Hi there! I'm a little new to the forums and was hoping to stick around for a while because I've been playing Pokemon Showdown for quite a while. It's a very neat application! Anyways, let's get to my OU team (my rain team).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Politoed @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Perish Song
- Encore
- Ice Beam
This is the normal rain lead. He doesn't have much of a purpose in the battle except to execute the rain. I gave him toxic and encore just to mess with my foe, and ice beam and hydro pump incase I found that the other person was weak to these moves.
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Hasty Nature
- Thunder
- Trick
- Iron Head
- U-Turn
Jirachi plays a big role in my rain team. His serene grace makes every one of its moves a threat. I've been told that King's Rock does multiple things, so I gave it to Jirachi just incase it increases the chance of flinching. Thunder will never miss in the rain, and also has a 60% chance of paralysis with serene grace. The other moves are basic attacking moves that have a status effect.
Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Atk / 244 HP / 12 Spd
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Psyshock
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin
After taking a suggestion to consideration, I've learned that Starmie is great for destroying the possible rocks being set up to destroy Volcarona. Starmie has incredible speed, which is essential in a battle giving you a great advantage. The hydro pump, psyshock, and ice beam definitely take care of most threats.
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Rest
- Scald
- Wish
- Protect
A HUGE asset. Vaporeon's hydration causes the sleep status to go away after rest is used. Wish is there just incase health gets low. However, with 252 HP EV's, Vaporeon's HP should protect it for wish to kick in. Scald and ice beam are the basic attack moves associated with Vaporeon.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Gentle Nature
- Hurricane
- Aqua Tail
- Thunder
- Roost
Dragonite is definitely a beast for a rain team. His stats are all around incredible and his learnable moves are great in the rain. Multiscale prepares it for any move it encounters, and roost will put it back at maximum HP for multiscale to kick in. Hurricane and thunder will never miss, and aqua tail is more powerful in the rain.
Volcarona @ Lum Berry
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Hurricane
- Bug Buzz
- Quiver Dance
Volcarona is another typical Pokemon to have on a rain team, but definitely worth that extra spot. Flame body will intimidate most people from using physical attacks as it will burn them. Hidden power will cover weaknesses such as rock and ground. Quiver dance will make Volcarona a scary opponent, but you must be careful as it is left vulnerable. Bug buzz and hurricane are incredible after pulling off a quiver dance.
Let me know what you think, and I'll consider any changes you suggest!!
EDIT: I read that you must put 3 lines for each Pokemon, but I made sure that there were 3 lines in the description for each Pokemon on the editor. At least the moves, nature, items, EVs, traits, and names were given!!
