This battle occurred at the release of the new platinum moves/pokemon on the smogon server. I guess this could be a little historical bit of the transition among the 4th generation!
Intro1827: After Platinum was implemented to Shoddy, I decide to make a team around Wash Rotom, specifically a Rain Dance team, which I had already planned. And IIRC, this was my first battle with it after some changes. After 2 minutes or so on the find tab, I get paired with nardd.
nardd: Platinum is just released and integrated into the smogon server at the time of this battle, so I decide to try out my team against the platinum changes! I run a generally self-sacrificial, offensive team, and half of my pokemon have explosion for some easy kills to let heracross/flygon clean up after the mess. I hit the find tab and away we go into the platinum opponents!

Intro1827 sent out Deoxys (lvl 100 Deoxys-e).
nardd sent out Metagross (lvl 100 Metagross).
Deoxys-e is exerting its pressure!
Intro1827: Hm.. A Metagross. Well, since most leads that can learn Stealth Rock will actually use it, I decide to Taunt
nardd: Oh, lead Deoxys, how I adore you. What will you do? Do you have reflect? Will you taunt my suspected stealth rock? I decide to go with my generally offensive playstyle and lead off with an attack. This might also lead intro into thinking I am choiced.
Deoxys-e used Taunt.
Metagross fell for the taunt!
Metagross used Meteor Mash.
Deoxys-e lost 72% of its health.
Intro1827: Looks like I was wrong, after all -_- Time to switch to my physical tank..
nardd: Pretty good damage, 72% is a reasonable amount I think. :] Bet he will go to a defensive poke, but just in case he decides to sacrifice or attack I'll bullet punch to take 'em out.
Intro1827 switched in Rotom (lvl 100 Rotom-w).
Metagross used Bullet Punch.
It's not very effective...
Rotom-w lost 11% of its health.
Intro1827: And he takes the hit like nothing. Seeing as he's probably going to switch now, I go for a move that can hit for neutral most things
nardd: That didn't really do much, and I don't have anything that will hurt him much more than that. This is my first experience against the new rotom, but I know he learns hydro pump as well. Here's where I don't think about the fact that rotom learns shadow ball, so I switch to flygon to take the electric attack or at least survive the water attack I guess? A bad move in general but we'll see I guess.
nardd switched in Flygon (lvl 100 Flygon ?).
Rotom-w used Shadow Ball.
Flygon lost 56% of its health.
Intro1827: Which does good damage too. Since Flygon is going down in another hit, I stay in and attack again
nardd: Hmm.. that did a lot more than I would like. I figure I will sacrifice flygon to get some damage with the new outrage on my psuedo-chomp.
Flygon used Outrage.
Flygon went on a rampage!
Rotom-w lost 70% of its health.
Rotom-w used Shadow Ball.
Flygon lost 44% of its health.
nardd's Flygon fainted.
(6-5) intro
nardd switched in Gengar (lvl 100 Gengar ?).
Intro1827: 70% is a lot, though... And I obviously can't keep Rotom against Gengar
nardd: Of course he will switch, so I get some damage to whatever comes in, hopefully not a blissey. Although I could use explosion, I take the safe route and use shadowball since I have no idea what he will bring in.
Intro1827 switched in Registeel (lvl 100 Registeel).
Gengar used Shadow Ball.
It's not very effective...
A critical hit!
Registeel lost 31% of its health.
Gengar lost 10% of its health.
Registeel is holding Leftovers
Intro1827: Ouch, critical.. Well, at least Focus Blast can only 3HKO at max HP, so I have time to setup
nardd: Crits are always welcomed, but gengar won't do enough to regi right now. Lets switch in my wall thing uxie and get some rocks on the field or paralyze some shit.
nardd switched in Uxie (lvl 100 Uxie).
Registeel used Rain Dance.
Rain began to fall!
The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Uxie is quite annoying, but I'm sure I can take it out now that it's raining
nardd: So a rain team, eh? I guess that was what deoxys was for as well. Let's paralyze whatever comes in just to be annoying, since it's probably some sort of attacker. I don't use stealth rock yet so I can remain on the somewhat offensive until I know his team some more.
Intro1827 switched in Azumarill (lvl 100 Azumarill ?).
Uxie used Thunder Wave.
Azumarill is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Paralyzed, not too bad, since Azumarill is not speedy anyway. And I'm immune to WOW, which is always good
nardd: Ok now... azumarill, azumarill. I remember he's pretty strong due to pure power and it's still raining, but I think I can take a hit or two nevertheless. How about some rocks so I can get some switch control?
Uxie used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Azumarill used Waterfall.
Uxie lost 64% of its health.
The rain continues to fall.
Uxie is holding Leftovers
Intro1827: Ah, HERE is Stealth Rock >_> At least it's not Reflect
nardd: Geez that did a lot! oh well, farewell uxie, you've done your job I guess. Let's leave with some damage from thunderbolt. I use both thunderwave and bolt since chomp is gone and he counters gyarados quite well.

Intro1827: Ah, bad crit. Uxie is dead, but Azumarill won't live through a STABed attack. Actually, ANY attack...
nardd: Again with the crit. I always feel a little bad but I can't help appreciating it :] I figure hera can force azumarill out and hit whatever comes in hard enough, so here comes a close combat!

Heracross's special defence was lowered.
The rain stopped.
Intro1827: I needed to check if it was Scarfed or Banded, and Kingdra seemed bulky enough... Assuming it's Banded, I make an obvious switch in
nardd: Thank you uxie for those stealth rocks! He must know I'm banded now, as that did a rediculous amount of damage to the average defenses of kingdra and he sends in a ghost. I'm glad the rain is gone, but now I have to bring something in on a STAB shadowball.
Intro1827 switched in Rotom (lvl 100 Rotom-w).
Pointed stones dug into Rotom-w.
Rotom-w lost 12% of its health.
Intro1827: C'mon, switch to a wall...
nardd: I guess meta can take whatever, although I didn't think about the fact that I can't do much back. Silly on my part. :/ Maybe meteor mash will k'o?
nardd switched in Metagross (lvl 100 Metagross).
Rotom-w used Trick.
Rotom-w obtained Lum Berry!
Metagross obtained Choice Specs!
Intro1827: Eh, not too bad. not Leftovers, but at least Metagross is screwed. I need to get Rotom out now..
nardd: Damn. Choice specs. Well I guess it could be worse, but I really didn't expect that and I should have. Now I know for later battles I guess, and I'll try to do some fast damage with bullet punch. Now I wish I had choice band on gross to screw him over too.
Intro1827 switched in Registeel (lvl 100 Registeel).
Pointed stones dug into Registeel.
Registeel lost 6% of its health.
Metagross used Bullet Punch.
It's not very effective...
A critical hit!
Registeel lost 13% of its health.
Intro1827: 13% on a crit. Looks like the special wall takes hits better than the physical one. Ah, well. I have time to Rain Dance again now
nardd: Again with the crits, wtf. Well I obviously am stuck either with no damage or switching, so I go to heracross to force him out and do more damage.
nardd switched in Heracross (lvl 100 Heracross ?).
Registeel used Rain Dance.
Rain began to fall!
The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Heracross again, and nothing can switch into it safely.. I decide to sacrifice Deoxys to get something in
nardd: I don't want to risk doing pitiful damage with stone edge or megahorn, so I use cc even though a rotom switch in is likely. At least it will take stealth rock damage.
Intro1827 switched in Deoxys (lvl 100 Deoxys-e).
Deoxys-e is exerting its pressure!
Pointed stones dug into Deoxys-e.
Deoxys-e lost 12% of its health.

nardd's Heracross fainted.

It's not very effective...
Azumarill lost 13% of its health.
Azumarill is paralysed! It can't move!
The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Aw, Paralyzed. And now Azu has low enough health to get killed by SR on the switch in, so I keep her in. You did an awesome job, get some rest now
nardd: thank you paralysis, now I get another kill since he either dies now or later due to the rocks
Metagross used Bullet Punch.
It's not very effective...
Azumarill lost 7% of its health.
Intro1827's Azumarill fainted.

The rain stopped.
Intro1827 switched in Registeel (lvl 100 Registeel).
Pointed stones dug into Registeel.
Registeel lost 6% of its health.
nardd: By now I know the routine, so I switch to an offensive poke while he sets up rain. I don't want to get heatran in yet, as he is ruined by rain and is still a surprise factor. Gengar should be able to do some damage, so I switch him in.
nardd switched in Gengar (lvl 100 Gengar ?).
Registeel used Rain Dance.
Rain began to fall!
The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Gengar can't 2HKO me with Focus Blast, so I try to get some hax with Thunder
nardd: Focus blast should do some damage, even if it doesn't ko, I'm willing to sacrifice gengar for some damage and to wait out the rain.

The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Well, maybe a bit more than some...
nardd: fuck focus blast and its accuracy. If only it wasn't so useful for coverage. I guess I got some of my own paralyzing medicine those last few turns.
nardd switched in Metagross (lvl 100 Metagross).
Intro1827: At this moment, Rotom dies from Stealth Rock, so I just keep Registeel in and try to Paralyze Metagross

Intro1827: And I manage to kill Metagross O_o
nardd: He ko's first, unfortunately. Hopefully heatran can take out his last two pokemon!
nardd switched in Heatran (lvl 100 Heatran ?).
Intro1827: Oh, great... Heatran with no rain. Now, it's either a Fire attack or Earth Power, but both will kill Registeel AND my last Pokémon..
nardd: Here's where it gets kinda complicated. I know I can take out registeel easily with either earth power or overheat, but intro still has an unknown pokemon at this point. I really want to just earthpower, but for some reason I'm afraid he has a skymin or something waiting in the wing to fly over my earth power. I should have realized that he would have brought something like that in during the whole registeel/metagross earthquake duel, but instead I play it safe again and use overheat. I find the extra power and accuracy to be pretty usefull on scarftran.
nardd: what's your last pokemon?
nardd: :]
Intro1827: >_>
nardd: just wondering
nardd: I desperately try to make him tell me so I know what to pick, but intro's a little too smart.
Intro1827: Or not too stupid :P
Heatran used Overheat.
It's super effective!
Registeel lost 33% of its health.

Intro1827 switched in Toxicroak (lvl 100 Toxicroak ?).
Pointed stones dug into Toxicroak.
Toxicroak lost 6% of its health.
nardd: fuck should have used earth power
nardd: damn you
nardd: I blame my opponent for my play-it-safe overheat to get rid of some frustration. Thankfully intro takes it in stride.
Intro1827 switched in Rotom (lvl 100 Rotom-w).
Pointed stones dug into Rotom-w.
Rotom-w lost 7% of its health.
Intro1827's Rotom fainted.
(1-1) tied for the last time
Heatran used Overheat.
But there was no target!
Intro1827: -_- Yeah, I was hoping Overheat would still halve its Special Attack. I tend to be stupid when I'm near the end of a battle. Now Toxicroak will take even more damage from Stealth Rock and will have to take a STAB Overheat, which is NOT good for his Dry Skin...
nardd: What? I guess he was trying to get my sp att drop, but thankfully rotom is too punctured by stealth rocks to become washing machine flambe... But now toxicroak takes more sr damage and gives me a better chance to win!
Intro1827 switched in Toxicroak (lvl 100 Toxicroak ?).
Pointed stones dug into Toxicroak.
Toxicroak lost 6% of its health.
Intro1827: You win
Intro1827: I accepted defeat, since my Toxy only had 87%...
nardd: Don't you love when it all comes down to one move and the random number generator? I didn't even think of dry skin as intro mentioned earlier, but I still doubt I can take toxicroak out with a -2sp att overheat
Heatran used Overheat.
Toxicroak lost 86% of its health.
Heatran's special attack was harshly lowered.
Intro: OMG....
nardd: over over over, no way I could survive a cross chop, even without the crit. Intro thinks otherwise, and I'm too lazy to do a damage calculation anyway.
Toxicroak used Cross Chop.
It's super effective!
A critical hit!
Heatran lost 100% of its health.
nardd's Heatran fainted.

nardd: warstory worthy
Intro1827: Heh
nardd: i thought
nardd: can't believe you survived that
Intro1827: Yeah
Intro1827: The crit was really lucky, too
nardd: prolly would have killed me anyway
Intro1827: Nah
Intro1827: I don't think so
nardd: unnecesary
Intro1827: Heatran's pretty sturdy
nardd: perhaps i dunno
Intro1827: I don't know if I should save this or not
nardd: I'll save the log and maybe write one, idk

nardd: mk so he sacrificed to bring in something else, a standard move. I now assume I will attack first and I forget about aqua jet. Bad move.

Heracross lost 100% of its health.
nardd's Heracross fainted.
(4-3) intro
The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Priority + Rain and reduced defenses is pretty awesome
nardd: Ok, so there goes my main attacker :/ Maybe metagross can get to him first with bullet punch...

It's not very effective...

(3-3) tied again
Gengar used Focus Blast.
Gengar's attack missed!

(3-2) intro
The rain continues to fall.
Intro1827: Well, maybe a bit more than some...
nardd: fuck focus blast and its accuracy. If only it wasn't so useful for coverage. I guess I got some of my own paralyzing medicine those last few turns.
nardd switched in Metagross (lvl 100 Metagross).
Intro1827: At this moment, Rotom dies from Stealth Rock, so I just keep Registeel in and try to Paralyze Metagross
nardd: I know he can't bring in rotom due to stealth rock, so I earthquake to take out that registeel and its thunder thighs
Metagross used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Registeel lost 41% of its health.
Registeel used Thunder.
Metagross lost 22% of its health.
Metagross is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
The rain stopped.

(3-1) intro
Intro1827's Registeel fainted.
(2-1) intro
Heatran's special attack was harshly lowered.
Intro1827: Rotom is still in Ko range from SR, so this is the only Pokémon I can switch to
Intro1827 switched in Toxicroak (lvl 100 Toxicroak ?).
(1-0)
Intro1827 wins!
Intro1827: O_O
nardd: lol
nardd: gg
Intro1827: gg
nardd: very nice
nardd: warstory worthy
Intro1827: Heh
nardd: i thought
nardd: can't believe you survived that
Intro1827: Yeah
Intro1827: The crit was really lucky, too
nardd: prolly would have killed me anyway
Intro1827: Nah
Intro1827: I don't think so
nardd: unnecesary
Intro1827: Heatran's pretty sturdy
nardd: perhaps i dunno
Intro1827: I don't know if I should save this or not
nardd: I'll save the log and maybe write one, idk
nardd: maybe we could do a combined story
