IronPress (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Earth Eater
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Def / 200 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Lava Plume
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Substitute

[SET COMMENTS]
IronPress Heatran trades immediate damage for more defensive utility and sweeping potential, being able to handle common Ground-types like Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Ting-Lu. Lava Plume is preferred over Flamethrower to spread burns against switch-ins like Hisuian Goodra, Magic Guard Quaquaval, and Ting-Lu. IronPress allows Heatran to better take on RegenVest users such as Alolan Muk and Meloetta, Garchomp, and Well-Baked Body Steel-types, most notably Kingambit. Substitute blocks Dragon Tail from Garchomp and Knock Off from Iron Treads, takes advantage of the switches Heatran forces versus foes like Blissey, and also benefits from Iron Defense boosts. 200 Speed EVs and a Timid nature make Heatran outrun Timid Volcanion and Adamant Slither Wing. This Heatran variant is very vulnerable to common Primordial Sea users in Zapdos, Kilowattrel, and Inteleon, so partners that can take them on like Hisuian Goodra and Meloetta are mandatory. Primordial Sea Zapdos can switch in against Fire-types such as Iron Moth, Skeledirge, and Ceruledge that threaten Heatran. In return, Heatran takes on RegenVest users that Zapdos struggles to break through. Another Fire-type teammate with Desolate Land like Cinderace, Iron Moth, or Ceruledge appreciates Heatran taking on Ground-types for it, while they can punish Water-types and the aforementioned Primordial Sea users.

Timid Nature
- Lava Plume / Fire Spin is a decent other option over Lava Plume to troll Chomp, Hoodra, etc. IMO
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Substitute

IronPress Heatran trades immediate damage for more defensive utility and sweeping potential, being able to handle common Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T. Lava Plume is preferred over Flamethrower to spread burns against switch-ins like Hisuian Goodra, Magic Guard Quaquaval, and Ting-Lu. IronPress allows Heatran to better take on RegenVest users such as Muk-A Alolan Muk and Meloetta, Garchomp, and Well-Baked Body Steel-types, notably Kingambit and Corviknight Iron Treads, while making itself more difficult to revenge kill. Substitute blocks Dragon Tail from Garchomp and Knock Off from Iron Treads, takes advantage of the switches Heatran forces, and also benefits from Iron Defense boosts. 204 Speed EVs with a Timid nature makes Heatran outrun Adamant Slither Wing, Modest Timid Volcanion, and uninvested Garchomp. This Heatran variant is helpless against common Primordial Sea users in Zapdos and Kilowattrel include a Water like Inteleon, the other type of Psea users so partners that can take them on like Hisuian Goodra and Meloetta are mandatory. Primordial Sea Zapdos can switch in against Fighting- and Fire-types such as Galarian-Zapdos, Psea Zapdos gets 2HKOed by both Jolly CBSoR and Jolly MGLO Gapdos and loses to most other fighters on switchin. Cinderace, Iron Moth and Ceruledge that threaten Heatran Cinderace gets 2HKOed by +2 BP and only retaliates modestly, while Iron Moth hits Heatran's unboosted SpDef for a 2HKO while resisting both moves. Include checks to The Fighting Types™, like Corviknight. In return, Heatran takes on RegenVest users that Zapdos struggle to break through such as Hisuian Goodra and Meloetta. Another Fire-type teammate with Desolate Land like Cinderace, Iron Moth, or Ceruledge appreciates Heatran taking on Ground-types for them while they can punish the afromentioned Water-types and Primordial Sea users.

Partially implemented, Idk if Fire Spin is viable enough, Heatran still fears Knock from Treads so I kept Corvi, nature is debatable, Corv also kinda doesn't check Fighting that well so I will wait for official input, I also already mentioned AV users before so I won't name them a second time. Still, thanks for the check!

IronPress Heatran trades immediate damage for more defensive utility and sweeping potential, being able to handle common Ground-types like Garchomp, (add comma) and Landorus-T, (add comma) and Ting-Lu. Lava Plume is preferred over Flamethrower to spread burns against switch-ins like Hisuian Goodra, Magic Guard Quaquaval, and Ting-Lu. IronPress allows Heatran to better take on RegenVest users such as Alolan Muk and Meloetta, Garchomp, and Well-Baked Body Steel-types, most notably Kingambit and Corviknight (Generally speaking, if you are running WBB then Corv's usually are running Body Press which this Heatran set loses the 1v1, Iron Treads only takes about ~30 to press unless boosted and could knock so it doesn't really "beat it" either). Substitute blocks Dragon Tail from Garchomp and Knock Off from Iron Treads, takes advantage of the switches Heatran forces Give an example of this (probably vs say, Scream Tail or Blissey), and also benefits from Iron Defense boosts. 204 Speed EVs make Heatran outrun Modest Volcanion and uninvested Garchomp. This Heatran variant is helpless against common Primordial Sea users in Zapdos, Kilowattrel, and Inteleon Barraskewda (Barra can beat both of these) so partners that can take them on like Hisuian Goodra and Meloetta are mandatory. Primordial Sea Zapdos can switch in against Fire-types such as Iron Moth, (add comma) Skeledirge, and Ceruledge that threaten Heatran. In return, Heatran takes on RegenVest users that Zapdos struggle to break through. Another Fire-type teammate with Desolate Land like Cinderace, Iron Moth, or Ceruledge appreciates Heatran taking on Ground-types for them while they can punish Water-types and the aforementioned Primordial Sea users.
