Hey everyone, im pretty new to smogon so i didn't really plan on meeting up with any of you guys nor did i recognize anyone. I spent about a month after learning about this tournament preparing and battling and basically learning the ropes of competitive battling. So after a bunch of team changes and tweeks, i thought i had something that would have worked relatively well, and over WiFi, it only lost once.....to Vash last night, lol... I live in Baltimore, and it's about a 2 hour drive from my house to Philly, so i had to wake up quite early. My alarm goes off at 5a.m. and i force myself out of bed and away we go up I-95 north. I arrive at around 7:30 and i stupidly drank a whole 5-hour energy drink thing, thinking it would help me focus..... We then make our way into the center, and dont notice anyone, till i take a look downstairs, and i see the line forming. I make my way down and get in line, and notice Marriland giving orders for everyone to just move towards the main entrance to form a sort of "mob" i guess. So after waiting about 30 mins or so i think they let everyone in earlier then expected.As soon as that happened i guess they changed their minds and wanted everyone to get back into a single file line to make the registration easier so that was fun. Also, when they started letting people in, someone in front of me said "rush the doors", i didn't know if they were trying to mimic zerowing or if it was just a coincidence.. So i get towards the registration area and i notice the pokemon guys walking around, Turtwig was near the line, and i noticed he was on two legs, but he looked funny regardless. So as i approach the table i get my wrist band: # 132 DITTO (which i'm still wearing for some reason :p) I feel pretty confidant with ditto, as he can transform into any pokemon. I then realized that it didn't apply in said situation.

So with some time to kill, my mom and i make our way to the Cafe or whatever that was across the center. We get seated and i noticed about 3 guys or so next to us that could've been smogoners who mention something about staying in a hotel, so i hope at least those who did over night stays etc. got picked. At any rate, at this point the 5 hour is starting to kick in and i start to get the "no" jitters that they advertise and i'm getting really nervous for some reason (which is actually a side effect in adition to the natural nervousness) I precede to eat a half of a bagel, and we begin to walk back for the drawing.... figuring that everyone will crowd the TV's before the drawing, we get a spot right in front of one about 45mins before. I then notice a little kid that walked by with a wrist band that had a 515 sharpied on it, and i realized how slim my chances were. So the drawing draws nearer and more people crowd, resulting in many unpleasant oders, etc. as there were WAY too many people. So the numbers come up and sadly: No Ditto.
My hopes and dreams......CRUSHED
I wait around to double check naturally, but to no avail... We then attempt to navigate our way towards the milotic table, which was just too big of a line for me to stand, so i left. I didn't understand why they didn't do the giveaway the way they do the ones at Toys r' Us via wireless or whatever but i didn't care for a milotic anyway. So deciding not to make a total waste of the day, my mom and i decide to head over to Strasburg PA for some fine Amish treats, etc. It was a pretty fun day, even with out playing, i just really hope they can redo the rules for next year, as I'm sure everyone thinks by now. At this point i'm depressed and tird, as i guess now the "no" crash is starting to set in from the 8300% of Vitamin B12 and 1000% of Vitamin B6 that made my anus feel like it was about to implode. (sorry for the language and imagery :p )And thats about it, sorry if it wan't a true warstory but it was a story indeed, and i just wanted to share....

Overall, i learned alot today, like Nintendo can't run a tournament too well, little kids can be very annoying, fat nerds can be very smelly, and energy supplements etc. will probably just end up destroying your innards. Oh and by the way all the pics belong to pokemon, i think it said something like that on the consent form :p

I couldnt get a picture, but he looked pissed, he more than likely didn't get in.. This is him by the way, in dallas i think, taken by alakapimp; hes standing up in the middle :
