Klinklang is a very unique and threatning sweeper because of its access to Shift Gear and a solid stab and coverage moves. Its Steel typing gives it a few useful resistances, which, when paired with its good natural bulk, allows it to set up on many threatening Pokemon such as Garbodor, Eldegoss or Abomasnow. The EV's given allows Klinklang to have as much bulk as possible aswell as outspeeding pokemon with base 105 and after a Shift Gear it makes it a very fearsome sweeper, allowing it to surpass all non scarfed and even scarfed pokemons such as Rapidash or Togedemaru. Shift Gear boosts Klinklang's Attack by one stage and its Speed by 2 stages, making it a very fearsome sweeper. Gear Grind is Klinklang's main STAB move and the move to prioritise when attacking; thanks to being a double hit move it allows Klinklang to kill easier Substitute or Focus Sash users such as Cursola or Butterfree. Wild Charge is able to do a good amount of damage to Pokemon that resist Gear Grind, such as Wishiwashi and Perrserker, when boosted. Protect is also an option to scout for moves and also get one extra turn of leftovers. Substitute is a phenomenal move when predicting an status move allowing Klinklang to boost versus Pokemon such as Ferroseed or Eldegoss. Is it a good advice to try to preserve Klinklang until mid/late-game for having its common checks chipped down. However, Klinklang has issues in breaking common threats in the metagame. For this reason Klinklang apreciates being teamed with pokemons such as Garbodor who can set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes, which force common answers to Klinklang to take a lot of damage, and can also chip common checks to klinklang such as Togedemaru or Toxicroak. Wishiwashi is incredibly bulky and able to take on most Fire- and Ground-types, which are Pokemon that Klinklang generally struggles against. Flapple, Whimsicott can pressure Pokemon that resist Steel-types like Lanturn, Rotom-Fan and Stunfisk-Galar. Persian-Alola can easily bring in Klinklang with U-turn or Parting Shot. It can also lure in Stunfisk-Galar and Toxicroak and remove their items with Knock Off.
