In Qontrol [OU]

It's been a few months since I last posted a new RMT, so this is the team I've been using.

Heatran.png

Heatran (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Grass]

I like leads that can come back for more so Heatran was my choice. SpecsTran is a total beast. Overheat 0HKOs Machamp, Hippopowdon, Jirachi, basicly anything that doesn't resist it. MagmaStorm is for those fragile sash leads. Earth Power adds some nice coverage and it's great for Occa Metagross. Hidden Power [Grass] kills Swampert. I usually switch when I see Aero leads because I fear an Earthquake.

Starmie @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Trick

OK, Starmie is probably the best special sweeper in the game, great speed, great movepool and a great ability. I don't know where this team would be without Starmie, since CroCune is everywhere, Trick really screws them up. I was going to replace this with LO, but ChoiceScarf Starmie is an amzing revenge killer. It has the ability to outspeed +2 bulky Gyara, +1 Dragonite, Flygon, pretty much anything. Hydro Pump does some serious damage and the classic BoltBeam is for coverage. Even when locked into 1 move, Starmie can be a decent lategame sweeper.

rotomfridge.png

Rotom-F @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 72 Def / 88 Spd / 96 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
- Blizzard

Defense Rotom, Rotom has become a standard to most teams for a good reason. It has an awesome defensive typing and it can spread around status. I use Discharge for the paralyze. I might take out Shadow Ball for Pain Split so I can gain some HP outside of Leftovers.

Dragonite (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 116 Atk / 200 Spd / 192 SAtk
Rash Nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Superpower
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- ExtremeSpeed

Dragonite has been one of my favourites since the anime but it's always been outclassed by the other Dragons. With Salamence exiled to Ubers, Dragonite has been more and more common. Anyway, the only purpose of Dragonite is to break down walls; an it does a hell of a job. I use ExtremeSpeed over Roost because my team lacks a priority user.

swampert.png

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake

Swampert acts as another physical wall and a phazer but it also sets up Stealth Rocks. Not much I can say about him.

Arkeis-Metagross.png

Metagross @ Life Orb
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Agility
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Zen Headbutt
Metagross is a machine in the lategame. With all these Flygons running around, I can switch this into an Outrage and get a free speed boost. After 1 Agility, it reaches around 400 speed. A huge chunck of metal with 400+ Speed and Attack is nothing to laugh at. Meteor Mash is awesome STAB and it can raise Metagross's sky-high attack even higher. Earthquake helps with Steel types. I use Ice Punch over Thunder Punch because Rotom-A and Zapdos can do some serious walling to this guy.

Hello. Looking at this team, it seems to me that you have most offensive threats covered. However, upon further examination, SD Lucario seems like a troublesome threat to this team. Lucario doesn't have many opportunities to set-up but it might able to take advantage of a choice-locked resisted move from Heatran or Starmie. After a SD, it is truly difficult to stop it from sweeping. So, with that being said, I would reccomend removing Starmie's Choice Scarf and replacing Rotom-F with a Scarf Rotom-H. Use the following the following moves on Scarf Rotom-H (Timid Nature): Thunderbolt | Shadow Ball | Overheat | Trick with 252 HP / 4 SpAtk / 252 Spe as an EV spread. With Scarf Rotom-H, SD Lucario is well covered as Rotom-H outspeeds Lucario, being immune to Extreme Speed, resisting Bullet Punch and being able to take down Lucario with Overheat. As for Starmie's moveset, go for (Timid Nature): Ice Beam | Thunderbolt | Rapid Spin | Hydro Pump / Surf with Life Orb as an item and 252 SpAtk / 4 SpDef / 252 Spe. With Scarf Rotom-H, you can afford to remove the Scarf. LO Starmie is a huge threat to both offensive and stall teams and the ability to switch between attacks makes Starmie much more dangerous. In addition, Starmie can support Dragonite well with Rapid Spin to get rid of SR, aiding Dragonite significantly.

As for minor changes, Zen Headbutt is a decent option on Metagross. It provides a secondary STAB move while hitting opposing Rotom-A and Zapdos for neutral damage and also has that 20 % flinch rate which is useful after an Agility. Protect is a decent alternative instead of Roar, allowing you to recover HP with Leftovers considering Swampert lacks a recovery move outside of Rest and also let's you scout against choiced foes.

Thanks for the rate, but SD Lucario isn't much of a problem. As long as I don't switch into SD, Metagross can kill it with Earthquake or set up Agility. I'll try Zen Headbutt on Metagross aswell. I've usd LO Starmie in the past and it worked wonders but I don't like loosing 10% because of Rapid Spin. Oh well, I'll try it out.
Rotom-F is pretty important to my team and I'd rather be able to spread around status than kill Lucario.
Thanks again.
