Krilowatt [cap]

Krilowatt @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power

Krilowatt is an incredibly potent pivot in the CAP metagame. Its wide coverage allows it to threaten Grass-types like Tangrowth and Ground-types like Garchomp and Landorus-T, which are commonly used to check Electric-types, as well as other Pokemon like Heatran and Magearna. It also has access to Magic Guard, giving it a lot more opportunities to switch in comfortably without fear of hazards. This coupled with its incredibly high HP allows it to soft check many offensive Pokemon such as Kitsunoh and Volkraken. However, it's still quite weak and usually fails to pick up OHKOs or 2HKOs against Pokemon that it can't hit super effectively. As such, it's wise to pair it with Spikes setters like Ferrothorn, Greninja, and Arghonaut to wear the opposition down. It's also important to use another Tornadus-T check like Magearna and Mega Diancie. Even though Krilowatt can take Hurricane well, Tornadus-T always carry Knock Off, and Krilowatt relies a lot on its Life Orb to break through Pokemon.

Krilowatt is an incredibly potent pivot in the current CAP metagame. Thanks to its wide coverage it can threaten Grass-types such as Tangrowth, which are commonly used to check Electric-type Pokemon, as well as other common Pokemon like Heatran and Magearna (Threatens grounds too, this is important and ties into why it's such a good pivot). It also has access to Magic Guard, turning it immune to hazard damage, giving it a lot more opportunities to switch in comfortably. Couple this with its incredibly high base HP stat, and it can soft check many offensive Pokemon such as Mega Alakazam and Volkraken (Kril's Mzam calcs are pretty poor, maybe something like Kitsunoh would be better here?). Although Krilowatt has wide coverage, it's still quite weak and usually fails to pick up OHKOs or 2HKOs against Pokemon that it can't hit super effectively. As such, it's wise to pair Krilowatt with Spikes setters like Ferrothorn, Greninja, and Arghonaut to wear the opposition down. It's also important to use another Tornadus-T check (Examples maybe?). Even though Krilowatt can take Hurricane relatively well, Tornadus-T always carry Knock Off, and Krilowatt relies a lot on its Life Orb to break through Pokemon, so you usually will not want to switch it into Tornadus-T.
