If you have no experience playing Pathfinder or D&D, all the more reason to try, it's hella fun and I miss the days of recruiting and teaching new smogon players

Setup for the story is a hired group of monster hunters rolling into a podunk tourist town set in a mysterious crater. Local goblin (second class citizens in this nation) population has been in unrest and you're there to solve that problem, diplomatically if possible. So starts Book 1 of Void Legacy: Extermination Order, an adventure about goblins, dragons, faeries, aberrations, and systems of oppression.

On one hand, I would like to get into actually playing TTRPGs instead of just building characters in a vacuum. On the other hand, I don't think I'm a good fit for this group. I play primarily for the gameplay, particularly for the interesting combinations that can be produced. Pathfinder 2e, to put it bluntly, was a major reason I got into tabletop wargaming (as in, it had sufficient compromises stated to be for the sake of a story that I thought I would have a better time with plotless violence), and the house rules don't seem to be geared towards distinct gameplay differences either.
