Pet Mod Iron Fist - Slate 11 Results

PalpitoadChamp chose me as his successor…

1725750422377.png

Anyways,
Smelmetal: Probopass but it shedded it’s Rock-type to be a Melmetal. One of the new additions that can give opposing Steel Pokémon some troubles.

Bondra: It would be the ultimate sun sweeper were it not the fact that it’s best physical Fire STAB is… Fire Fang. No Solar Blade either, only Power Whip which is around 80% accurate.

Dragoone: I thought it was supposed to be 175 Speed and 75 Special Defense, not the other way around… turned out I looked up to a Snakewood Wiki and it confirms it really is 175 Special Defense and 75 Speed. And it actually evolve from Linoone in Snakewood, too. Either way, props for J.O.J.O. DNU for taking a more obscure part of Snakewood.

Onto the Pokémon itself, that SpD is huge! An Assault Vest Dragoone will be a nightmare to fight for most special attackers, especially since it blocks Sludge Bomb, Aura Sphere + Focus Blast, Weather Ball and Syrup Bomb. Yes, Gen 3 Linoone do have both Belly Drum and Extreme Speed, so that set will be genuinely deadly as well.

Mega Electrode: This can works as an emergency revenge killer without running risk of being too powerful on it’s on. Might end up in an epic fail against anything immune to Electric or is using Protect, though.

Mario Kart Wii: With only a base 80 Attack, it may want to use a Choice Band, as 135 Speed already outspeed a lot of Pokémon in this Pet Mod. Funny concept with funny wallbreaking potentials.

Ougayporn-Comerstone: This will be annoying to fight against, between guaranteed survival per switch in (according to Ability not sayign once per fight, so once per switch-in is assumed) and constant -1 Defense. I wonder if this also survive from indirect damage, though.
The Kitchen Sink: As gimmicky as it looks, it can turn the tide if used well. Don’t go reading the description with Battle Timer on, though.

Cuddle: how cute! :)

Big Bash: Finally, an use of the Big Button. Physical Normal-type Pokémon, including Dragoone, are gonna love this!

Veto Phase: More power to the dictator of this Pet Mod, helpful to increase chance of getting a sub in.

Bucket Hat: Fishing Minigame users can spam that move in order to gain 25% of max HP back. Defensive Swampert can just use Slack Off, but balance/support-oriented sets appreciate the passive healing.

Jar of Mercury: Only works on Double Iron Bash, then again Iron Fist (the item) can make that move everywhere, so it does make for good anti-DiB surprise.

Slate 3 Campaigning has begun!

Samtendo09 was chosen by PalpitoadChamp as his successor. So far, Sam has had an emphasis on balanced but interesting Pokemon additions to fill holes in the metagame via in his submissions. Whether he continues this path as nominee remains to be seen.

His two challengers are:
Cratersmash, who is a very respectable 5/6 on getting legislation passed, also with a specialty of new Pokemon additions. I will be curious to see how their platform differs from the incumbent party's platform. It could win or lose them the election.

KeeganSkymin4444 has taken on a very different platform so far in his Iron Fistlandia political agenda, with an emphasis on pushing through the Wii Balance Board to viability. While his efforts so far haven't succeeded, perhaps he can get the populace at his back to get some things done.

The candidates will have at least 24 hours to make their speeches before the election begins. Crater, Keegan: if you do not want to be SL, let me know ASAP and I will substitute you out. Good luck to our aspiring Supreme Leaders!

24 hours have passed, and the votes are in!
Samtendo09 - 11
Cratersmash - 10
KeeganSkymin4444 - 6

Though Crater put up a good fight surging late in the election, the Fishing Party once more takes the Melmetal-shaped office, and submissions are open!

Submissions will be open for about four days, I will give 24h warning. This is shorter to account for the new veto phase that was added last slate, and also because we really didn't need four weeks for submissions. After Sam goes through submissions, I'll give a day for those receiving vetoes to approve or reject the revised submission.

As a reminder, you can submit up to 3 things. Templates are in the original post.

Good luck, Samtendo09, dearest leader of Iron Fistlandia!

Pokemon: Moltres-Mega (Mega-Evolves using Moltresite)
Type:
Fire.png
Flying.png

Ability: Magic Bounce
Stats: 90 / 125 (+25) / 100 (+10) / 160 (+35) / 100 (+15) / 105 (+15)
Movepool: + Drill Run, Magic Powder, Winged Blade
Weight: 70kg
Competitive Role: Supplements its defensive profile with wallbreaking and hazard blocking. Stealth Rock weakness necessitates that the user switches it into hazard setters aggressively, which can be exploited with double switches and whatnot.
Flavour: For years, Farmer Joe has been feeding his chicken magic mushrooms in secret. As a result, the bird has developed advanced psychokinesis, and Joe has been detained on account of animal cruelty.

Name: Fish and Dip
Power: -
Accuracy: -
PP: 16
Category:
Status.png

Type:
Water.png

Effect: Sets 1 Fishing Token on the user's side of the field. User switches out.
Priority: 0
Flags: Fishing
Distribution: Archeops, Big Crammer, Feebas, Fridgile, Kingler, Moltres, Sentret, Zacian-Crowned
Justification: Pivot to Bucket Hat guy. Should be held in check by its middling PP and Bucket Hat's opportunity cost. Sounds like 'fish and chips'.

Name: Fishing Minigame
Power: 90
PP: 16
Distribution: + Kingler
Justification: This move is way too spammable. Lowered PP and power expands one's options for playing around it. Also taking the opportunity to push the Kingler agenda.

Name: OH MY GOOOOD WAAAAAAAAAANISFOKIFNOUH
Power: 300
Accuracy: 99.9%
PP: 1
Category: Physical
Type: Normal
Effect: The user faints. If the attack connects, removes entry hazards from the user's side of the field.
Priority: 0
Flags (ex: Contact, Sound): {contact: 1, protect: 1, mirror: 1, metronome: 1, noparentalbond: 1},
Pokémon With This Move: Skiddo, Gogoat, Tauros (all), Carvanha, Sharpedo, Solgaleo, Arcanine (both), Ponyta (both), Rapidash (both), Persian (Kanto), Stantler, Wyrdeer, Basculin (all), Basculegion, Braviary (both), Varoom, Revavroom, Koraidon, Miraidon, Metagross, Azelf, Mew, Marill, Azumarill, Mario Kart Wii, Smelmetal, Celesteela
Justification: wario dies in a car crash

Name: Panic Button
Effect: If the user's attack is both successful and deals less than 10% of an opponent's max HP, the user switches out to a chosen ally.
Can Be Knocked Off: Yes
Ignored by Klutz: Yes
Fling Power & Effect: 10. Switches both the user and the target out to random allies.
Justification: Pulling back a very old item concept of mine. If you really want your Pokemon to have pivoting, then you can give it to it, but only at the cost of both an item slot and potentially a moveslot depending on how high your base attacking stats are. If an opponent has reaaaaally low defensive stats then it can block this though. Item removal like Knock Off is good counterplay as well of course, both removing your item slot and potentially making an entire moveslot much less useful depending on what you're running.

Jirachitwo strikes back: the movie
9A17BADD-1EC9-4E8C-AE53-655F6E148656.jpeg

Pokemon: Jirachitwo
I can do sprite work for this mon if mandated by the supreme leader
Typing: Psychic/Ground
Base Stats: 95/95/100/95/100/70 BST: 555

Ability: Benevolent Blessing
Movepool: Jirachi natdex movepool
+ vine boom
+ memento
+ mog off (justified by ability)
+ volt switch
+ metronome
- u turn
- zen headbutt
- wish
- healing wish

Weight: 16 dozen doughnuts (5 kg)
Custom Elements: ability

Flavor / Description: scientists hoped to recreate the mystical wish granting power that Jirachi wields through artificial means in a lab. Due to a miscalculation, the scientists were unable to harness this power properly and instead created this strange and unusual creature. Every 10 years, this Pokémon awakens to cause minor inconveniences for 55 days. It then burrows deep in the earth to sleep.

Ability
Name
: Benevolent Blessing
Effect: Replaces the ability Serene Grace. Pokémon with this ability have a 5% chance of falling asleep and a 1% chance to use final gambit at the end of each turn. If PalpitoadChamp’s submission to alter the move mog off goes through, ignore the following: If the move mog off is used by a Pokémon with this ability, it has a 50/50 chance to either become affected by swagger or use self destruct immediately after using mog off.
Permanent (Yes or No): no
Mold Breaker (Yes or No): no
Pokémon with this ability: replaces the ability serene grace
Justification: I think it would be really nice if Pokémon with serene grace just stopped working because serene grace users are annoying so this ability change operates as a form of punishment.

Dear Supreme Leader Samtendo09,

You are very cool and I think this mon will be a cool addition to the iron fist metagame.

Your Humble Peasant,

JoltSmash

Our forces are growing...the Diamond Hand has escaped the heart of defeat by the skin of it's teeth! Both Collarchet and Guiltrism join our ranks, but Wizareetin supposedly never made it to the Supreme Overlord's approval...But we need more than just three members to take on the new monsters within this fishing industry, especially since one of the members wasn't even built for combat in the first place. The beast's powers vary, from legends of Snakewood past, to a masked beast with such a grisly name, that seeing it makes you have amnesia. But yet, we carry on, with three new potential recruits up for recruitment, of Steel, Ice, and Normal...including, the big boss himself!

Pokémon: Ovrswe (Lover + Swear)
Typing: =
Base Stats: 45/130/114/66/110/110 (575)
Abilities: Swear Jar
Movepool: Show's Over, *$*!($!, Swearing, Mog Off, Vine Boom, Metal Claw, Leer, Torment, Stomping Tantrum, Brutal Swing, Slash, Outrage, X-Scissor, U-Turn, Pounce, Skitter Smack, Thief, Snarl, Fling, Foul Play, Taunt, Dark Pulse, Knock Off, Lash Out, Throat Chop, Play Rough, Low Kick, Brick Break, Drain Punch, Body Press, Reversal, Close Combat, Focus Punch, Upper Hand, Acrobatics, Aerial Ace, Trailblaze, Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, Venoshock, Amnesia, Flash Cannon, Iron Head, Iron Defense, Heavy Slam, Steel Beam, Gyro Ball, Metal Sound, Hard Press, Big Bash, Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, Endure, Facade, Helping Hand, Protect, Rest, Sleep Talk, Substitute, Take Down, Tera Blast
Weight: 42.3 lbs.
Custom Elements:
Swearing: 10BP Special Dark-type Move with 100% Accuracy, 32 PP, and +1 Priority. The user swears, gaining a Swear Coin instantly. It has a 20% chance to cause the target to flinch.
Show's Over, *$*!($!: 100 BP Steel-type Special Move with 100% Accuracy and 8 PP. This move gains 50 power from each consumed Swear Coin instead of 30.
Swear Jar: Every time this Pokémon is damaged, it swears, causing it's electronic swear jar to generate a Swear Coin. When this Pokémon uses a Steel-type attacking move, it consumes all Swear Coins, adding 30 power to the move for each Swear Coin consumed this way.
Competitive Role: Revenge Assassin
Flavor / Description: Themed around the Phrase "Swear to god", and based off Demolition Man's electronic swear jar, Ovrswe serves as the Diamond Hand's assassin, having been rescued from an abandoned city destroyed by the titans of the Iron Fist Arena. There, it was once a way to keep the swearing under control, and likewise it also makes the beasts of the Iron Fist Arena afraid of swearing as well. Despite it's role, this tiny Pokémon those size makes it harder to hit is an absolute foul-mouthed Pokémon that swears it's head off every single day, which in turn forces it's electronic swear jar to generate special coins that make it's Steel-type moves tougher.
Note: This Pokémon is genderless.

Pokémon: Conquescape (Conquer + Landscape)
Typing: =
Base Stats: 120/40/34/56/250/75 (575)

Weight: Incalculable! (Treated as 9999.9 lbs in-game)
Custom Elements:
Frigid Terrain: Ice-type Status move with 16 PP. The field is plunged into Frigid Terrain for 5 turns, or 8 if the user is holding a Terrain Extender. Under Frigid Terrain, all Ice-type moves have +50% power, and all Fishing moves consume triple the PP per use.
Frozen Landscape: If this Pokémon is hit by a contact move, the attacker becomes an Ice-type.
Competitive Role: Wall
Flavor / Description: Yes...somehow, one of the Diamond Hand's members is an entire mountain range! Or at least, a one-way portal leading to the mountain range, inspired by the phrase "Making a mountain out of a molehill". Those that go through this portal can never escape, being driven insane doing so, and thus this Pokémon serves as a way to keep the titans of the Iron Fist Arena under control, serving as the Diamond Hand's Prison. The other members must also be careful around this Pokémon: Rumor has it that the Diamond Hand's leader caught Wizareetin trying to betray it, and locked it up here!
Note: This Pokémon is genderless.

Pokémon: Daiyafia (Japanese for Diamond + Mafia)

Custom Elements:
Get Em', Boys: 100 BP Normal-type Physical Move with 100% Accuracy and 16 PP. Power increases by 10 for each other unfainted allied Diamond Hand member in the party. (Anarlvet, Collarchet, Guiltrism, Ovrswe, Conquescape, and Daiyafia are all members of the Diamond Hand)
The Diamond Hand: When this Pokémon enters battle, it receives a 20% increased critical hit ratio for all of it's moves, and it's Attack and Special Attack is reduced by 1, for each other allied Diamond Hand member that is unfainted in its party. (Anarlvet, Collarchet, Guiltrism, Ovrswe, Conquescape, and Daiyafia are all members of the Diamond Hand)
Competitive Role: Leader of the Diamond Hand team, Sweeper
Flavor / Description: The de facto leader and founder of the Diamond Hand itself, Daiyafia was supposedly a Pokémon who lost his trainer to the very first beast to hit the Iron Fist Arena, whom he is still searching for today. Riding on top a living diamond hand, this Pokémon gives out missions and bounties to his fellow Diamond Hand members, but in battle, he will command them to pile on their enemies and tear them to shreds. Be careful when going around Daiyafia, for it might give you an offer you can't refuse...Did we mention that due to the bounties of hunting the beasts of the Iron Fist Arena, that this Pokémon is stinking rich?
Note: This Pokémon is male only.
