Hello. I have been playing the Gen 6 Meta for the past few weeks, but has had a string of losses. I've put together a new team so that I can put an end to my losing streak. Overall, the team is quite bulky as I want to keep my team alive for as long as possible. I was wondering if I could get some advice.
Currently:
Scizor-Mega @ Scizorite | Technician
Adamant | 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SDef
- Bullet Punch
- Bug Bite
-Roost Swords Dance
- Pursuit
The mega in my team. The main reason I chose Scizor is because it can serve as a Bulky Physical Attacker with its high defenses and overwhelming offense. Bullet Punch has priority. Bug Bite destroys any berry users. Swords Dance boosts Atk and helps for more efficient sweeping. Pursuit is a great move that is there to finish off any fleeing Psychic types. I have also set EVs into SDef so to ease the damage from fire attacks.
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge | Clear Body
Bold | 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Sludge Bomb
- Haze
Tentacruel is there because it can serve a number of different roles. As a Rapid Spinner to take care of those pesky entry hazards. Scald and Sludge Bomb are there to serve as STAB and inflict status when they can. It can also Haze, thus eliminating stat changes on anything that becomes to dangerous after a few state boosts, namely Volcarona. Tentacruel also sports great typing that resist Grass and Fighting type, which are prominent in the metagame.
Sableye @ Leftovers | Prankster
Impish Careful | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Knock Off
My Prankster is here so that it can mess around with a number of teams. Priority Recover, in my opinion, is one of the best forms of recovery out there, and along with Leftovers can keep Sableye in the running for a long time. Will-O-Wisp puts a dent in physical attackers. Taunt puts a stop to status moves. Knock Off takes care of annoying Pokemon with annoying items, such as Weakness Policy Dragonite and Assault Vest Tyranitar.
Zygarde @ Leftovers | Aura Break
Careful | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
- Coil
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Extreme Speed
Zygarde is simply here for unpredictability. Rarely is Zygarde used as its ability seems to only be effective against Xerneas and Yveltal, which are both in Ubers. However it has a great bulk with stellar defenses along with one of the best priority moves in the game. Extreme Speed can out speed everything except other Extreme Speed users. Coil is there to improve bulk as well increase accuracy for Dragon Tail, as it is virtually a Curse without the Spd drop. Dragon Tail phases Pokemon, and does so with STAB, causing damage and abusing the entry hazards as new pokemon are switched in. Earthquake crushes Electric Pokemon that can prove dangerous to Tentacruel.
Umbreon @ Leftovers | Synchronize
Careful | 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Foul Play
The Cleric and Healer of the Team and one of my personal favorites. Its ability, Synchronize, can reflect a status back onto an opponent, while using Heal Bell to heal itself and the rest of the team. It sports a great bulk and can use Wish to heal the team with around 200 HP recovery. Protect is there for guaranteed recovery from the Wish, but can also be switched for Toxic. Foul Play is there so it can kill Aegislash, using its own enormous Atk stat against it.
Skarmory @ Leftovers | Sturdy
Impish | 224 HP / 252 Def / 32 SDef
- Spikes
-Whirlwind Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Brave Bird
The setter of entry hazards and the lead of my team. With Sturdy, it is guaranteed to set up a set of Spikes. It can also choose to set up SR if the opponent has a plethora of flying types. Roost heals Skarmory and takes away Electric weakness, however can prove to be risky as it opens up ground and fighting weakness. Whirlwind can be used as substitute for Roost, phasing Pokemon that try to stat boost. Brave Bird is there to serve as STAB and is the only attack on the set, so that Skarmory isn't bogged down by Taunt.
With the emergence of Fairy-types in the new metagame, half my team is set so to resist it. Hopefully with your reviews and criticisms, I will be able to improve my team and prevent myself from losing for a long time to come.
