guys the name jumbo shrimp came from this image, where it gives funny captions to mons in OU.
hence the name from mega gyarados - I present you, JUMBO SHRIMP

Hello guys! So recently I've been obsessed with Mega-Gyarados. It has 2 nice abilities in Intimidate and Moxie (pre-mevo), and an epic ability in Mold Breaker (mevo). It also has decent bulk and a good typing. I was lately experimenting with it, and have created a team around it. Let's get on to the team building process.
Well obviously I started with M-Gyarados. I added Gothitelle to form the GyaraGoth core.
130.png
576.png

I then added a suicide lead Terrakion to help me get up rocks early in the game. (later changed to double dancer terrakion)
130.png

I added CB scizor to help beat Kyu-b and having a slow u-turn is nice.

I added Excadrill as a spinner to get rid of hazards that annoy M-Gyarados.

I needed a spinblocker, and Trevenant walls Exca hard.

later, trevenant was swapped out for landorus-t, to let me better counter excadrill, and a more reliable form or rocks.

you can use scizor and scarf magnezone interchangeably, as both deal reasonably well with kyub and magnezone has the added perk of trapping ferrothorn and skarmory if gothitelle is too overwhelmed.

With that out of the way, I can go onto the team in-depth.

639.gif

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

This is my suicide lead Terrakion. He usually taunts stuff like smeargle and skarmory and other slower common stealth rockers. He then proceeds to set up rocks, and then take out as much stuff as possible with his epic STAB combo. I've gotten a bunch of battles where my opponents don't even have an answer to lead Terrakion. The EVs are fairly simple, max speed for a fast taunt and fast rocks, max attack for epic power, jolly nature to speed tie with keldeo and try to get up rocks/cc it. sometimes if my opponent has a talonflame I will commonly save terrakion to try to check it later.

there are two sets you can opt to run, this suicide lead, or you can run Robs suggestion of double dancer terrakion, and bulky landorus t over trevennat.
639.gif

Terrakion @ Lum Berry / Fist Plate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish

if you decide to run the second set, I would recommend running bulky landorus-t for stealth rocks. (again, thanks to Rob for the sets)
645-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
EVs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

130.gif

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang/Stone Edge

Next up is the star of the show, M-gyarados. Intimidate is the preferred pre mevo ability, as it allows me greater bulk and helps me check dangerous physical attackers like conkeldurr lacking thunder punch. Dragon Dance is obvious as it allows me to set up and sweep. Gyarados has scary attacking stats, and after a dragon dance is speed is pretty nice too. Waterfall is my main STAB, it's extremely reliable and spammable. Earthquake allows me to take out Rotom-W after I mega. (mold breaker ignores levitate) Ice fang allows me to beat amoonguss, mega venu and bulky grass types. Stone edge lets me beat Kyu-b, but I don't like relying on stone miss. adamant is used to increase my already high attack, and the EVs maximize my speed and attack, but you can also choose to run 216 speed, 40 HP and 252 attack.
576.gif

Gothitelle @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Trick

The next mon forms the Gyara Goth core. It helps me trap mons that Gyarados has trouble with, like skarmory, slowbro and other physical walls. Trick lets me screw up defensive mons like chansey if I ever face one, thunderbolt roasts skarmory, psychic hits mega venusaur and frens, and HP fire is mainly for ferrothorn, gyarado's #1 main counter. pretty simple. The EVs maximize my bulk allowing me to switch in multiple times if a team carries multiple counters to m gyarados.

recently, trevenant's spot as a counter to excadrill and spin blocker has been taken over by landorus-t.
645-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
EVs: 248 HP / 220 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

say hello to one of the most recent members of the team - landorus-t. this guy offers my team much needed stealth rocks, checks mega zard x, and forms a double intimidate core with pre mega gyarados. together, they can help check dangerous physical attackers. not much to say here, the EVs are taken from Rob, you can probably PM him if you want to know why. I assume the speed EVs are probably used to speed creep something important, with impish and HP and Def investment used to increase his already nice physical bulk.
709_af-gif.22575
(thanks to sunny004 for the awsome trevenant sprite :D)

Trevenant @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Harvest
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Will-O-Wisp
- Phantom Force

this guy is my awesome spinblocker. He has overall well rounded stats, with a good support movepool in w-o-w, leech seed, substitute... sitrus berry is for dat OP leech seed sitrus berry harvest shenanigans, will o wisp trolls physical attackers except zard x, substitute lets me dodge status that I hate, and allows me to whittle my health down and get it all back with sitrus berry. Phantom force hits the lati twins for good damage, and also allows me to stall for more will o wisp leech seed turns, and also get more health from harvest. 252 HP gives me bulk, 252 Spd gives me special bulk since will o wisp deals with physical attackers, and 4 attack lets Phantom force hurt. careful for more bulk. I think I might need a better spread. lol.
212f.gif

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Superpower

CB scizor helps me deal with kyu-b, which gyarados and gothitelle cannot touch. It has i think the strongest unboosted bullet punch, and strongest u turn. knock off is spammable for knocking off choice scarfs and bands and lefties and stuff like eviolite. superpower lets me nail ferrothorn which also gives m gyarados trouble. choice band lets my smack stuff around with muh punches, and adamant makes them hurt. max attack for the max attack, and max HP for overall bulk. scizor also gives this team some priority, which is awesome.

ANOTHER OPTION OVER SCIZOR
if you want more variety, here is another suggestion, by user Cinco Diablo. it's choice scarf magnezone, used to help me better trap ferrothorn just in case gothitelle gets haxed to death and somehow dies lol. It is also useful for trapping skarmory which also happens to wall gyarados. (why do so many steels wall muh gyarados :o)
462.gif

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]
this is typical choice scarf magnezone I think. volt switch gives me momentum, and forms volt-turn with lando-t, and also allows me to switch out and gain momentum on predicted switches. thunderbolt is my main form of STAB, nailing skarmory, slowbro, keldeo, and other water types. flash cannon allows me to deal with fairies if excadrill is dead, and is also useful for taking out a chunk of damage out of ttar.
252 SpA Magnezone Flash Cannon vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 174-206 (43.1 - 51.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
Hidden Power fire is obviously magnezone's most useful move, as magnezone traps pretty much all steels and beats them 1v1 with his strong HP fire, except for Heatran. noo, I am not going to run HP ground lol. there isn't alot of things to say about magnezone, he offers me special attacking mons so my team isn't all physical except gothitelle, he gives me a good scarfer, allows me to take out annoying mons that wall gyarados, and is just pretty useful.
530.gif

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
The last mon of the team, but certainly not the least. excadrill is my much needed spinner, and gives me an electric immunity. this is a simple set, with earthquake for spamming it at everything not a flying type, rapid spin obviously lets me spin the hazards away, mold breaker earthquake also beats gengar, as long as focus blast misses lol. Iron head is steel STAB which hits fairies like sylveon and clefable for good damage. Rock slide is the last move and helps me beat thundurus and other flying types. air balloon gives me a ground immunity so I can switch in on earthquakes targeted at terrakion. adamant increases damage output, max attack and speed so I can go fast and hit hard.

okay, well that's about it for my RMT, i'm currently having trouble with zard x as it completely runs through my team.
any comments would be appreciated :)

okay importable added :)
Terrakion @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Swords Dance
- Rock Polish

Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Gothitelle @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shadow Tag

Instead of excadrill, I suggest that you use starmie or a defogger. Starmie provides a much needed special presence on your team and allows you to beat unboosted Zard X. Instead of substitute on trevenant, you could use curse, seeing as how it fits well with Trevenants strategy. Trevenant forces a switch, curses on something like ferro, and then shadow forces, causing the opponent to lose half of their HP two turns while also triggering sitrus berry. The Shadow Force charge turn also allows him to re-harvest his sitrus berry after curse.

hello. thanks for the rate! I will try out starmie and see how it goes. umm I will probably not use a defogger on my team because terrakion is a suicide lead. (most of the time) I have already tried curse on trevenant and I did not like it because I found that I got statused alot and died way too quick. thanks for the rate, i will definitely try out your suggestions :)

Ability=Analytic for amazing power on switches, 252spa,253spe,4spd
Hydro Pump
ice Beam
thunderbolt
rapid spin

Hi, cool team.

This is a pretty solid team featuring the use of Choice Specs Gothitelle + Mega Gyarados, so props on using an annoyingly hard to break through core that is also underrated in the current meta. However, I can see some flaws that your opponent can easily take advantage of & I'll attempt to help in order to fix these flaws. Without further ado, let's get straight into it. At first glance, a gigantic impending threat to your team is Offensive Nasty Plot Thundurus-I. With Prankster Nasty Plot, Thundurus can jump all over & 2HKO your entire team with a STAB Thunderbolt / HP Flying, & KO Excadrill with a well-timed Focus Blast. To help remedy this malady, I would suggest you use an Bulky Defog Latias. Latias would be an excellent addition to your team, as it has a high chance of getting the OHKO on Thundurus with a simple click of Draco Meteor & provides great Defog & Healing Wish support, & despite Defog removing your hazards, you could save Terrakion for later in the game & use my next suggestion as a lead. Next, I would like to recommend using a Choice Scarf Magnezone in place of your current Scizor. Choice Scarf Magnezone is just an excellent Pokemon that can help revenge kill the likes of Kyurem-B, & can trap troublesome Steel types such as Ferrothorn, opposing Scizor, & others. Magnezone also provides some excellent offensive momentum with Volt Switch so it can be used as a lead. My last, albeit small change would to use Substitute on your Gyarados in the last slot over Ice Fang / Stone Edge. Substitute helps Gyarados get up more DD's & helps prevent it from getting hit by nasty status moves.

Hey, here to help a bit with your team. Replacing Trev with Landorus-T would really help your teams inability to deal with set up sweepers like M-Charizard X, M-Heracross, and etc. Trev is not a good Pokemon to use in OU. Trev has two nice abilities but its typing doesn't help it defensively, it's defensive stats aren't great, and it can be hard pressed to support the team because of its poor speed. Landorus-T will support the team with Stealth Rocks, it can pivot teammates in, and it can also serve as the defensive backbone. Using Stealth Rock on Landorus-T would free Terrakion up to use a more offensive moveset. I recommend using Rock Polish + Swords Dance Terrakion. Your team is fairly slow, by using Rock Polish Terrakion can beat faster threats like Greninja, Thundurus, and the Lati twins. You could use Lum Berry over Fist Plate if you want to setup on defensive mons like Chansey or screw over Prankster Thundurus's T-Wave. I also suggest using Taunt instead of Substitute on M-Gyara. Taunt has the same effect just without the loss of HP. Good Luck with the team m8.

Also, another item option for the Tree is a lum berry, to switch in on the pesky burns, considering that the majority of your team consists of physical attackers, and burns are well, burns.

I will definitely try some of your suggestions, like scizor to choice scarf magnezone. I will probably not run sub on m-gyarados as that basically makes me auto lose to bulky grasses and kyub, making me lose tons of momentum switching into gothitelle or magnezone respectively.
also btw thanks for the sprite i will change stuff right now :)

hello, thanks for taking the time to rate my team :)
I wlil definitely use that lando over my trevenant as he walls excadrill too.
I will probably change terrakion too.
thanks alot !

EDIT: changes made to OP, if you have any other suggestions, you're welcome to say it. I'm having a hard time deciding between excadrill and starmie, but I think I'm probably gonna keep excadrill.
