Is that okay?

I heard Action Replay can EV train pokemon, and I was wondering if that would be legal. I mean, I don't care about EV training, but I have over ten pogeys that I need to EV train to participate on local battles with my friends (theme team stuff, not that bunch of standards all of us already have).

So, my point is? Is that allowed? Does it screws pokemon data? Would my pokemon still be considered legit in a hack test? It's not a discussion about hacks, like the ones that are starting every week. I'm just asking about the legitimacy part of AR EV training.

Hey Gabriel, how you doing?

back on point there is no code as far as I know that EV trains your pokemon, the only way you can do it through AR is by modifying the game so that all the pokes that you encounter are a specific pokemon beneficial to your EV training methods. In that case it doesn't really touch the data of the pokemon being EV-trained. So IMO it's fine but others won't see it that way because it saves loads of time EV training this way compared to the "natural" way, and this makes some people frown....

About the will your pokemon pass a legitimacy test I don't know...

Well, EV training doesn't take nearly as long as breeding. You can finish EV training within an hour if you have Pokerus and Power items, so the time thing isn't as much of a big deal. As far as whether or not it messes with your data, I don't have a clue.

Since no one here actually knows what they're talking about but try to answer your question anyway!...

There are codes available for AR that "max out" the EVs given through Vitamins. I have never used them, so I don't know if this means you get 255 attack EVs from a protein or what or even if this gives you "510" EVs in a stat, making a Pokemon obviously hacked (though because there are separate codes for "Pokemon can break 255/510 stat cap" and codes for "Items max out stat," I would imagine that they are not the same thing).

I cannot tell you if it would cause a pokemon to become hacked or not pass a legitimacy test. Obviously if it breaks stat-caps, the Pokemon becomes hacked. I think your best bet is to look up the code online, try it out on something irrelevant (or a clone of something you have bred, so you know it's legitimate but expendable) and then ask someone to run a hack check for you (though you will likely be denied, as this is generally not a "for the good of the forums" matter). However, regardless of whether it passes the test or not, the matter is still likely to raise questions from people adamant about hacking as your AR is still affecting the outcome of the Pokemon.

Hopefully this is helpful.

Well, EV training more than 10 pogeys is lot time and in-game money consuming, that's why I'm looking for codes.

It certainly was, thanks. It looks like I should forget it and try to find a new way of training my pokemon.

As for the vitamins maxing stats, the overall EVs still cap at 510 unless you use a separate code to allow the pokemon to have more than 510 EVs. Without the code, after using 1 protein and 1 carbos, using 1 calcium will have no effect. Also, 1 protein simply gives 252 attack EVs, or however many it will take to bring the attack EVs up to 252

That vitamins looks great. Is it an usual code or does it involve any kind of hex data and stuff? Is it safe?

I don't need to pass the 510 limit. Just to make vitamins give 252 of each stat (if it's not unlegal, which seems it isn't)

Your codes will give 255 or 252 forbidden?

Btw, I plan to use this codes on local battles. If it's legal, I won't need to EV train my pogeys again when I wanna battle Wi-Fi. If it isn't I'll certainly clone them before I use, to make sure I can EV train them later for Wi-Fi.

Yup, that's where I got it from. I don't know how detectable the code is, but I have used it on my Clefable, the only pokemon I've ever hacked outright.

Idk, I've never used it so I don't know how it works. But if it only modifies the EV, it should be safe to use. Be sure to clone a copy of your poke and experiment! I'll be deleting the code in like 5 mins.

Would my pokemon still be considered legit in a hack test?

Whether or not current levels of hack testing can detect it doesn't change the fact that the Pokemon WOULD BE HACKED.

As with virtually every other instance: Tell who you're playing against, and if they're okay with it, it's fine, something which could have been discovered by reading any of the 50000 other hack threads you're duplicating in spirit if not in pure technicality.
