So yeah, I took a long Pokemon break, and a few months ago started playing again. Most of you know me as kholdstaire, and before that Exploud on Netbattle. I've been playing since the Substitute glitch in 2nd gen on Netbattle. Since I got back into the game in January, I've slowly been playing more online (was playing Platinum). I didn't want to post a RMT until I really found a team I'd want to fine tune to perfection.
I love stall. I played it a bit over the years, and, while I don't claim to be the best, 10 years of competitive Pokemon has made me get better with it. So, without further ado, I give you...
@ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 172 HP / 112 Atk / 104 Spd / 120 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Stats: 384 HP / 290 Atk / 236 Def / 262 Spd / 212 SAtk / 266 SDef
- Thunder Wave
- Wish
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head
Jirachi is a great lead. It can almost always survive at least 1 hit to set up Stealth Rock on the first turn, but usually, it won't take over 50%, so that 2nd turn, I can Thunder Wave and start the Iron Head hax. Wish is for team support as well as a good way to survive Magnezone, because a Paralyzed Flinched Magnezone will more than likely not be getting the 3 hits require to KO (unless it is Spec'd). Thunder Wave neuters the Flying type Pokemon that ignore Spikes and Toxic Spikes on Forretress. 384 HP is Leftovers 16 happy, and the 262 Speed is to always outspeed neutral-Speed-natured Gyarados.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 244 HP / 136 Atk / 128 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd) (0 Spd IV)
Stats: 352 HP / 250 Atk / 382 Def / 76 Spd / 156 SAtk / 156 SDef
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball
Sets up Spikes and Toxic Spikes to further fuck with my opponents. Pretty straight forward, imo. 352 HP is perfect for Leftovers.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 172 HP / 112 Atk / 224 Def
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
Stats: 400 HP / 288 Atk / 360 Def / 130 Spd / 154 SAtk / 180 SDef
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Ice Fang
- Slack Off
Zeus would love him if his bolts could tame this defensive beast. God damn. Ice Fang for Gliscor, but I have a bit of a hard time handling other Gyarados, so I'm debating on Thunder Fang and putting Ice Beam on Blissey over Thunderbolt. Roar moves around my opponent to take more entry hazard damage. Perfect Leftovers recovery here too.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 84 HP / 76 Atk / 144 Def / 96 Spd / 108 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Stats: 352 HP / 335 Atk / 230 Def / 222 Spd / 140 SAtk / 263 SDef
- Rest
- Waterfall
- Roar
- Sleep Talk
I love this thing. With Sleep Talk, I can potentially Roar before my opponent does ANYTHING. Hell yeah! 222 Speed to outspeed neutral-Speed-nature Tyranitar. He's a great defensive Pokemon, and a big asset to the team.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 20 HP / 252 Def / 176 SAtk / 60 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
Stats: 656 HP / 50 Atk / 130 Def / 146 Spd / 230 SAtk / 321 SDef
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Thunderbolt
- Flamethrower
Wish for more team support so I can stall out longer. Wish is so goddamn good. Heal Bell to wake up Tyranitar and Gyarados, and also cure any other status. Thunderbolt mostly for Gyarados who thinks he can switch in and fuck with me. Flamethrower for Forretress and Scizor, who think Rapid Spin and Swords Dance is okay to do in Blissey's house. The fat bitch says no. She takes most Special Attacks, and she's got perfect Leftovers recovery so she recovers exactly what she loses from the Sand Storm.
@ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 236 HP / 20 Atk / 116 Def / 136 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
Stats: 400 HP / 339 Atk / 285 Def / 158 Spd / 203 SAtk / 270 SDef
- Curse
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Rest
Yeah son. This motherfucker right here, he surprises people. No one expects a Special Wall Tyranitar. What other Pokemon can get over 400 HP, 300 Atk, and 400 Special Defense? Only this bastard. He can take Starmie 1v1 as long as the star doesn't have Hydro Pump or Specs. He'll laugh at Flamethrower, Crunch or Stone Edge the switch, Rest off damage, then wake up thanks to Heal Bell. He slowly wears the opponent's out. The Sand Stream from him AND Hippowdon make sure my opponent's Pokemon have a harder time surviving the entry hazards and poisoning.
I love this team, but once Gyarados is down, I have Infernape problems. I also have trouble with DD Gyarados and Taunt Gliscor. Suggestions for better EV spreads is greatly appreciated. Any help would be great. Hopefully the guys I've been playing with since Netbattle are still around, I'd love to battle Goofers or VIL.
