Hey I just signed up. I came to smogon to amass friends who battle competitively (mostly OU). My favorite Pokemon ever is bulbasaur. I grew up with the show (1st gen) but didn't play the games until recent years. I have played rom hacks but my first actual game was X and Y. I got ORAS so that I could get the full experience of playing with all the new Megas. I use legal hacked Pokemon, but I know the trouble of breeding. In X I bred a HA 6iv bulbasaur with egg moves and everything (I also bred another perfect bulbasaur without HA). I originally played the rom hacks/mods for the stories or difficulty, but now I play for competitive battles. I first got into it watching Shady Penguinn back when he still played on showdown (he had like only 2 thousand subscribers at the time). I've played battle spot before but I prefer 6v6 battles. I hope I can find what I'm looking for here at smogon.

I've actually been on showdown for like a year or two but have never actually been active in the forums
I really wanted to check it out because I really like battling here and have been playing Pokemon all the time since I was just a little kid
I really like to play ubers although the team I'm currently testing is OU (I still might use it in ubers sometimes for a challenge though :)
My favorite two pokemon are Munchlax and Venusaur (I really love monster group Pokemon for some reason) and I currently have both of those two in all of my main teams (Even ubers, my Munchlax has taken down a lot of legendaries and fully evolved Pokemon and I'm really proud of him :D) I'm really stubborn about taking either of them off, especially Munchlax
I have omega ruby and y, but neither are beaten, I used to have X and Omega Ruby and both were beaten but I lost them at my friends house and had to buy new ones and really just haven't had the time to beat them. I have been playing religiously since I first got Emerald and have played all of the main games and GameCube games. I've also played almost all of the mystery dungeon ranger games (Really want a new ranger one) My favorite gen was 4 and favorite game is hgss. I really didn't like 5th gen(I sort of liked b2w2) and honestly didn't care to keep any of their Pokemon in mind, but I really like all of the other gens, including 6th
I actually have a question too: I think I have a pretty good handle on the smogon rules and everything, but I really just want to find ways to improve my team and playstyle, would going into the apprentice program you guys have be good for that?

Hey I get you with the whole shuckle thing, that's exactly how it happened with me and Munchlax, he was just kind of a joke at first and then I started using him and focusing on ways to make him win and he's been the best Pokemon in my team at times (Plus he's a cute little baby monster) kind of seems like there's a lot of Pokemon that can be awesome if you just make them be. I might be able to help you out with ways to make him succeed and patching up your team, if you want. PM me if you ever need help with that or just wanna battle on showdown or something, I'm free all day for the next two days so it would be pretty fun

I'm Rad, and I joined 6 months ago on PS, then repeatedly came here to check on Pokemon Viabilities for my teambuilding and recently decided to make an account to try and talk about some of my custom sets. I have been a loyal player online, but use this for mainly competitive battling, as I do not have the guts to try and breed and EV train. My favorite Pokemon has to be Skiploom, which was originally Hoppip ever since I got a Hoppip with Bullet Seed in Pokemon Rumble Blast (RIP game, you were eaten by dogs) and along with a Beedrill, kicked some butt with it until it was annihilated. I also like the Grass Type in general. I personally love any pokemon game, picking it up in the fourth gen, about when Platinum came out (I guess, it was 2009-2010), with my first being Heart Gold. My most recent game is my second copy of Super Mystery Dungeon, being bought yesterday.
When I started, I mainly plain dumb, using Non-Smogon suggested sets in NU, even using a PU Pokemon on the team for no reason. I now dabble in the arts of UU and LC and even proudly own a custom Grimer set that I just need to get out into the world.

What's up everyone? I'm KingCrux, but you may call me Crux or David, if you'd prefer. I've played pokemon since the original Ruby and Sapphire, and I've enjoyed the games immensely. However, with my growing age, I'm starting to find more of an appeal in competitive battling rather than the gameplay itself. I'm not very experienced with competitive battling and I'm very much hoping that I can gain some experience. I've been on showdown for a few days now, using the strategy dex to find sets for some pokemon if I couldn't think of anything to run on my own, and I decided I should join in. Maybe it can help find some people who can offer advice for teams, or make a new friend or two. Who knows? But.. Um... Like I said, I'm not very experienced with battling, let alone team building, so I am most likely going to turn to people on here every now and again to help me out if possible. Now for some random facts about me! I have a huge sweet tooth, and my favorite thing to eat/snack on is sherbet. My top five favorite pokemon are Tornadus (therian form, specifically), Azumarill, Phantump, Zoroark, and Slowbro. Everyone always makes comments about my eyes in person (they tell me they are pretty). I love mountain dew. I like Rap music and Rock music. I like the Borderlands game series. My favorite subject is psychology, and I'm pretty good at it too. I enjoy watching NumbNexus on youtube, cause he's hilarious. I'm 18 years old. And my favorite color is purple. Hello, im SirYoshi, just joined smogon today. I saw something at the beginning of this discussion about a badge or something, not sure what those are. I started playing pokemon in 2005, and my first game was emerald. My brother got diamond in 2007 and i got diamond also a year later. I have all the pokemon games for handhelds up to date, and consider my knowledge vastly superior to some others. I have no experience with this site, or tiers or badges, nothing. Where do i go to learn about those?

Hello! Name's Vincent, and hopefully this community will be a part of my off-time in the future. Dropped competitive YuGiOh stuffs (regionals, YCS) a while back for no particular reason, but found that I miss have a turn-based logic game in my wheel-house of things to do. This led to me picking up Pokemon a couple of weeks ago (literally about 2 weeks). Showdown is just infinitely more my speed; I'm here for the strategy game, and I unashamedly lack the time and patience to IV breed and EV train. That being said, up until they jumped ship to DS and beyond, I owned and completed every Pokémon game starting from Yellow version.
As far as any goals go, well... in true self-determined fashion, I tried breaking into the OU ladder board just by lurking and applying this wealth of information to my other experiences, and it just hasn't been enough to produce the results I wanted. Been stuck in the 1400s, and while I feel like I learn something every-day, I'm just going to need a nudge. An RMT thread here, a question there... it's just time to develop

Hey don't be so hard on yourself I'm certain you'll get better as time progresses just keep training and play some more pokemon showdown. I can help you improve your skills as well and help you get better. You should start out by checking out the smogon strategy dex that was the first place I went to. The strategy dex gives you the basic building blocks in improving your skills and can help you improve in your skills. The first game that I also played was pokemon emerald and pokemon diamond. Generation 4 to this day is still my favorite pokemon generation. Hope you have a great time on the forums and if you need something feel free to let me know.
Pokemon diamond was also my first pokemon and so was pokemon emerald. I think generation four is easily the best pokemon generation in my opinion. Strategy dex can help you familiarize yourself with the current meta and explains what pokemon belongs in what tier and why. I got back into Yugioh a while back actually and jeez the meta is so broken as of now it's ridiculous. 1400's for a team isn't bad at all especially in OU. I love generation four. Diamond Pearl and Platinum were great games. Soul Silver and heartgold were amazing games as well. I have played on the competitive side of pokemon for a couple years now. I started getting really into the competitive side of things before I actually joined this site which is rather interesting. I love volcarona. Volcarona is such a great and underrated pokemon and I also really like suicune. Unfortunately Volcarona gets rekt by stupid stealth rocks which is a major problem especially in the current meta. I think that generation five is very underrated as well and to many people give generation so much unnecessary hate. I'm sorry about the bullying situation...I'm not a big fan of people harassing others as well. If you want to talk about something on a more personal level I can reach out and help you. Oh rayquaza that stupid green thing that got banned from ubers. My double battles rating got amazingly high as well in double battles. Then again not that many people play doubles so it's easier to get higher up in the latter....I am also a big fan of some manga and anime. I don't play a whole lot of ubers. I really like one piece so far and I have been reading the sonic boom comics recently (especially after the crappy games they released). I have about 2 3ds xl's one of them the newest model. I'm currently looking for a regular broken 3ds for parts for my current broken 3ds and I may do a custom paint job and customize my regular broken 3ds. Perks to being bored I guess:). I like the lower tiers as well including RU. I feel like a lot more pokemon have a greater shot of shining in the lower tiers and that the lower tiers are a little more balanced. I'm sure you know this but I'm here to talk.

The strategy dex would probably also be a good place to check for the basic building blocks on team buildings if you need some help. I hardly use pokemon showdown actually...I used to showdown a lot but not so much anymore and I spend most of my time on this site posting or hosting giveaways. Hey Guys! My name is LittleRunnerXC. But most people just call me LRXC. I have always liked to play mons, since like gen3, but got into Competitive about 5 months ago. My main and only tier is UU, which I really love to play. It is so fun and diverse. My favorite mon, if you couldn't tell by my profile picture is Accelgor =). I have been enjoying my time here on Smogon, and have love contributing to the UnderUsed forums. I am also pretty active on PS and love the community there as well :). Some background information... My name irl is Logan and I am 15 years old(Sophomore). I LOVE to run, and I workout a lot, but havent been able to lately because of some injuries(hence why I have been able to be on PS more lol). I am a long distance runner, and again, I just love to run =). But yeah, I do specialize in the UU tier and you can message me on PS or Smogon if you want any help with your teams and such! Well, after pacing around the forums, I decided to create an account and introduce myself. My name is Mike (Campbell ... hence, ItTheSoup #CampbellsSoup) and I'm 26 years old. I started learning Competitive Battling around mid-May of last year after chatting with a friend about the game. After hundreds of hours of watching YouTubers like ShadyPenguinn, Nipps, and KingNappy, I started battling on the 3DS on Battle Spot and had some good runs. One of the biggest tips I can give you if you wanna get serious about competitive mons is talk to lots of people very familiar to the tier, and also, make great use of Smogon's Analysis's, they helped me a lot when I was new to the competitive scene. Also PKMN Stadium 2 was also one of my favorites, me and my brother still play it occasionally! Haha.

Hey I'm Travy I started with Pokemon Yellow and haven't stopped, I am on Pokemon Showdown same name on Showdown and on here. My favorite Pokemon is Charizard, I plan to make friends and compete in Tournaments to get better and also upload battles on my YouTube channel. My favorite games are Heart Gold Soul Silver. In real life I go to college and work so I am pretty busy but I also make time to play Pokemon, since it helps keep life less stressful.
