Kamehamehaaaa~

Status: After some playtesting, I came up with an improved team. Changes in red.
Peaked at 1357 (and still going!)
Apparently this is really high, a bunch of people said on Pokemon Online. But I'm a beginner, what do I know?

KAMEHAMEHAAAAAAAAA!

Introduction:
Hello Smogon! I will be honest and say I have very little competitive experience. The only experience I've had was battling with my cousins, but those weren't very intense, competitive battles. However, I've been admiring Smogon analysis and RMTs from the side lines ever since Gen IV. I love the community and all the ideas/opinions people from around the world give to amateur battlers, like me, or super top-level battlers. I've finally mustered up my courage and decided to start battling competitively and basically synthesized a team mostly through theorymon from all the RMTs I've been seeing lately. I draw inspiration from U-Turn teams, 2Drag1Mag, and many other ideas. Although I said I came up with this team using theorymon, I have tested it on Pokemon Online through the username, Smiley. At first, I sucked. It was so different. The difficulty of competitive battling compared to recreational battling was a huge shocker for me. I slowly gained some experience and changed the movesets of my pokemon. Finally, I came up with this team I have now. However, I want some advice and opinions from you experienced players. So here is my team and first RMT, Kamahameha~! (Yes, I based my team off of Dragonball Z because I've been addicted to it lately! Haha.)
EDIT: I have been playing Pokemon Online for a week by now and I think I am getting the hang of battling. I mean, heck, first team and first time competitively battling and reaching 1300+ on Pokemon Online, I'm sure that's pretty decent.

Little last note: I have only played it on Pokemon Online, and I've always heard that there are many unexperienced players, like me, on that server, so it may not be the best estimate whether or not my team is viable, but that's what you guys are here for! To make my team viable!

In-Depth:
deoxys_and_its_progeny_by_pinkophilic-d30d3rk.png

Piccolo (Deoxys-S) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Hidden Power (Fire)
- Ice Beam

So my cousins and I have this rule that we don't ever use Legendary Pokemon when we battle. However, since this is competitive battling, I decided to break this rule and try out some Legendary Pokemon that are OU-viable. MAN! Have I been missing out on some awesome pokemon! Deoxys-S is the greatest supporter ever! I use it to lay out hazards and such, while stopping my opponent from setting-up by using Taunt. I gave it Ice Beam as offensive move, so I'm not taunt-bait. Actually, Now I use Hidden Power (Fire) instead in order to kill the many Scizors that think they can come in and nab a free kill with pursuit or free Swords Dance because I'm going to "switch". It's actually pretty good, but I do miss Taunt sometimes, but not too much. Also, a lot of times, Ice Beam gets me out of sticky situations. I usually lead with it, depending on what I see in my opponent's team through Team Preview. Whenever it has done its job, I usually sacrifice it to give my other Pokemon a switch after it faints.
Named it Piccolo because it's an alien... Haha.

dragonite_by_pinkophilic-d2yjrqg.png

Goku (Dragonite) (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 SpDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Extreme Speed

I love Dragonite! So cute, yet so dangerous. Multiscale has finally gave competitive battlers a reason to use him, although, I have been using him a lot even in Gen IV when battling with my cousins. There's nothing really original about this set since it is the standard Offensive Dragon Dance. There are many times I see an opening where I can send out my Dragonite and then start DDing until no one can stop him. The reason why I picked Roost instead of standard, Earthquake, is because I do have Magneton to take care of the steel types (which is usually why Dragonite runs EQ). Roost has helped me out-stall some people and give me many more opportunities to DD (mostly thanks to his ability). I haven't tried running EQ, but I like the moveset as it is. EDIT: I am using Extreme Speed now because I need a priority move since I took out Scizor. It's been working so well and I love it. Extremespeed lets me take so many kills I wouldn't have gotten otherwise (and may even lose without it). I am also contemplating whether or not to replace Fire Punch with Earthquake. I'm doing some more playtesting, but so far there hasn't been a time where EQ is used. Maybe I'll see with more playtesting.
Named him Goku because he is literally the strongest and balanced member of the team!

haxosaurus_by_pinkophilic-d3ju332.png

Vegeta (Haxorus) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Dual Chop

He is so beastly! Even physical walls that don't resist Dragon-type can be defeated with his monstrous attack stats and STAB Outrage. I usually send him out towards mid-end of the battle. Most of the threats to Haxorus are dead by then thanks to the efforts of Magneton and my team. I tend to spam Outrage until my opponents are all dead or until Haxorus dies. He is also the second dragon to the 2Drag1Mag strategy I synthesized into this team. I really can't say much more about him since this is a standard set and I, as I already said, only spam Outrage for the most part.
He is obvious Vegeta because he is such a BEAST and pretty much plows through anyone

latias_by_pinkophilic-d2zzbtg.png

Videl (Latias) @ leftovers (replaced Scizor)
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spe / 4 SpA
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Roar

Blazing fast speeds is so helpful. I tend to use Latias as a revenge killer, but sometimes as a go-to-person because she can take unboosted hits really well (especially when my hyper-offensive team lacks any form of defense). I try to set-up if I can and then phaze them out if the situation is not good for me. But to be honest, she is probably the weakest link of the team. I've been thinking of replacing her, but I need someone that is fast because overall, her speed has helped me win many games. (I was thinking of replacing her with Starmie because it is fast and has rapid spin, something I'm lacking. What do you guys think?)
She is now Videl because she looks like the Great Saiyawoman :D

six_feet_under_by_pinkophilic-d390eth.png

Gohan (Dugtrio) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Reversal

Dugtrio and Magneton literally destroys everything that can get in my dragons way. If I see a heatran, I usually let my dugtrio take care of it because it's almost guaranteed the kill and it's the only steel type my Magneton can't handle so well. The other steel my magneton can't hurt too much is Jirachi and Dugtrio can take care of it too. In summary, Dugtrio is such an invaluable party member because it traps and kills counters to my dragon or it can just act as a revenge killer since it's so fast. The only thing I hate about Dugtrio is it's lacking attack stat... But you can't have everything!
Just because I love Gohan and no one else fits the part, I'll name Dugtrio, Gohan!

three_is_a_crowd_by_pinkophilic-d39lrvk.png

Gotenks (Magneton) @ Eviolite
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 12 HP / 252 SAtk / 244 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Hidden Power (Fire)
- Flash Cannon

To be honest, I've never tried using Magnezone before (so there's a possibility it is better?), but I've seen many people liking Magneton more than it's evolution, so I decided to try it. I love the speed on Magneton and it's the biggest reason to be using him over Magnezone, so I tried to emphasize the need for speed. I also put on an eviolite because it's the other thing that separates it from Magnezone. I copied the EVs from ShakeItUp's Magneton (and I hope that's fine), but my moveset is different than his. At first it was no different than his Magneton, same moveset and all, but it could be due to my inexperience, but it never did it's job properly and always died too quickly. I changed it to this original moveset created by me. I use volt switch if I feel I don't have the advantage or after I killed my opponents steel type and need to switch out of his next pokemon. Thunder, although it's accuracy is sketchy, is too powerful to pass up. I use the rationalization that if Focus Blast is viable, then Thunder must be too since they both have 70% accuracy. Also, when I'm going against rain teams, I get to spam free Thunders too, which is awesome. Hidden Power Fire is for all the steel-types I run into, like Scizor, Ferrothorn, etc. Flash cannon is just another STAB, but find little situations where I actually use it.
It is named Gotenks because it's a fusion of magnemites, like how Gotenks is a fusion of Goten and Trunks!

Importable:
Gohan (Dugtrio) (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Reversal
- Sucker Punch
- Substitute

Vegeta (Haxorus) (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Brick Break
- Dual Chop

Videl (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Roar
- Calm Mind
- Recover

Piccolo (Deoxys-S) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Ice Beam

Goku (Dragonite) (F) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed

Gotenks (Magneton) @ Eviolite
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 12 HP / 252 SAtk / 244 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder
- Flash Cannon

Previous Members
x_scissor_by_pinkophilic-d35u8m5.png

Videl (Scizor) (F) @ Metal Coat
Trait: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- U-Turn
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
- Roost

The first member of the infamous, U-turning duo. She usually functions as a revenge-killer due to her awesome STAB priority, Bullet Punch. Afterwards, depending on my opponent, I'll either use U-Turn or Swords Dance. Many people expect Scizor to be Choice Banded, so I tend to get many opportunities to get in a Swords Dance, or sometimes two. After I get a Swords Dance, I am usually able to sweep or dent most of the opposing team with the combination of my two coverage moves. Roost is there, but I actually find very little use of it on Scizor (as opposed to Dragonite, where I use it more frequently). I am thinking of another coverage move, like Superpower, but I've never came in a situation where Superpower would be used.
Named her Videl because she uses physical moves since she's not a Saiyan.

rotom_motor_full_force_by_pinkophilic-d35xi0t.png

Gohan (Rotom-W) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 SpDef
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power (Ice)
- Trick

Here's another Pokemon I rarely used when playing with my cousins since it's sort of Legendary status. Rotom-W is the second member of the U-turning Duo. It's as standard as standard can be, so it's super predictable. It always seems to be the weakest link since it's so predictable, but that could also be due to my inexperience in battling. I love it nonetheless because there are times where it shines and gives my other pokemon opportunities to set-up and sweep. It is also the only semi-counter to rain I have. I usually Volt Switch to whoever would be best to fight the opposing Pokemon, whether it be Scizor due to synergy or Magneton when fighting a steel time or anyone else for that matter. Rotom-W with choice scarf is my fastest (without use of boosts) speed Pokemon.
I named it Gohan because it and Videl work together to break through the opposing team together as (as seen in the anime) Great Saiyaman and Great Saiyawoman. (They are such a geeky couple! :3 )

Ending Thoughts
I cannot emphasize how much this is my first RMT ever and how inexperienced I am in the competitive world of Pokemon. I took a lot of time to make this RMT, so I hope this RMT was decent and thank you all for taking your time to read it to the end.
And sorry that I accidentally posted this too soon. The most noobiest thing I could do, especially on my first RMT.

you need earthquake on your dragonite, the reason most people run it is to stop heatran not steels in general, and there is no way you can take out a heatran with that magenton so try EQ over fire punch on dragonite

I really do not see much of a defensive core on this team. Hyper-Offense teams are okay, don't take this the wrong way, I have run many Hyper-Offensive teams but I can see this team failing against most stall teams. Taunt seems to be your only defense against entry hazards. You will need a rapid spinner especially because your Taunter also runs a suicide set. In all actuality, I don't know whom to replace or what to replace it with without completely dismantling the team which completely rejects and revokes the purpose of an RMT. My only suggestion is to keep playing with this team and try playing on the Smogon Server.

Also, a note as far a formatting. When presenting an RMT, try to stay as professional looking as possible. I found myself looking at the Over-sized sprites and saying to myself, "Do I really want to read this?" and by the time I got halfway through the page I started to forget who was on your team. Try using smaller sprites and a more uniform format.

Hope this helps, and don't take my word as Gospel, it never will be.

I prefer Fire Punch over EQ, but I'm willing to try to replace Roost with EQ. I'll see how it goes.

Yeah, I'm new to the metagame, so I'm not sure how to do the Hyper Offensive play style well. I'm am okay with having most of my team dismantled, but I really like having magneton. So awesome at taking out steels. If you have any specific advice, that would be most useful.

Also, I fixed the image thing. I just downloaded the pictures and edited them myself, then posted it online.

EDIT: I'm actually thinking of a new team at the moment which utilizes almost all of these people. Planning to replace Scizor and Rotom-W with Dugtrio and Latias. Thinking of hyper offense style by trapping people with dugtrio or magneton in order to give more opportunities for my dragons to sweep. Good idea or not?

I made tons of changes to my original team and I really think it's pretty solid now. I just need help with some threats.

Quagsire seems to give me a lot of problems. It's probably the biggest threat. If I still have Haxorus alive, it can easily plow through quagsire, but without him, I'm pretty much screwed because Dragonite doesn't have enough initial power and his boosts are ignored by Unaware.

Jirachi gives me problems too, but I usually can beat it with Dugtrio as long as I have focus sash still intact. I need some more better counters to Jirachi. I'm trying to put EQ in Dragonite for this reason, because EQ > Fire Punch against Jirachi. I don't remember any time Fire Punch was particularly good, so I'm sure it won't be missed.

Blissey/Chansey take all my special attackers (since I'm sort of high in them) really well. The only people that can take them out are Haxorus and Dragonite. Which are good enough for me, but if you guys have any better suggestions, I'm all ears.

Almost all boosters are a problem, which is why I have Roar for Latias, but I can't always take boosted hits, especially when I would need to switch Latias in. Usually the best way for me to take out boosters is abusing the priority system of Extremespeed and Sucker Punch. Also, usually my focus sash Pokemon.

I really hope you guys take the time to help me improve my team. I've been getting very little advice for something I took so long to make.

I'm too lazy to make any sort of long rate but if you max speed on Magneton it lets you outrun Adamant Gyarados.

Congrats on your rank.

you're going to still die to most hail teams and anything with a scarfed ice-type attack really wins - to add onto that, mostly anything that can outspeed all 3 dragons like starmie and strike with ice beam can do a number as well. there are a few ways to go here, but the best in my opinion is probably something like special defense jirachi or even shadow ball jellicent - these both handle ice-type attacks extremely well (and can wall Kyerum) and both fill unique niches that can help overall. jirachi provides really nice wish support and has a beautiful rock resist (the more that resists cb terraks stone edge the better for a team with ddnite), while jellicent blocks spin and can hard counter more stallish teams with taunt. it also is a little bit more reliable vs mamoswine (who is a HUGE problem for this team). with taunt/recover/scald/shadow ball, you can beautifully shut down those stall teams that were a little annoying (just be sure to use some speed for other jellicent and maybe skarmory!). if you go jirachi, wish support is definitely what you want so body slam/iron head/wish/protect is basic, but it gets the job done effectively. i would focus on your special defense on both pokemon, as it provides much better support.

I actually made a mini change to my RMT... (HP Fire on Deoxys) I forgot to update a few things. I was rushing~
Anyways, thanks you two for the rate. I actually don't know why ShakeItUp put those HP EVs on Magneton, I'm sure there's some big reason since he peaked at 1, but I'll try max speed instead.
I actually like the idea of adding Jirachi. Since I had so much problem with Jirachi, why not use it myself? Haha. Should I replace Latias with Jirachi? Or do you see another weakest link?

[EDIT:] Do you think it'll be weird to run a max HP and max Speed Jirachi? I really want the speed, but I'm not sure if that would just be stupid.

I gave it Ice Beam as offensive move, so I'm not taunt-bait.

This is just my opinion, but being taunt-bait isn't as bad as it seems, if your team is good enough, all you have to do is switch in on a taunt to something that wouldn't use tauntable moves anyway. Also, as long as you run Taunt on Deoxys-s the only viable OU things that'll be able to taunt you are Whimsicot and Tornadus.

i think max speed is fine (although id really just hit enough to outspeed max speed mamoswine and put the rest in hp and whatevers left in sdef or attack) - i would replace latias who you admit is the weak link (theres no need to keep a pokemon you consider a weak link). its really your choice, but i think jira does plug up weaknesses so i hope it helps

So here's the set I've been using for Jirachi since you made the suggestion.

Videl (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 160 SDef / 96 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Wish
- Protect

So it's sort of a love and hate situation. It definitely counters some of people that used to give me trouble, but now I'm also open to new people who give me trouble. One of which is Gliscor. It's immune to status. I used to use Latias' speed and special attack to kill gliscor, but now I usually have to rely on Deoxys-S only. Also, another thing I dislike about Jirachi is that it has like no initial "umph" to it's attacks. But that paralysis is so useful for my other sweepers. I think I just may not know how to use Jirachi well enough. Ranking wise, I've dropped for a while, but now getting it back up. In the 1300s again. I'll try using it a little longer, but I would like some more suggestions on Jirachi or possibly a replacement.

[Edit:] New peak at 1374
