XY OU Is the force with me? (First team ever)

The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

I mean... Hi, folks. How are you doing?

This is my first competitive team ever (and my first thread on Smogon). I'm pretty new to the game, so I don't know exactly how to elaborate the moveset of my Pokémon. A friend of mine made a team for me, to introduce me to the battles. Now, I've created one of my own. I believe its quite solid, but there is always place for improvements.

The team my friend made was:
Kyurem-Black, Mega-Manectrice, Talonflame, Excadrill, Gyarados, Tyranitar. - Worked perfectly, but I wanted a team all by myself.

I swtiched to:
Latias, Mega-Manectrice, Talonflame, Azumarill, Hippowdon, Bisharp. - Also solid, yet basic. But was not what I wanted...

And then, I made other changes. Before I present you the final version, some considerations: I would really appreciate some hints on EVs spread, natures and items. I believe the movesets are ok (it could be better, of course), but I'm having huge problems with two specific Pokémons: the goddamn Rotom-Wash and the annoying Quagsire. I just don't know how to counter them propperly.
Also: Everything below is based in my opinions and thoughts as a newbie on the game. Feel free to correct me. Also, the description and nicknames of the Pokémons have a lot of Star Wars jokes, hope you guys enjoy them. :)

mamoswine.gif

Wampa (Mamoswine) @ Leftovers
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

He is usually my lead, because of the Stealth Rock AND his awesome offensive presence. His speed isn't that great, so I raised it with 252 EVs. Seen as a naturally slow Poké, I could surprise a lot of other trainers when I was testing the team. The moveset is pretty standard, I guess, but it's working. Also, I believe he has a very funny face. That means something to me.

heatran.gif

Obi-Wan (Heatran) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Ancient Power

I found him as the perfect partner for Mamoswine. When you see an Ice/Ground mammoth, the first tought is to attack with fire. Then I got Flash Fire from this guy here and the sh*t get serious. Lava Plume and Flash Cannon are there for stab reasons (and also because I hate facing Fairy-tipes), and Ancient Power is a little surprise for that damn Talonflames playing around.

azumarill.gif

Jar Jar (Azumarill) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Knock Off
- Play Rough

Pretty basic. At first, I used to HATE this little fellow, because I always had my ass kicked by it. Then, I find joy in him: despise of its appearence, hits hard. I don't feel like I have to explain this Pokémon, because it's the same that everyone uses.

honchkrow.gif

Vader (Honchkrow) @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Pursuit

Here it is, my favourite Pokémon on the team, with my favourite Nickname (even he is not a Psychic-type). Remember the Bisharp I had on the team before? He is the replacement - and works better, plus I don't believe people that lots of people expect this Pokémon on a battle (I might be wrong). Moxie works great, Brave Bird is my favourite move, I have Roost and Pursuit support when I need... In other words, the Force is strong with this one.

manectric-mega.gif

Palpatine (Manectric-Mega) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch

My cute Sith Lord. I use it mainly as a switch-in when I see Rotom-Washes or another electric Pokés, so the magic happens. With a plus of 1.5x on Special Attack, it becomes pretty powerful. Again, I don't think the moveset deserves any explanations, because it's really common.

latias.gif

Leia (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Defog
- Draco Meteor
- Psychic
- Roost

The defog rebel princess. It's primary function is... Well, defog the field when necessary. But it's also a nice physical sweeper, and it really amuses me when she send another dragons to hell. The problem is that she kisses her brother.

Hmm.. For AV Azumarill, that EV spread is not that standard. That spread is for Banded Jolly.
This is an example of an AV Azumarill.(Actually, that is one from my team..)
Azumarill (F) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Huge Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 12 SpD / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Knock Off
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough

Honchkrow, I have never seen that one in the OU battle, but do you really need pursuit support when you are pretty much prepared to Latios/Latias? You already have an AV Azumarill, Heatran and Mamoswine. If you need strong priority Brave Bird, try using a Talonflame. It can also Roost, if you use the bulky set. It has many sets, like Choice Band, Sword Dance, and Bulk Up. It also has Will-o-Wisp to burn things.

If you want to run Offensive Defog, and not using Healing Wish, Latios will do the job better. I use almost the same set with Healing Wish, since it will do something even when it is trapped. It is your choice though.

For Mega-Manetric, you will be Volt-switching around, so you need to get all the power possible. I recommend using Overheat over Flamethrower.

Why do you have that IVs on Heatran? I think that must be a mistake.

I think that you can make a couple of changes to your Mamoswine set.
First off all, the whole point of lead Mamo is sashed stealth rocks; so I suggest you change the item to a focus Sash on mamo.
Also, change mamo's nature to jolly, in order to out speed jolly lead sash breloom.
Also to accompany this, I suggest that you change icicle crash to icicle spear, in order to kill breloom.

252 Atk Mamoswine Icicle Spear (3 hits) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Breloom: 306-360 (117.2 - 137.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Also, I second the idea to change flamethrower on Mega man to overheat. This calc shows why:

252 SpA Mega Manectric Overheat vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Excadrill: 414-488 (114.6 - 135.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Mega Manectric Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Excadrill: 288-340 (79.7 - 94.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

You can possibly catch the exca on the switch in, predicting t-bolt.

Tl;dr

Mamoswine @ Focus Sash
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Spear
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake

Manectric-Mega @ Manectite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch
- Overheat

Also, why thoses evs and 30 ivs on heatran?

Hoped I helped.

Thank you, guys.
I'll try Overheat Manectrice, Focus Sash-Mamo and a Latios. But I won't bring Talonflame back >:( Honchkrow is a fav.

And that explains the EVs:

If you want a specially defensive Heatran, I can give you an example. Heatran has many viable sets including Defensive, Specially Defensive, and a Choice Scarf set(possibly specs, but I haven't seen one). I am not sure but Assualt Vest set might work, too.
Heatran @ Assault Vest
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 220 SpD / 40 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Flash Cannon
- Ancient Power
- Earth Power
This is a set I just made up, with the standard EV spread on the analysis and the moves you wanted to use. This is not actually tested yet, but it has all the power it needs. And it is surprisingly bulky. Come to think of it, somebody MUST have tried this before..
0 SpA Heatran Ancient Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Talonflame: 292-348 (98.3 - 117.1%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO
0 SpA Heatran Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Gardevoir: 168-200 (60.6 - 72.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 SpA Heatran Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Clefable: 236-282 (59.8 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Heatran Ancient Power vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Charizard: 248-296 (83.5 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Scald vs. 248 HP / 220+ SpD Assault Vest Heatran: 186-222 (48.3 - 57.6%) -- 92.6% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Draco Meteor vs. 248 HP / 220+ SpD Assault Vest Heatran: 66-78 (17.1 - 20.2%) -- possible 5HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 111-132 (28.8 - 34.2%) -- 2.9% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Charizard Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 220+ SpD Assault Vest Heatran: 112-132 (29 - 34.2%) -- 2.5% chance to 3HKO
Yes, this is crazy..

I think I need to adjust the EVs to make sure the Ancient Power OHKOs Talonflame, or maybe even regular Charlizard(on switch).
28 SpA Heatran Ancient Power vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Talonflame: 300-356 (101 - 119.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
And yes, if you want something that has been proved, you can use Balloons/Leftovers.
