In-Game Tier List Discussion

I just thought I'd ask something here, since it seems to be the best place to do it.

I'm starting with Snivy as my starter, and as far as level up movepool and stats go, he seems like he could get walled a fair bit through the game. Does anyone have any suggestions of Pokémon I should get to help patch up things that Snivy can't kill?

Thanks for the input everyone, I'm glad to know going starterless is at least doable, haha. I really like the Lilipup line, so I'll make sure I grab him early on. I've got a few favorites that I want to make sure are on my team - specifically, Scrafty, Whimsicott, possibly Excavalier and Chandelure. Other than that, I'll take the other suggestions to heart.

What is there to even DO post E-4 anyways? Are there any more antagonists to beat? Or is just more exploration? I haven't even heard about a Battle Frontier in these games!

It's all about exploring ~5 new routes and cities with brutally overleveled pokemon. There's also some legends to catch, items to collect, battle subway, 2 bridges, and many wild pokemon.
SPOILERS WARNING.
For example, the highlest leveled poke in the storyline is at 54, whereas the weakes pokemon you'll encounter post E4 is at least 64.

And the first wild pokémon you find is Magikarp with the Magikarp salesman!

Oh boy, do I love that guy.

Yea, cool cool magikarp salesman, he never does get old, does he, even after >10 years since his first appearance. Aftergame is a breeze if you use Kyurem/Volcarona/Starter or Pokeshifted/Cover Legend/idk Gyarados/Filler

You seriously gotta love him, especially when you have to buy Magikarp to get it in your Pokedex. He still says 'NO REFUNDS KID!' yet instead of Gen 1 when the game tells you "*player* used an outrageous P$500 to buy a Magikarp..." the music of YOU OBTAINED SOMETHING AWESOMESAUCE plays when you buy it

Fuck yeah. Magikarp for top tier.

So here's pretty much all that's left after the storyline ends, in no specific order:

*Magikarp
*Explore ~5 routes with overleveled crap.
*The cave in route 9 (stupid Gyarados has Stone Edge)
*Great Hall (best training place in the game. Audino grant ~3k experience even at level 99)
*Castle's basement where Volcarona is. There's also Onyx, Sandslash, Cofagrigus, and Claydosl.
*The Six Sages along with 3 grunt battles
*Battle Subway
*Waitress minigame to win lum berries
*Black City or White Forest. They won't appear unless you log to Wi Fi at least once, I think. The Pokemon you'll find are random, and at specific levels, but vary depending on your ID.
*Zoroark and Zorua
*Landorus and Kyuuremu, both at levels 70 and 75 respectively.
*Daycare
*Rival battles, Game Freak battle (daily), and Cynthia.
*Pokemon League round 2
*Wild Telepathy Musharna

Omake: Wild Kojondo omg.

Edit: Trainers that do rematches:

~SS Unova (level 50+)
~Black City (Random, minimum is 30 and maximum is 68)
~Rotation/Triple Battles at 8th Gym's City (Level ~38)
~Game Freak employee (Level 70+)
~Cynthia (Level 70+)
~Rivals (Level 60+. Cheren will battle you daily and bianca only on saturday)
~E4 (Level 71-75)

Terrakion comes extremely late. As someone said earlier in this topic, you get Terrakion literally 10 steps away from the Elite 4. So no... just no. You should already have a good team by this point, not to mention that you have to catch *you-know-who* a short while after Victory Road. Terrakion is unfortunately outclassed by that *you-know-who* and you should already have a steady team for the E4.

Cobalon has the ability to destroy Gym 7/8 while EXP. Sharing your party to decent levels. Mine had shit IVs and a shittier nature(lolQuiet) but Sacred Sword and Iron Head stomp everything at that point of the game anyway, since Cobalon is ridiculously overlevelled against Sekka's trainers anyway. :/

Birijion is an excellent substitute if you couldn't train a Grass type in time. Terakion is unfortunately, just NO.

At the E4 though, its weak against Renbu and Caitlin, while having his Fighting STAB nullified by Shikimi. The only time it shines is Giima, but so does Cobalon and Birijion, so there is absolutely no point in using Terrakion over his brothers.

Also,
WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT POST-E4
ULGAMOTH AND KYUREM RAPE EVERYTHING ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY.

Also Kiwi, you forgot the Darmanitan statues in Resort Desert. Without changing your date you'll need one entire year to get them though :/ unless it turns out that Mr.Team Rocket gives you Rage Candybar every day.

Which is a better in-game ability for Axew, Mold Breaker or Rivalry? Rivalry lets him beat one type of gender or the other better, which is probably useful for things like Geechisu and N, but Mold Breaker is good, too. I have no clue which to use.

Mold Breaker.

Rivalry lowers attack against opposite gender pokemon.

Trust me, it's not fun. I had terrible experiences with it in gen 4..

But I mean, if I get a male one and if I get Black, then Rivalry would be pretty good. More attack against Shaga, N, and Geechisu, if they have all male Pokes.

Serebii doesn't give the genders of the pokemon of the gym leaders/E4 etc.....
I think the majority of them is male, so a female Haxorus could work..... maybe.
