King Jeremy

Have a new team usually when I stop battling for 1 month I can't use my team building skills right away cause I am brain dead, now I have my team so rate it. This team is for the Standard Metagame.

ShinyGengar.png

Gengar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 44 HP / 252 SpA / 214 Spe
Nature: Modest (+ SpA, - Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power (Ice)
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt

I love Choice Scarf Gengar, I decided not to max out Speed because I figure I only want just enough to outspeed the Mixed Attacker Speed Form Deoxys. Focus Blast is to take care of Tyranitar and Weavile which OHKOs both (inless of course Tyranitar is running a Careful Nature with 252 HP and 216 SpD EVs). Hidden Power (Ice) makes it easier to handle the Dragon-type Pokemon, while Thunderbolt is good against Gyarados, other bulky Water-type Pokemon, and Crobat.

Breloom.png

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 172 HP / 16 Atk / 112 Def / 16 Spe / 194 SpD
Nature: Adamant (+ Atk, - SpA)
- Spore
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Focus Punch

I love this Breloom, sure I can't touch Ghost-type Pokemon, but they will not enjoy taking Leech Seed. Spore of course is here to put Flying-type Pokemon and Levitators out of action that are immune to Toxic Spikes. Substitute is always nice for scouting and allows Breloom to pull off the Focus Punch. This EV Spread is weird but it allows Breloom to surive a non Choice Banded Outrage from Garchomp, and Psychic from Cresselia, not even Calm Mind Blissey can 3HKO this with Ice Beam. Credit goes to Cuteslims for this moveset.

Gyarados.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 30 Def / 228 Spe
Nature: Jolly (+ Spd, - SpA)
- Dragon Dance
- Stone Edge
- Substitute
- Waterfall

This is a very dangerous Gyarados, he has the ability to outrun Adamant Heracross and Lucario without a Dragon Dance. Substitute is a very cool move because it allows you to scout, and it also allows you to set up on Pokemon like Forretress and Bronzong and start setting up Dragon Dance. Thank you Eternal.

Salamence.png

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 120 Atk / 138 Spe / 252 SpA
Nature: Mild (+ SpA, - Def)
- Brick Break
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast
- Roost

Mix Mence is just awesome, Brick Break 2HKOs Blissey, and Draco Meteor is the most powerful move in Mix Mence's movepool. I am using Fire Blast and just going out of my way and saying screw Flamethrower I will take my chance with power over accuracy. Roost is a pretty cool move healing HP from the damage of Life Orb recoil.

Blissey.png

Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 42 SpA / 216 SpD
Nature: Calm (+ SpD, - Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Softboiled

The best Special Wall really whats much to explain. Aromatherapy is a great move because it cures status from my team members. Ice Beam is for hitting the Dragons, some of you may be asking "Why the **** I'm I using Toxic when my Forretress has Toxic Spikes?" Well thats easy Toxic on Blissey makes it a living hell for Pokemon like Zapdos and Cresselia.

ShinyForretress.png

Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def
Nature: Relaxed (+ Def, - Spe)
- Rest
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Gyro Ball

Forretress is a great Physical Wall and it can set up pretty easily. Come in on Skarmory or Bronzong, sure if it wants to use Hypnosis I have Blissey to cure status. Toxic Spikes messes up many walls, and to the Levitators and Flying Pokemon Blissey messes them up with Toxic. Rapid Spin here is to get rid of Stealth Rock so Gyarados and Salamence can do something.

To start, I would say that leading with ScarfGar is essentially asking for a kill, as any pursuiter can come in and KO. Secondly, with the number of Bronzong leads, ScarfGar is hardly a threat that can take it out. It's better to reserve ScarfGar for revenge killing later in the game. As I said, you don't want to lose it to CBTar or something of the sort.

First thing I notice is that you are fairly Mamoswine weak. It can OHKO/2HKO 4 out of the 6 members on your team. Forretress can only come in for so long, and with no wish support, a smart Mamoswine player can pick apart your team one by one. I think Bronzong is a nice replacement for Breloom. Breloom seems like it does nothing for this team other than provide a few turns for you to stall. Stuff like Gyarados can come in and start setting up on the set you have, which doesn't bode well for this type of team structure. Although standard, Bronzong provides you a much better lead as well, getting Stealth Rocks up early and possibly putting stuff to sleep. Stealth Rock will help you fight off those Flying types that are immune to Toxic Spikes as well.

Thanks I'm always thankful for your help bball I was thinking the same about Breloom after posting this topic for a few mins.

Also, forgot to mention that you have a relatively large Gyarados problem. After a DD, you have nothing that can come in on it. Maybe Starmie would be a nice fit for this team, thought it would have to go over Forretress and you lose your toxic spikes. That or add Explosion over Rest for a last ditch effort of sorts.

Well first of all, scarfgar makes a terrible lead, as any of the common leads such as bronzong, zam, weavile, ttar etc. will tear it apart. It would be in your better interest to save it for later on in the game where it can revenge kill/ reek havoc on your opponents weakened pokes.

You have a couple of major weaknesses in this team.(Infernape, Scarfchomp, and Mamoswine.) Ape OHKOS 4 of your pokes right off the bat. Scarfchomp 1-2HKOS everything on your team, and Mamoswine 1-2HK0S everything on your team. As Twist of fate mentioned, Breloom seems like the oddball in this team, seeing as he doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot to help you out. It would be a good choice to replace it with a vaporeon in my opinion, as that can help to take care of the three main threats I mentioned above; as long as you use proper prediction.

Secondly, Rest is never a good choice on forretress, as it really isn't that strong of a wall due to its many weaknesses. Definitely go with explosion over rest for once you finish setting up/ rapid spinning. Gyro ball really isn't necessary either, and I would definitely choose stealth rock over it. Having stealth rock on the field is, IMO, very important (if not essential) to have.

Overall, I think you have a good basis of a team, and I hope you will appreciate my advice.
