IRL Team.

Hi smogon. This is my first post to please tell me what I did wrong. I have most of these IV bred In-Game and am planning to use this team for the VGC.

Aegislash (M) @ Spooky Plate
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
I think this is pretty standard for this mon. I swords dance first and kings shield to lower the attack, the swords dance and so on. sacred sword because I can. It's also for coverage.
Greninja (M) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Quirky Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Extrasensory
- Ice Beam
- Scald
My spec sweeper. Darkpulse for stab, extrasensory for stab , ice beam for stab. EVERYTHING FOR STAB!!!! And expertbelt since I could deal more damage with super effective attacks. extrasencory is great coverage along with dark pulse.

Scizor (M) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Pursuit
- U-turn
My priority attacker. Bullet punch for stab and priority, swords dance to boost when possible, pursuit for coverage. Most of the time, I would use this to revenge kill then boost with swords dance. I also mega evolve this for more power

Gardevoir (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Hardy Nature
- Moonblast
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
My bulky special attacker. assult vest with the already big SDef would make it even bigger allowing it to take multiple special hits

Avalugg (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Avalanche
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Recover
This is my physical wall. The defenses on the is are huge and can take physical hits very well. Then there's avalanche to retaliate against sweepers. I tend to switch him out and send out sylveon upon a special attacker.

Sylveon (F) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Shadow Ball
- Moonblast
- Protect
This is my special wall/cleric. I would loved to have ran heal bell on this but you can't breed tutor moves. Wish/Protect for reliable recovery. Shadowball and Moonblast for coverage. The lum berry is for status conditions

To get sylveon with heal bell in x/y simply breed the Eevee in black/white, give it heal bell there, then evolve it in x/y. In any case swap lum berry for leftovers. And if scizor is a revenge killer then it gets more power from life orb than from its mega form. That also frees up the mega slot for gardevoir, who benefits from mega form much more than scizor does (plus then you get fairy hyper voice).

Kalos Native: The eevee that is to be Sylveon must be hatched or caught in Pokemon x/y to be elligible.

Also, Sylveon can't hold leftovers since VGC runs item clause.

____

Agreed on Scizor: run life orb like he says or Choice Band and replace swords dance with brick break (superpower is move tutor only). I run a Kalos-native CB scizor and it is very reliable.

You are currently running three set-up sweepers in Avalugg, Scizor, and Aegislash. Don't do that. Make Scizor CB or Defog Life Orb (avalugg will appreciate it) and the Aegislash could benefit from Shadow Ball and a Speed-reducing nature.

Hello, and welcome to smogon! I seem to understand that you Iv bred these. If u really want the team to be the best it can be for vgc, u must add proper natures into the mix. Natures are modifiers that raise a certain stat and lower a certain stat, so for competitive you always want that extre boost. For example, ur Aegislash seems to have a bold nature which is +defense - attack. That's gonna be hindering it's attacking power greatly. On your team only ur avalugg and slyveon seems to have he right nature. I would suggest a brave nature plus 0 speed Iv on Aegislash (or adamant if u don't have the ability to 0 Iv breed), a timid nature on greninja and gardevoir, and an adamant nature on scizor.

Another problem I see is that assault vest gardevoir. Ew. Jk but honestly, gardevoir has a great mega and scizor is a great poke without it's mega. I would suggest switching the item on scizor to a choice band for extra power and revenge killing and the gardevoirite on gardevoir. If u have access you could also try to get hyper voice on that gardevoir for the pixilate boost.

One last problem is that u have no way to remove hazards. A simple fix to this problem is that you put rapid spin on avalugg. Avalugg takes on a more defensive role so I would suggest avalanche/toxic/recover/rapid spin.

If u want anymore help or questions just reply to this message or else I won't see it XD.

I do have 0 ivs on aegislah.
I'm not sure about rapid spin on avalugg since he is weak to sr
all great help and thank you

Glad to help :). There are always other options to remove hazards that aren't weak to sr that can be physical walls

Dear god, I didn't even notice the natures!

The best rapid-spinner you could run is actually Defog Mandibuzz if you're going with the CB Scizor over Life Orb Defog Scizor. You aren't running entry hazards yourself, so replacing Defensive Avalugg (who isn't really all that great anyways as a tank that lacks reliable recovery) with Defof Mandibuzz makes a lot more sense.

Mandibuzz @ Leftovers
Overcoat
Bold (252 HP/252 Def/4SpDef)
-Defog
-Roost
-Taunt
-Foul Play

If you need help breeding this pokemon, send a PM.

Haha yeah people seem to always miss the natures :). I def agree with this mandibuzz post, as I have used the poke many times successfully. The weakness to sr doesn't really matter as u can recover it off. Plus ur avalugg is extremely suspect able to special attacks even when it is setting up so it's not the best option in the word.

He has access to recover so I have no idea what you mean...
So he does (had to look it up) I stand corrected.

Still sucks as a tank and also as a hazard-remover and also as a curser. Remove him. If you want to run a curse set, use Umbreon since it has the special defense to take a hit--and if you want hazard removal like we have been discussing, run Mandibuzz. Avalugg adds nothing to your team.
