Jellicent

Jellicent

RIP Somalia

[Overview]
If Jellicent's amazing facial hair isn't a reason to use him, his amazing typing and ability to check key threats is. Despite tons of competition with other bully waters, Jellicent cements his place as a top tier supporter thanks to these and other qualities. His unique Water Ghost typing gives him a plethora of resistences to common types, like Fire, Water, Fighting, and Ice. His Ghost typing also allows him to spinblock, making him an excellent choice for teams that rely on hazards. What really help Jellicent in DW is his ability to defeat many top threats, like Blaziken, Manaphy, Keldeo, and even some Genesect.*

It's not all great news for Jellicent though. Unfortunatly, Jellicent has no way to deal with status, meaning he can be easily crippled with Toxic. He is also grounded, making hazards, particularly Toxic Spikes, a problem. Also Jellicent is bulky, with the power creep in DW, Jellicent will struggle to take repeated powerful attacks, especially physical attacks. However, these issues are nothing compared to Jellicent's advantages, so the jellyfish Pokemon is a great addition to most teams.*

[Other Options]
•Choice Specs (I'm considering making this it's own set, however, it seems a bit gimmicky and not that useful considering the significantly better Specs users available.)

[Checks and Counters]

Actually, the Choice Specs set works pretty well. Specs Hydro Pump or Water Spout does a ton of damage, and Jellicent's workable bulk allows it to be a great user of them. Either it gets a giant mention in the OO or its own set. It can tank Thunderbolt from a Genesect and KO it back, adding to its many uses. While it's Pursuit weak, Pursuit doesn't do too much damage, and Water Spout can even OHKO Tyranitar in the sand with 2 layers of Spikes support!

EDIT: looool just saw the RIP Somalia. definitely need a set with energy ball imo

I'll mention it in OO. It's useful for beating waters, but outside of that it's fairly useless. Plus, coming off of Jellicent's low special attack with no investment, it's not going to do much anyway, especially considering how bulky most waters are.

I'll mention it with the specs set, where it would be actually useful for hitting waters. But yea, with the support set you're better off Toxic stalling.
