Okay I almost have this up and running but Im not sure what I am doing incorrectly. I have everything set up and running proper according to the guide, but my 3Ds refuses to connect to the access point giving me the error code "003-1101". I have the SSID typed correctly AND the password I created for it. The only thing I could think of is perhaps Im not setting it to the correct "security type" but nothing I change it to seems to fix the situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A bit of an update. I managed to connect to the Access point once but not the internet.. Error code 003-2001
Since this, I have not successfully connected to the access point. I did not change any information between these tests.. Odd.
Edit: Nevermind. It seems after some extended persistence; I have made it work finally.

Do you have sharing enabled or ICS turned on? That's usually a problem I have. At the very least, sharing should be enabled between the connection you're actually using to connect to the internet (ie the ethernet one if you're using a hard wire) and the access point created by Instacheck. Not really sure what else you could try.
Yes I do, and yeah it seems after I deleted my home network settings completely, (instead of just making sure the instacheck network was the top most connection) it decided to finally work. I'm hoping I will be able to add my home network back to my connection roster now that this has finally worked properly, but I feel like that is doubtful.
Oh, that's good I guess :). I'm sure I've seen other people have both their home and Instacheck in their settings, so I wouldn't rule it out completely. If it doesn't work then, you can always just use Instacheck as a normal hotspot and not start the scanning (ie just click the start hotspot button and not "start Instacheck"). I've done that before and can't tell a difference from the normal wifi.
Yeah this is true, and honestly, I don't do online battle at all and primarily use my wifi with pokemon for trades, to which I will want to be using instacheck for anyway as this is gonna make my life soooo much easier and it's not even really cheating cause it's not hurting anyone or making anything unfair, it just means I don't have to go individually check EVERYTHING before deciding what to keep that I receive from wonder trade.
But yeah, this is fully working, scan and all and it is SWEEET. It was pretty crazy when I got to see what I was getting and from whom before the game itself even told me. o.o
I was using instacheck but now it wont connect to the game in game, now i ether get an endless connecting screen or an error code.
I'm running into that problem as well. Was trying to check 6 eggs and it wasn't showing anything at all in regards to stats (last time I was able to get on (which was a little bit before the connection issues)). Then Instacheck would connect, and then wouldn't connect in game.
Could they have patched it now? That's my best guess.
Hmm seems my ability to connect to my hotspot is not yet consistent. My game wont go on the internet anymore. I didn't add my old home network back on either.. Im not sure what's causing the distruption.
Yea it kind of sucks. Since I wanted to check some Houndour eggs.
Yeah, it stinks. I had it working then I had to turn off my DS for a moment and now it refuses to connect. -_-'
I know if you are connected to the hotspot, and then disconnect, you have to restart the hotspot before you can reconnect with your DS. Have you tried restarting your hotspot? And I agree, it is pretty sweet haha.
Yea but I won't do that. I need the other connection. Can't just rely on that ONE connection. I only use it to check eggs. Period.

Got it. You just have to start instacheck itself for it to connect.
Yeah I tried completely closing out of my hotspot and closed out of my game and restarted both fresh. Same issue is persisting.
