Landorus-T is one of the best Choice Scarf users in the metagame. Its ability to act as a team's Ground-type and answer to fast threats alongside its generally good power and utility moves makes it very easy to put on many teams. It gives teams offensive and defensive weapons against threats such as Heatran, Toxapex, and Tapu Koko. U-turn allows Landorus-T to keep up the momentum and take advantage of the switches it forces from common Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Toxapex, and Heatran. Stone Edge 2HKOes Zapdos, OHKOes Moltres, and allows Landorus-T to revenge kill Mega Charizard Y. Knock Off, on the other hand, removes important items from the likes of Slowbro, Zapdos, Moltres, Tapu Fini, and Tangrowth. Punishment allows Landorus-T to deal with Calm Mind Mega Latias, 2HKOing it after a Calm Mind, as well as Calm Mind Reuniclus. It works especially well with teammates that force Mega Latias to use Calm Mind multiple times, such as Corviknight. Explosion allows Landorus-T to deal more damage to certain threats, such as Garchomp, Gliscor, Kommo-o, and Rotom-W; however, keep in mind that all of them require chip damage before being KOed. Defog can be used if the role compression of having revenge killing and hazard removal in the same teamslot is needed. Unfortunately, being locked into Defog gives foes free turns. Hidden Power Ice can be used to threaten opposing Landorus-T and Garchomp. Earth Power can work on teams that are desperately in need of a reliable Kartana revenge killer and need Landorus-T's role compression. A neutral nature and 76 Special Attack EVs should be run in this case in order to secure the OHKO on Kartana. 232 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature are used to outrun +1 Excadrill.

Bulky Water-types, such as Slowbro and Toxapex, work well with Landorus-T. Slowbro can also form a pivoting core with Landorus-T with Teleport, while Toxapex is capable of taking on Ash-Greninja for Landorus-T. These Water-types also appreciate Landorus-T's Electric immunity, and Toxapex also appreciates the Ground immunity. Strong wallbreakers such as Mega Medicham, Mega Mawile, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele appreciate Landorus-T solidly handling fast threats for them and pivoting them in with U-turn. Mega Mawile and Kyurem are capable of taking advantage of Slowbro, a physical sponge that can generally pivot into Landorus-T safely, and Kyurem can additionally deal with Zapdos. Choice Scarf Landorus-T will get worn down over the course of a game, so having Defog support in the form of Corviknight, Zapdos, or Kartana is very helpful. Corviknight can also force Mega Latias to use Calm Mind multiple times, which can work well with Punishment Landorus-T.

[SET COMMENTS]
Defensive Landorus-T gives teams an interim measure against threats such as Mega Mawile, Mega Medicham, and Mega Lopunny while also being a good utility Pokemon in general. Landorus-T is capable of setting Stealth Rock for its team, which allows it to make use of the switches that it forces against the aforementioned threats. U-turn is useful, as it lets Landorus-T pivot out of bad matchups against Corviknight and Slowbro. Toxic is used to punish threats such as opposing Landorus-T, Mega Latias, Kyurem, and Slowbro that might look to come in on Landorus-T. Hidden Power Fire is a viable option for teams that need a buffer against Kartana. Rocky Helmet is preferred to punish U-turn from the likes of opposing Landorus-T, Mega Lopunny, and Corviknight, as well as general contact moves from threats such as Mega Medicham and Mega Mawile. 144 Speed EVs allows Landorus-T to outrun Modest Heatran. Alternate Speed investments, such as 16 Speed EVs for Tyranitar or 88 for Bisharp, are viable if you want Landorus-T to have more bulk, but missing out on Modest Heatran can be detrimental considering how common it is.

Defensive Landorus-T finds its place on more offensive builds that appreciate it checking threats such as Mega Medicham and Mega Lopunny while also keeping up momentum and setting Stealth Rock. Landorus-T is very effective at spreading residual damage onto threats such as Landorus-T and Mega Mawile, which fast offensive Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Mega Lopunny, and Weavile enjoy, as it allows them to get past these threats much more easily. Landorus-T has no recovery and somewhat mediocre special bulk, both of which make it vulnerable to special attackers such as Clefable, Heatran, and Tapu Lele. The good special bulk of Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Slowking makes them decent partners as a result. Other Water-types, such as Tapu Fini and Slowbro, also enjoy Landorus-T's defensive presence. Strong wallbreakers such as Mega Mawile, Ash-Greninja, and Mega Medicham appreciate Landorus-T wearing down faster, frailer offensive Pokemon and safely pivoting them in.

[SET COMMENTS]
Landorus-T is one of the best suicide leads in the tier due to its powerful Explosion denying attempts from the likes of Corviknight, Zapdos, and Tapu Fini to remove its hazards via Defog, and Swords Dance boosting Earthquake and Explosion can let it take one or more opposing Pokemon down with it. Swords Dance boosts Landorus-T's Attack to titanic levels, allowing Earthquake to do enormous damage to even bulky neutral targets and making Explosion much more powerful, notably allowing it to OHKO Zapdos, Gliscor, and Slowbro while doing over 50% to Corviknight. Focus Sash lets Landorus-T live one hit from full, allowing it to get Stealth Rock up reliably in most situations.

Suicide Lead Landorus-T fits well on hyper offense teams that need to get the game started with a bang and keep Stealth Rock up if possible. Landorus-T is a great lead, as it matches up well against the vast majority of entry hazard removal options. The only notable ways to stop Landorus-T from getting Stealth Rock up are a faster Taunt user, such as Mew, or a Magic Bounce user such as Mega Sableye. Hyper offense teams utilizing Choice Scarf Victini can also make Victini the lead instead, as Landorus-T tends to trade Stealth Rock with opposing Stealth Rock setters, and it can be therefore more valuable at times to deny the opponent's Stealth Rock first and send in Landorus-T next. This pair can also take two foes with it quite easily. Staple sweepers on hyper offense such as Mega Gyarados, Belly Drum Kommo-o, Mega Garchomp, and Rillaboom are good teammates, as they all appreciate Stealth Rock wearing down the opposition and Landorus-T opening up a big hole with Explosion early-game.

[SET COMMENTS]
Offensive Stealth Rock Landorus-T serves as one of the best pure wallbreakers in the metagame while also being one of the tier's more reliable Stealth Rock setters. It matches up well against common entry hazard removers like Tapu Fini and Corviknight, and it also uses its ability to force out common Pokemon like Heatran and Excadrill to either set Stealth Rock or set up a Swords Dance. Swords Dance Landorus-T is also one of the best Pokemon for breaking stall teams, as the immense power combined with a Z-Move makes checking Landorus-T quite hard for them, even with Unaware Pokemon such as Clefable and Quagsire. Fly with Flyinium Z allows Landorus-T to smash through common defensive Pokemon like Slowbro and Tangrowth after a boost. Stone Edge with Rockium Z, on the other hand, lets Landorus-T directly threaten common Defoggers like Corviknight and Zapdos while also allowing it to break through Rotom-W with greater efficiency. It also still has enough power to OHKO Tapu Fini at +2. Its targets are rather limited, however, which makes Flyinium Z the overall superior choice. The Rockium Z set also faces competition from Garchomp, which sits at a significantly better Speed tier that gives it the jump on Mega Medicham, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Hydreigon, but Landorus-T retains a niche due to compressing a Ground immunity and getting better damage rolls against Corviknight.

Late-game cleaners are excellent partners for Landorus-T, as they greatly appreciate Landorus-T weakening or straight up removing bulkier Pokemon while also setting up Stealth Rock. Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and Tapu Koko make for good teammates in this regard. Ash-Greninja also forms a dangerous hazard-setting duo while appreciating Landorus-T’s ability to defeat Toxapex, Blissey, Tangrowth, and Tapu Fini. U-turn variants of Ash-Greninja can also be employed to get Landorus-T in safely and exploit Pokemon such as Toxapex and Blissey. Mega Lopunny appreciates Landorus-T’s ability to weaken Corviknight and Zapdos, letting them wreak havoc later on. Landorus-T appreciates pivot support that can get it in safely. Blissey, Mega Scizor, and Slowbro are good partners as a result. Magnezone also stands out as an exemplary partner, as it can take out Corviknight and Skarmory for Landorus-T, allowing it to use its Z-Move on other targets. Landorus-T's teammates can be tuned depending on what Z-Crystal it is using. Pokemon that appreciate Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Hippowdon removed make for good partners for the Flyinium Z variant, with Mega Lopunny working in this regard. Teammates that appreciate the removal or denting of Pokemon such as Corviknight, Rotom-W, and Zapdos work well as partners for the Rockium Z set. These include Kartana, Mega Scizor, and Mega Lopunny.

Other Options
=============

Hidden Power Ice can be used on the defensive set to threaten opposing Landorus-T and Garchomp while also breaking Hawlucha's Substitutes, but it's difficult to fit on the set unless your team has another Stealth Rock setter. A set utilizing Substitute, Swords Dance, Earthquake, and Smack Down with Groundium Z can be used to take advantage of Body Press Corviknight and Skarmory. Bulky sets carrying Fly with Flyinium Z and U-turn can be useful, as they allow Landorus-T to threaten immediate damage onto offensive Pokemon, such as Mega Medicham and Rillaboom. It also takes advantage of the standard bulky pivot sets tending to lure in Tangrowth. However, the loss of Toxic and Rocky Helmet makes this set worse against Pokemon such as Mega Latias and Mega Mawile.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Slowbro is capable of forcing damage onto Landorus-T and potentially burning it with Scald while also eating unboosted hits rather comfortably, although it fears Toxic and a boosted Supersonic Skystrike. Offensive Water-types such as Ash-Greninja, Manaphy, and Mega Swampert are all capable of threatening Landorus-T with their STAB moves as well, although Ash-Greninja can't switch into any set and the other two must be careful of Z-Moves or Explosion.

**Ice-types and Ice-type Coverage**: Landorus-T's quadruple Ice weakness means that any Ice-type move will deal heavy damage, if not OHKO. Weavile and Kyurem both outspeed non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T and OHKO it with a STAB move. In addition, Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Mega Medicham can carry Ice-type moves, allowing them to threaten Landorus-T with enormous damage.

**Ground-immune Pokemon**: Corviknight only fears Knock Off from the Choice Scarf and Defensive sets and can proceed to remove Landorus-T's Stealth Rock rather comfortably. Gliscor doesn't even fear Knock Off, but it must be careful of Swords Dance variants. Rotom-W is threatened by a stray Toxic but can force out Landorus-T with its STAB Hydro Pump. Skarmory can use Landorus-T to freely set up Spikes. However, all of these Pokemon must be cautious of the Rockium Z set, and the rare Smack Down variant completely invalidates all of these as answers.

**Residual Damage**: Landorus-T is rather susceptible to residual damage, as it is often tasked with checking several prominent threats on the opposing team. This, in conjunction with a vulnerability to Stealth Rock, leads to Landorus-T being worn down rather easily over the course of a game.

Landorus-T serves as an effective Stealth Rocker while also acting as an excellent early game wallbreaker thanks to its great attack stat and access to Swords Dance. As a Stealth Rocker, it matches up well against common entry hazard removers like Corviknight and Zapdos, while it also uses its ability to force out common Pokemon like Heatran and Excadrill to either set Stealth Rock or set up a Swords Dance. Swords Dance is needed to give Landorus-T the hike in power it needs to effectively wallbreak. -fluff- Fly with Flyinium Z allows Landorus-T to smash through common Defensive Pokemon like Slowbro, Gliscor, Hippowdon, and Tangrowth with a boosted Z-Move. Stone Edge with Rockium Z, on the other hand, gives Landorus-T an excellent matchup against common the ability to directly threaten common -Flyinium Z's matchup against Corviknight and non-HP Ice Zapdos is still very positive, so this is a more accurate wording- Defoggers like Zapdos and Corviknight, while also allowing it to break through Rotom-H and Rotom-W with greater efficiency. It also still has enough power to OHKO Tapu Fini at +2. Keep in mind that the Rockium Z set also faces competition from Garchomp, which sits at a significantly better speed tier that gives it the jump on Hydreigon, Mega Medicham, and the Mega Charizards, but Landorus-T's ability to compress a Ground-immunity and get better damage rolls against Corviknight while also Intimidating it and resisting Body Press gives it a niche in this regard.

Late game cleaners are excellent partners for Landorus-T, as they greatly appreciate Landorus-T weakening or straight up removing bulkier Pokemon while also setting up hazards. Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and Dragapult -Dragapult doubles up on the Z-slot; something like Cinderace and Choice Scarf Kartana makes more sense- make for good teammates in this regard. Landorus-T appreciates VoltTurn pivoting support that can get it in safely. Rotom-H -not very relevant, Corviknight and Blissey are better mentions-, Mega Scizor, and Teleport Slowbro are good partners as a result. Landorus-T's teammates can be tuned depending on what Z-Move it is using. Pokemon that appreciate Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Hippowdon removed make for good partners for the Flyinium Z variant, with Ash-Greninja -Ash-Greninja has no trouble breaking through any of those by itself- Cinderace and Mega Lopunny working in this regard. Choice Scarf Landorus-T's good Speed tier, decent defensive utility, and access to useful moves such as Defog, Knock Off, and Explosion makes it one of the metagame's best Choice Scarf users. Stone Edge provides good coverage alongside Earthquake and allows Landorus-T to hit Pokemon such as Zapdos and Rotom-H, and revenge kill Mega Charizard Y. U-turn allows Landorus-T to maintain momentum against checks, pivot its teammates in and also threatens a lot of damage onto threats such as Alakazam and Hydreigon in the process. Defog is a good last move that allows Choice Scarf Landorus-T to compress speed and hazard control into one teamslot. Landorus-T also has a good matchup against Garchomp and Stealth Rock variants of Heatran, making it a serviceable Defogger against teams utilizing it them as their Stealth Rock setter. However, Landorus-T doesn't particularly like being locked into it, as it can give the opponent an opportunity, as Landorus-T will likely be forced out after using the move. Knock Off allows Landorus-T to cripple Pokemon such as Corviknight, Ferrothorn, Rotom-H, and Zapdos, all of which rely heavily on their item. Explosion is a decent tool as a last ditch effort attempt to remove Pokemon such as Hydreigon, Mega Latios, Rotom-W, and Gliscor from the picture, but most of its targets are not guaranteed to be OHKOed by it, and some, like Gliscor, need significant chip done first. 156 Speed EVs allows Choice Scarf Landorus-T to outrun unboosted Dragapult, while the HP and Defense EVs allow Landorus-T to avoid the 2HKO from Kartana after Stealth Rock damage.

Defog variants of Choice Scarf Landorus-T fit very well on teams that need to fit Speed control and hazard control into the same slot. U-turn and (if it's being run) Knock Off are both very good options to throw out in the early stages of the game; U-turn is good for keeping up the momentum and slowly wearing down Pokemon such as Rotom-H, while Knock Off is good to cripple Pokemon such as Clefable, Zapdos, Slowbro, and Blissey. Choice Scarf Landorus-T's moves are generally quite exploitable if Landorus-T gets locked into them. -examples of which Pokemon takes advantage of what move would paint a better picture than just one general statement- As such, a good defensive backbone is necessary. Slowbro functions quite well with Choice Scarf Landorus-T as a result, and it can use Teleport to form a Voltturn pivoting core with it while also using Future Sight to force the opponent into very uncomfortable situations. Other staples of defensive cores such as Ferrothorn, Tangrowth, Heatran, and Rotom-H Clefable work well as well. Strong wallbreakers, such as Nasty Plot Hydreigon, Swords Dance Kartana, and Mega Medicham appreciate Landorus-T pivoting them in and crippling their defensive answers with Knock Off or slowly wearing them down with U-turn. In turn, they can take advantage of some Pokemon that switch into Landorus-T with impunity, such as Corviknight and Gliscor.

As such, a good defensive backbone is necessary. Slowbro functions quite well with Choice Scarf Landorus-T as a result, and it can use Teleport to form a pivoting core with it while also using Future Sight to force the opponent into very uncomfortable situations. Other staples of defensive cores(AC), such as Ferrothorn, Tangrowth, Heatran, and Clefable work well as well.(AC), also work well. Strong wallbreakers, such as Nasty Plot Hydreigon, Swords Dance Kartana, and Mega Medicham(AC), appreciate Landorus-T pivoting them in and either crippling their defensive answers with Knock Off or slowly wearing them down with U-turn. In turn, they can take advantage of some Pokemon that switch into Landorus-T with impunity, such as Corviknight and Gliscor.

This is generally speaking the best EV spread in my opinion. It's not 2HKOed by Cinderace after 1 round of Stealth Rock, and also avoids being OHKOed by Choice Band Melmetal. Defog definitely deserves to be slashed too; it is easily one of the best crutch options for offensive teams while facing Spikes stacking teams.

[SET COMMENTS]
Landorus-T is one of the best Choice Scarf users in the metagame. Its typing, ability, good all-around stats, and useful utility moves gives it notable offensive and defensive utility What offensive and defensive utility? This doesn't really give me an idea. makes it one of the easiest speed control options to fit on many teams. U-turn allows Landorus-T to keep up the momentum and take advantage of the switches it forces onto common Pokemon such as Cinderace, Toxapex, Magearna, and Heatran. Stone Edge 2HKOs Zapdos, OHKOs Moltres, and allows Landorus-T to revenge kill Mega Charizard Y. Knock Off, on the other hand, allows Landorus-T to remove important items from the likes of Slowbro, Zapdos, Moltres, and Tapu Fini. Punishment allows Landorus-T to deal with Calm Mind Mega Latias; Punishment 2HKOs after Mega Latias has used Calm Mind once. Note that this option works exceptionally well with Pokemon that can force Mega Latias to use Calm Mind multiple times if it really wants to get anything done, such as Corviknight. Explosion allows Landorus-T to deal more damage to certain threats, such as Kommo-o, Rotom-W, Garchomp, and Gliscor; however, keep in mind that none of them are outright removed by the move and will require chip before being KOd. This also, annoyingly, comes at the cost of Landorus-T's own life. Defog can be used if the compression is needed, and Landorus-T matches up well against Stealth Rock setters like Heatran and Tyranitar. Its matchup against common entry hazard setters honestly doesn't matter. Defog is simply a crutch option for teams that are weak to entry hazard stacking teams. Unfortunately, being locked into Defog is not preferable, as it can give the opponent an opportunity to do whatever they want as Landorus-T removes the hazards. 232 Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature are used to outrun +1 Excadrill. Don't forget to talk about the other EVs here.

Not even mentioning Hidden Power Ice is a little odd in my opinion with just how strong Landorus-T is. Being able to force it out is often quite useful. Earth Power may deserve a mention too.

Landorus-T fits on a wide variety of teams thanks to the unique role compression that it offers them. It's ability to act as a team's Ground-type, speed control, generally good power, and utility moves gives it this distinction and allows it to give teams offensive and defensive weapons against threats such as Cinderace, Heatran, Toxapex, and Tapu Koko. Most of this is out of place here and should be specified in the first paragraph, as that makes much more sense. Landorus-T's ability to provide teams some buffer against the extremely dangerous Cinderace is much appreciated, however it is not a perfect answer to it on its own due to its inability to actively prevent it from pivoting out as Landorus-T comes in. Its general longevity is much more of an issue than Cinderace clicking U-turn; Landorus-T takes ~40% from Pyro Ball and that can really quickly add up, especially if Stealth Rock is up. A bulky Water-type that is capable of checking Cinderace, such as Slowbro or Toxapex, is therefore a great option to have in the back. Slowbro can also form a pivoting core with Landorus-T with Teleport, while Toxapex is capable of taking on Ash-Greninja for Landorus-T should it end up locked into the wrong move as Ash-Greninja comes in. Strong wallbreakers appreciate Landorus-T acting as solid speed control for them and pivoting them in with U-turn. Cinderace, Choice Specs Magearna, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele all work here. Cinderace and Choice Specs Magearna in particular are capable of taking advantage of Corviknight, which Choice Scarf Landorus-T tends to draw in, while the latter three are also capable of taking advantage of Slowbro, another common physical sponge.

You should add reliable Defog users here too. Landorus-T is quickly worn down with Stealth Rock on the field so it's good to keep the entry hazard off as much as possible.

[SET COMMENTS]
Defensive Landorus-T is one of the best available checks to Cinderace while also giving teams some options against other threats such as Mega Mawile, Mega Medicham, and Mega Lopunny. Landorus-T is also capable of setting Stealth Rock for its team, which allows it to make use of the switches that it forces onto the aforementioned threats. U-turn is useful, as it lets Landorus-T pivot out of bad matchups and it has a relatively slow U-turn, which can give its teammates opportunities. It doesn't really and if you aren't going to be specific about the matchups where it matters, then this isn't worth even mentioning. What bad matchups? Toxic is used to punish threats such as Zapdos, Moltres, and Slowbro that might look to come in on Landorus-T. Mega Latias is one of the most important targets and Kyurem may be worth mentioning too because it's one of the biggest threats to the teams defensive Landorus-T tends to find itself on. Opposing Landorus-T is one of the most important targets too. The former two are especially critical, as they threaten to remove Landorus-T's Stealth Rock pretty easily otherwise. Knock Off can be used over Toxic to remove important items from Pokemon such as Zapdos, Tapu Fini, Moltres, and Kyurem, but Toxic punishes most of these anyway. Knock Off is really not good. Rocky Helmet is preferred to punish U-turn from the likes of Cinderace and Mega Lopunny, as well as general contact moves from threats such as Mega Medicham. Punishing generally weak Pokemon like Corviknight is very important too. 144 Speed EVs allows Landorus-T to outrun Modest Heatran.

There's other benchmarks for Speed that should be mentioned too, such as 16 Speed EVs for Tyranitar or 88 Speed EVs for Bisharp. Hidden Power Fire should be mentioned too because it strengthens your Kartana matchup, which is particularly important for the offensive teams you'll most commonly find defensive Landorus-T on.

Defensive Landorus-T fits very well on standard balance teams due to the important defensive utility it provides them by checking the likes of Cinderace and Mega Lopunny. I don't agree. Defensive Landorus-T is a much better fit on more offensively geared teams where Landorus-T's lacking longevity doesn't matter so much and where the momentum it generates is more useful. On balance teams, Garchomp is often preferable because of its resistance to Fire. Landorus-T has no recovery and somewhat mediocre special bulk, both of which can be abused by Special Attackers such as Magearna, Heatran, and Ash-Greninja. Landorus-T's matchup against Ash-Greninja would not be better if it had recovery or better special bulk. It's not a Pokemon that makes sense in this context. Teammates such as Blissey, Ferrothorn, and Specially Defensive Heatran can shore up this general weakness. None of these teammates besides maybe Ferrothorn make sense in the context of the teams you'll find defensive Landorus-T on. These Pokemon appreciate Landorus-T checking Cinderace, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Medicham lacking Ice Punch. Ice-types and Water-types, such as Weavile, Kyurem, and Mega Swampert. What? Bulky Water-types can help out against these threats; Weavile can be taken care of by Toxapex and Tapu Fini, while Slowbro can deal with Mega Swampert. Kyurem requires somewhat different defensive counterplay due to it often running Freeze-Dry, so Pokemon such as Corviknight can help out in that regard. Strong wallbreakers, such as Mega Mawile, Ash-Greninja, Mega Charizard Y, and Cinderace are quite good partners as a result; Mega Charizard Y and Cinderace are especially nice, as Landorus-T has a tendency to draw in Corviknight.

This paragraph is frankly bad and does not paint an accurate picture of where and when you'll use defensive Landorus-T. This paragraph should talk about the following things:
  • Accurately describe the teams Landorus-T fits best on; offense.
  • Talk about Pokemon that benefit from Landorus-T spreading chip damage with its Rocky Helmet. Mega Mawile and Cinderace come to mind because they tend to bait in Landorus-T. Punishing it with your own Landorus-T's Rocky Helmet can quickly make them spiral out of control.
  • Talk about Pokemon that compliment Landorus-T defensively; they'll usually form a strong momentum grabbing core. Make sure that the Pokemon make sense within the context of the teams you'll find defensive Landorus-T on.
  • Lastly, Pokemon that can take advantage of the Pokemon Landorus-T tends to bait in are important too.

[SET COMMENTS]
Landorus-T is one of the best suicide leads in the tier due to its powerful Explosion denying attempts to remove its hazards via Defog, while Swords Dance boosted Earthquakes and Explosions have the potential to take one or more opposing Pokemon with it. Explosion allows Landorus-T to sack itself off, therefore getting out of the way for a teammate. It also denies Defogging attempts from the likes of Corviknight, Zapdos, and Tapu Fini. You basically repeat yourself in these first few sentences. More detail is better than less, but it still needs to make sense. Swords Dance boosts Landorus-T's attack to titanic levels, allowing Earthquake to do enormous damage to even bulky neutral targets and making Explosion much more powerful, notably allowing it to OHKO Zapdos and Gliscor while doing over 50% to Corviknight. Focus Sash lets Landorus-T live one hit from full, allowing it to get Stealth Rock up reliably in most situations.

Suicide Lead Landorus-T fits well on hyper offense teams that need to get the game started with a bang and keep Stealth Rock up if possible. Landorus-T should almost always be the lead, as it matches up well against the vast majority of hazard removal options. The only times Landorus-T should not be the lead are situations where the opposition has a faster Taunt user, such as Mew, or a Magic Bounce user such as Mega Sableye. Victini is oftentimes a better lead to get use out of the strongest possible Final Gambit; players will often get their own Stealth Rock up if you lead with Landorus-T. Staple sweepers on hyper offense, such as Bulk Up Cinderace, Belly Drum Kommo-o, Magearna, and Rillaboom are good teammates, as they all appreciate Stealth Rock wearing down the opposition. Pretty basic; every Pokemon appreciates Stealth Rock. Specifically noting how Landorus-T can leave a big gap in teams with its strong Explosion is much more notable. Choice Scarf Victini is a notable partner, as it can use Final Gambit to take another foe with it. This can work in conjunction with Landorus-T's Explosion to take at least two opposing Pokemon with them to start the game off under ideal circumstances. Victini makes sense in the context of hyper offense teams as a whole, but it isn't a very notable teammate to Landorus-T. I don't think it needs to be mentioned here.

[SET COMMENTS]
Landorus-T can use Z-Moves to become a very powerful wallbreaker while also setting Stealth Rock. Offensive Stealth Rock Landorus-T matches up well against common entry hazard removers like Tapu Fini and Corviknight, while it also uses its ability to force out common Pokemon like Heatran and Excadrill to either set Stealth Rock or set up a Swords Dance. It easily being one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame is surely worth noting. Fly with Flyinium Z allows Landorus-T to smash through common Defensive Pokemon like Slowbro and Tangrowth with a Z-Move after a boost. Stone Edge with Rockium Z, on the other hand, gives Landorus-T the ability to directly threaten common Defoggers like Zapdos and Corviknight, while also allowing it to break through Rotom-W with greater efficiency. Zapdos is probably not the best example because Landorus-T can pretty easily afford to setup to +4 against it, assuming it switches in, after which it is OHKOed by Supersonic Skystrike anyways. Definitely note why Rockium Z is not as strong of an option as Flyinium Z. It also still has enough power to OHKO Tapu Fini at +2. Keep in mind that the Rockium Z set also faces competition from Garchomp, which sits at a significantly better speed tier that gives it the jump on Mega Medicham, the Mega Charizards, and Hydreigon, but Landorus-T's ability to compress a Ground immunity and get better damage rolls against Corviknight while resisting Body Press gives it a niche in this regard.

Add something about its stall matchup. A well played Swords Dance Landorus-T is easily one of the most threatening Pokemon for stall teams to deal with.

Late game cleaners are excellent partners for Landorus-T, as they greatly appreciate Landorus-T weakening or straight up removing bulkier Pokemon while also setting up hazards. Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and Cinderacee make for good teammates in this regard. The former forms a dangerous hazard setting duo, while appreciating Landorus-T’s ability to defeat Toxapex, Tangrowth, and Tapu Fini. The latter two appreciate Landorus-T’s ability to weaken Corviknight and Zapdos, letting them wreak havoc later on, while the former makes up for this set being a rather poor Cinderace check. The thoughts conveyed here are not very cohesive and you need to make sure that they are. Landorus-T appreciates pivot support that can get it in safely. Blissey, Mega Scizor, and Slowbro are good partners as a result. Landorus-T's teammates can be tuned depending on what Z-Move it is using. Pokemon that appreciate Pokemon such as Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Hippowdon removed make for good partners for the Flyinium Z variant, with Cinderace and Mega Lopunny working in this regard. Teammates that appreciate the removal or denting of Pokemon such as Corviknight, Rotom-W, and Zapdos work well as partners for the Rockium Z set. This can include teammates like Kartana, Mega Scizor, and Mega Lopunny.

Hidden Power Ice can be used on the defensive set to threaten opposing Landorus-T and Garchomp while also breaking Hawlucha's Substitutes, but it's difficult to fit on the set unless your team has another Stealth Rock setter. A set utilizing Substitute and Swords Dance can be used to abuse Body Press Corviknight. Smack Down should be considered as the last move on that set in order to actually reliably break Corviknight. Rock Polish can boost Landorus-T's speed, making into a rather threatening late game cleaner. Rock Polish can be run with Swords Dance to form a double dance set, but setting up both moves is unrealistic against most teams and the moveslot lost often isn't worth the ability to choose which stat to boost. Bad set.

Bulky Z-Move sets with U-turn deserve a mention.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Slowbro is capable of forcing damage onto Landorus-T and potentially burning it with Scald while also eating unboosted hits from Landorus-T rather comfortably. Tapu Fini is a shakier answer, but it is capable of forcing the same damage Slowbro is while also removing Landorus-T's hazards. Engaging Tapu Fini with Landorus-T is essentially throwing your Tapu Fini away and it should in no way be suggested that that's even a somewhat decent play to make. Offensive Water-types, such as Ash-Greninja, Manaphy, and Mega Swampert are all capable of threatening Landorus-T with their STAB moves as well, although Ash-Greninja can't switch into any set and the other two must be careful of Z-Moves or Explosion.

**Ice-types and Ice-type Coverage**: Landorus-T's quadruple Ice weakness means that any Ice-type move will deal heavy damage if not OHKO. Weavile and Kyurem both outspeed non-scarfed Landorus-T and OHKO it with a STAB move. In addition, Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Zapdos can carry Hidden Power Ice, allowing them to threaten Landorus-T with enormous damage. Zapdos generally shouldn't run Hidden Power Ice. Mega Medicham would make more sense to mention as a Pokemon that can run Ice-type coverage for Landorus-T.

**CertainGround-immune Pokemon**: Corviknight only fears Knock Off from the Choice Scarf and Defensive sets and can proceed to remove any hazards Landorus-T sets up rather comfortably. Rotom-W is threatened by a stray Toxic but can force out Landorus-T with its STAB Hydro Pump. Skarmory can use Landorus-T as an excuse to set up Spikes, and Zapdos can viably carry Hidden Power Ice in order to hit Landorus-T very hard. No. However, all of these Pokemon must be cautious of the Rockium Z set, and the rare Smack Down variant completely invalidates all of these as answers. What about Gliscor?

Unfortunately, being locked into Defog is not preferable, as it can give the opponent an opportunity to do whatever they want as Landorus-T removes the hazards. Hidden Power Ice can be used to threaten opposing Landorus-T and Garchomp. Earth Power can be used on teams that are desperately in need of a reliable Kartana revenge killer and need Landorus-T's role compression. Talk about how you need a neutral nature and 76 Special Attack EVs to ensure the OHKO. 232 Speed EVs and a Jolly Nature are used to outrun +1 Excadrill, while the HP and Defense investment allows Landorus-T to avoid the 2HKO from Cinderace's Pyro Ball after Stealth Rock as well as the OHKO from Choice Band Melmetal's Double Iron Bash

Landorus-T's ability to provide teams some buffer against the extremely dangerous Cinderace is much appreciated, however it is not a perfect answer to it on its own due to Pyro Ball doing around 40% even after Intimidate and a general inability to punish U-turn spam from Cinderace. Cinderace and Choice Specs Magearna in particular are capable of taking advantage of Corviknight, which Choice Scarf Landorus-T tends to draw in, while the latter three are also capable of taking advantage of Slowbro, another common physical sponge. I don't think that necessarily makes them threatening. When's the last time you saw a Mega Latias use Defog in National Dex anyway? Rocky Helmet is preferred to punish U-turn from the likes of Cinderace, Mega Lopunny, and Corviknight, as well as general contact moves from threats such as Mega Medicham. Hidden Power Fire is a viable option for teams that need buffer against Kartana. 144 Speed EVs allows Landorus-T to outrun Modest Heatran. Alternate Speed investments, such as 16 Speed EVs for Tyranitar or 88 for Bisharp are viable if you want Landorus-T to have more bulk, but missing out on Modest Heatran and Timid Magearna can be detrimental considering how common both of them are. Magearna really doesn't run a Timid nature very often, and those that do generally aren't immediately threatening to Landorus-T.

Defensive Landorus-T finds its place on more offensive builds that appreciate it checking threats such as Cinderace and Mega Lopunny while also keeping up momentum and setting hazards. Landorus-T is very effective at spreading residual damage onto treats such as Cinderace and Mega Mawile. Frailer offensive Pokemon, such as Tapu Koko, Mega Lopunny, Weavile, and Choice Scarf users such as Jirachi enjoy the extra chip damage onto these threats, as it allows them to get past them much more easily. Jirachi doesn't make much sense to mention here. Landorus-T is particularly effective at wearing down opposing Landorus-T; that's the most important thing to note. Cinderace, Mega Mawile, etc. value that a lot. Landorus-T has no recovery and somewhat mediocre special bulk, both of which can be abused by Special Attackers such as Magearna, Heatran, and Tapu Lele. Something with significant special bulk can help to alleviate these issues, with Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Slowking being decent partners as a result. I don't really like how generalized this is; explicitly note that they can check the mentioned Pokemon to tie the thing together. Strong wallbreakers, such as Mega Mawile, Ash-Greninja, Mega Charizard Y, and Cinderace appreciate Landorus-T wearing down faster, trailer offensive Pokemon and safely pivoting them in. Mega Charizard Y and Cinderace are especially nice, as Landorus-T has a tendency to draw in Corviknight, while Ash-Greninja can take advantage of Gliscor. I'm not sure Mega Charizard Y is a very fitting mention; using Mega Charizard Y on the same team as defensive Landorus-T usually leads to getting fucked by Cinderace. Mega Charizard Y also suffers from the weak entry hazard control. You oftentimes struggle to fit good entry hazard control on teams with defensive Landorus-T.

Bulky sets carrying Fly with Flyinium Z and U-turn can be useful, as this allows Landorus-T to threaten immediate damage onto frailer offensive Pokemon, such as Mega Medicham and Rillaboom. It also takes advantage of the fact that the standard bulky pivot sets tend to lure in Tangrowth. However, the loss of Toxic and Rocky Helmet makes this set worse against Pokemon such as Mega Latias, Cinderace, and Mega Mawile.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Slowbro is capable of forcing damage onto Landorus-T and potentially burning it with Scald while also eating unboosted hits from Landorus-T rather comfortably.

In addition, Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Mega Medicham can carry Ice moves, allowing them to threaten Landorus-T with enormous damage.

**Ground-immune Pokemon**: Corviknight only fears Knock Off from the Choice Scarf and Defensive sets and can proceed to remove any hazards Landorus-T sets up rather comfortably. Gliscor doesn't even fear Knock Off but it must be careful of Swords Dance variants. Rotom-W is threatened by a stray Toxic but can force out Landorus-T with its STAB Hydro Pump. Skarmory can use Landorus-T as an excuse to set up Spikes. However, all of these Pokemon must be cautious of the Rockium Z set, and the rare Smack Down variant completely invalidates all of these as answers.

You should talk about residual damage too. Landorus-T is a Pokemon that gets worn down by a variety of factors super quickly.

Landorus-T is one of the best Choice Scarf users in the metagame. It fits on a wide variety of teams thanks to the unique role compression that it offers them. It's ability to act as a team's Ground-type, speed control, generally good power, and utility moves gives it this distinction and allows it to give teams offensive and defensive weapons against threats such as Cinderace, Heatran, Toxapex, and Tapu Koko. U-turn allows Landorus-T to keep up the momentum and take advantage of the switches it forces onto from common Pokemon such as Cinderace, Toxapex, Magearna, and Heatran. Mention Tangrowth Punishment allows Landorus-T to deal with Calm Mind Mega Latias; Punishment 2HKOs, 2HKOing it after Mega Latias has used Calm Mind once. This works especially well with teammates that force Mega Latias to Calm Mind multiple times, such as Corviknight. Explosion allows Landorus-T to deal more damage to certain threats, such as Kommo-o, Rotom-W, Garchomp, and Gliscor; reorder to Chomp, Glisc, Kommo-o, Washtom however, keep in mind that none of them are outright removed by the move and will require chip before being KOd. Defog can be used if the role compression in having a Choice Scarf user and hazard control in the same slot is needed. A neutral nature and 76 Special Attack EVs should be run in this case in order to secure the OHKO onto Kartana.

A bulky Water-type that is capable of checking Cinderace, such as Slowbro or Toxapex, is therefore a great option to have in the back. Slowbro can also form a pivoting core with Landorus-T with Teleport, while Toxapex is capable of taking on Ash-Greninja for Landorus-T. They also appreciate Lando’s Electric immunity, and in Pex’s case, a Ground immunity Strong wallbreakers such as Cinderace, Choice Specs Magearna, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele appreciate Landorus-T acting as solid speed control for them and pivoting them in with U-turn. Kyurem also mandhandles Zapdos Choice Scarf Landorus-T will get worn down over the course of a game, so having Defog support in the form of Corviknight, Zapdos, or Kartana is very helpful. Mention the Corviknight+Punishment Lando dynamic here imo.

Defensive Landorus-T is one of the best available checks to Cinderace while also giving teams some options against other threats such as Mega Mawile, Mega Medicham, and Mega Lopunny. Some options sounds really vague here; change it to being an interrim measure Landorus-T is also capable of setting Stealth Rock for its team, which allows it to make use of the switches that it forces onto the aforementioned threats. U-turn is useful, as it lets Landorus-T pivot out of bad matchups like against Corviknight and Slowbro. Toxic is used to punish threats such as opposing Landorus-T, Mega Latias, Kyurem, and Slowbro that might look to come in on Landorus-T. Rocky Helmet is preferred to punish U-turn from the likes of Cinderace, Mega Lopunny, and Corviknight, as well as general contact moves from threats such as Mega Medicham and Mega Mawile. Hidden Power Fire is a viable option for teams that need buffer against Kartana. 144 Speed EVs allows Landorus-T to outrun Modest Heatran. Alternate Speed investments, such as 16 Speed EVs for Tyranitar or 88 for Bisharp are viable if you want Landorus-T to have more bulk, but missing out on Modest Heatran can be detrimental considering how common it is.

Defensive Landorus-T finds its place on more offensive builds that appreciate it checking threats such as Cinderace and Mega Lopunny while also keeping up momentum and setting hazards. Landorus-T is very effective at spreading residual damage onto treats such as Cinderace, Landorus-T and Mega Mawile. Frailer Fast offensive Pokemon, such as Tapu Koko, Mega Lopunny, Cinderace, and Weavile enjoy the extra chip damage onto these threats, as it allows them to get past them much more easily. Imo this fits better at the end of the paragraph with the “other breakers” section Landorus-T has no recovery and somewhat mediocre special bulk, both of which can be abused by Special Attackers such as Magearna, Heatran, and Tapu Lele. Something with significant special bulk that can check these threats helps to alleviate these issues, with Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Slowking being decent partners as a result. I think mentioning bulky Water-types (slowking, pex, fini) is also nice for their defensive synergy. Strong wallbreakers, such as Mega Mawile, Ash-Greninja, and Cinderace appreciate Landorus-T wearing down faster, trailer offensive Pokemon and safely pivoting them in. Cinderace is especially nice, as Landorus-T has a tendency to draw in Corviknight, while Ash-Greninja can take advantage of Gliscor.

Landorus-T is one of the best suicide leads in the tier due to its powerful Explosion denying attempts to remove its hazards via Defog, while Swords Dance boosted Earthquakes and Explosions have the potential to take one or more opposing Pokemon with it. Explosion also denies Defogging attempts from the likes of Corviknight, Zapdos, and Tapu Fini. Swords Dance boosts Landorus-T's attack to titanic levels, allowing Earthquake to do enormous damage to even bulky neutral targets and making Explosion much more powerful, notably allowing it to OHKO Zapdos and Gliscor while doing over 50% to Corviknight. It also eviscerates Slowbro Focus Sash lets Landorus-T live one hit from full, allowing it to get Stealth Rock up reliably in most situations.

Suicide Lead Landorus-T fits well on hyper offense teams that need to get the game started with a bang nice pun and keep Stealth Rock up if possible. Landorus-T is a great lead, as it matches up well against the vast majority of hazard removal options. The only notable situations Landorus-T will not be able to get Stealth Rock up is when the opposition has a faster Taunt user, such as Mew, or a Magic Bounce user such as Mega Sableye. Hyper Offense teams utilizing Choice Scarf Victini can also consider making it the lead instead, as Landorus-T tends to trade Stealth Rock with opposing Stealth Rock setters. It can be therefore more valuable at times to deny the opponents Stealth Rock first and send in Landorus-T next. Its worth mentioning the Final Gambit+Explosion double kill with these two Staple sweepers on hyper offense, such as Bulk Up Cinderace, Belly Drum Kommo-o, Magearna, and Rillaboom are good teammates, as they all appreciate Stealth Rock wearing down the opposition and how Landorus-T can open up a big hole with Explosion in the early game.

Offensive Stealth Rock Landorus-T serves as one of the best pure wallbreakers in the metagame while also being one of the tier's more reliable Stealth Rock setters. It matches up well against common entry hazard removers like Tapu Fini and Corviknight, while it also uses its ability to force out common Pokemon like Heatran and Excadrill to either set Stealth Rock or set up a Swords Dance. Swords Dance Landorus-T is also one of the best Pokemon for breaking stall teams, as the immense power combined with a Z-Move makes checking Landorus-T quite hard for them, even with Unaware Pokemon such as Clefable and Quagsire. Fly with Flyinium Z allows Landorus-T to smash through common Defensive Pokemon like Slowbro and Tangrowth with a Z-Move after a boost. Stone Edge with Rockium Z, on the other hand, gives Landorus-T the ability to directly threaten common Defoggers like Corviknight and Zapdos, while also allowing it to break through Rotom-W with greater efficiency. It also still has enough power to OHKO Tapu Fini at +2. Its targets are overall rather limited, however, which makes Flyinium Z the overall superior choice. The Rockium Z set also faces competition from Garchomp, which sits at a significantly better speed tier that gives it the jump on Mega Medicham, the Mega Charizards, and Hydreigon, but Landorus-T retains this niche due to its ability to compress a Ground immunity and get better damage rolls against Corviknight.

Landorus-T is one of the best Choice Scarf users in the metagame. Its ability to act as a team's Ground-type and speed control along side answer to fast threats alongside its generally good power and utility moves makes it very easy to put on many teams. It therefore gives the teams it is on gives teams offensive and defensive weapons against threats such as Heatran, Toxapex, and Tapu Koko. U-turn allows Landorus-T to keep up the momentum and take advantage of the switches it forces from common Pokemon such as CTapu Koko, Toxapex, Magearna, and Heatran. Stone Edge 2HKOes Zapdos, OHKOes Moltres, and allows Landorus-T to revenge kill Mega Charizard Y. Knock Off, on the other hand, allows Landorus-T to removes important items from the likes of Slowbro, Zapdos, Moltres, Tapu Fini, and Tangrowth. Punishment allows Landorus-T to deal with Calm Mind Mega Latias, 2HKOing it after Mega Latias has used Calm Mind once. This also deals with a Calm Mind, as well as Calm Mind Reuniclus. This It works especially well with teammates that force Mega Latias to use Calm Mind multiple times, such as Corviknight. Explosion allows Landorus-T to deal more damage to certain threats, such as Garchomp, Gliscor, Kommo-o, and Rotom-W; however, keep in mind that none of them are outright removed by the move and will all of them require chip damage before being KOed. Defog can be used if the role compression of having speed control revenge killing and hazard removal in the same teamslot is needed. Unfortunately, being locked into Defog is not preferable, as it can give the opponent an opportunity to do whatever they want as Landorus-T removes the hazards gives foes an opportunity to do whatever they want. Hidden Power Ice can be used to threaten opposing Landorus-T and Garchomp. Earth Power can be used on teams that are desperately in need of a reliable Kartana revenge killer and need Landorus-T's role compression. A neutral nature and 76 Special Attack EVs should be run in this case in order to secure the OHKO onto Kartana. 232 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature are used to outrun +1 Excadrill.

Bulky Water-types, such as Slowbro or and Toxapex, work well with Landorus-T. Slowbro can also form a pivoting core with Landorus-T with Teleport, while Toxapex is capable of taking on Ash-Greninja for Landorus-T. These Water-types also appreciate Landorus-T's Electric immunity, while and Toxapex also appreciates the Ground immunity. Strong wallbreakers such as Cinderace, Choice Specs Magearna, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele appreciate Landorus-T acting as solid speed control solidly handling fast threats for them and pivoting them in with U-turn. Choice Specs Magearna in particular are capable of taking can take advantage of Corviknight, which Choice Scarf Landorus-T tends to draw in, while the above other three are also capable of taking advantage of Slowbro, another common physical sponge, while and Kyurem can additionally deal with Zapdos. (please make sure all parts of this sentence say what you actually mean) Choice Scarf Landorus-T will get worn down over the course of a game, so having Defog support in the form of Corviknight, Zapdos, or Kartana is very helpful. Corviknight can also force Latias-Mega Mega Latias to use Calm Mind multiple times, which can work well with Punishment Landorus-T.

Defensive Landorus-T gives teams an interim measure against other threats such as Mega Mawile, Mega Medicham, and Mega Lopunny while also being a good utility Pokemon in general. Landorus-T is also capable of setting Stealth Rock for its team, which allows it to make use of the switches that it forces onto against the aforementioned threats. Rocky Helmet is preferred to punish U-turn from the likes of Mega Mawile, Mega Lopunny, and Corviknight, as well as general contact moves from threats such as Mega Medicham and Mega Mawile. 144 Speed EVs allows Landorus-T to outrun Modest Heatran. Alternate Speed investments, such as 16 Speed EVs for Tyranitar or 88 for Bisharp, (AC) are viable if you want Landorus-T to have more bulk, but missing out on Modest Heatran can be detrimental considering how common it is.

Defensive Landorus-T finds its place on more offensive builds that appreciate it checking threats such as Mega Medicham and Mega Lopunny while also keeping up momentum and setting hazards Stealth Rock. Landorus-T is very effective at spreading residual damage onto threats such as Landorus-T and Mega Mawile. Landorus-T has no recovery and somewhat mediocre special bulk, both of which can be abused by Special Attackers make it vulnerable to special attackers such as Magearna, Heatran, and Tapu Lele. Something with significant special bulk that can check these threats helps to alleviate these issues, with The good special bulk of Ferrothorn, Mega Scizor, and Slowking being makes them decent partners as a result. Other Water-types, such as Tapu Fini and Slowbro, also enjoy Landorus-T's defensive presence. Fast offensive Pokemon (RC) such as Tapu Koko, Mega Lopunny, and Weavile enjoy the extra chip damage onto these threats such as Landorus-T and Mega Mawile, as it allows them to get past them much more easily. Strong wallbreakers (RC) such as Mega Mawile, Ash-Greninja, and Magearna appreciate Landorus-T wearing down faster, trailer frailer offensive Pokemon and safely pivoting them in. Magearna is especially nice, as Landorus-T has a tendency to draw in Corviknight, while Ash-Greninja can take advantage of Gliscor.

Landorus-T is one of the best suicide leads in the tier due to its powerful Explosion denying attempts from the likes of Corviknight, Zapdos, and Tapu Fini to remove its hazards via Defog, while Swords Dance boosted Earthquakes and Explosions have the potential to and Swords Dance boosting Earthquake and Explosion can let it take one or more opposing Pokemon with it. Explosion also denies Defogging attempts from the likes of Corviknight, Zapdos, and Tapu Fini.

The only notable situations Landorus-T will not be able to get Stealth Rock up is when the opposition has way to stop Landorus-T from getting Stealth Rock up is via a faster Taunt user, such as Mew, or a Magic Bounce user such as Mega Sableye. Hyper offense teams utilizing Choice Scarf Victini can also consider making it make Victini the lead instead, as Landorus-T tends to trade Stealth Rock with opposing Stealth Rock setters, (period -> comma) and it can be therefore more valuable at times to deny the opponent's (added apostrophe) Stealth Rock first and send in Landorus-T next. This combo pair can also take two opponents foes with it quite easily. Offensive Stealth Rock Landorus-T serves as one of the best pure wallbreakers in the metagame while also being one of the tier's more reliable Stealth Rock setters. It matches up well against common entry hazard removers like Tapu Fini and Corviknight, while and it also uses its ability to force out common Pokemon like Heatran and Excadrill to either set Stealth Rock or set up a Swords Dance. Stone Edge with Rockium Z, on the other hand, gives Landorus-T the ability to lets Landorus-T directly threaten common Defoggers like Corviknight and Zapdos (RC) while also allowing it to break through Rotom-W with greater efficiency. It also still has enough power to OHKO Tapu Fini at +2. Its targets are overall rather limited, however, which makes Flyinium Z the overall superior choice. The Rockium Z set also faces competition from Garchomp, which sits at a significantly better Speed tier that gives it the jump on Mega Medicham, the Mega Charizards, Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Hydreigon, but Landorus-T retains this a niche due to its ability to compressing a Ground immunity and getting better damage rolls against Corviknight.

Late-game (added hyphen) cleaners are excellent partners for Landorus-T, as they greatly appreciate Landorus-T weakening or straight up removing bulkier Pokemon while also setting up hazards Stealth Rock. Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Mega Lopunny, and Tapu Koko make for good teammates in this regard. Ash-Greninja also forms a dangerous hazard-setting (added hyphen) duo (RC) while appreciating Landorus-T’s ability to defeat Toxapex, Blissey, Tangrowth, and Tapu Fini. U-turn variants of Ash-Greninja can also be employed to get Landorus-T in safely and let it abuse exploit Pokemon such as Toxapex and Blissey. Mega Lopunny and Magearna appreciate Landorus-T’s ability to weaken Corviknight and Zapdos, letting them wreak havoc later on. Landorus-T appreciates pivot support that can get it in safely. Magnezone also stands out as an exemplary partner, as it can take out Corviknight and Skarmory for Landorus-T, allowing it to use its Z-Move on other targets. Hidden Power Ice can be used on the defensive set to threaten opposing Landorus-T and Garchomp while also breaking Hawlucha's Substitutes, but it's difficult to fit on the set unless your team has another Stealth Rock setter. Bulky sets carrying Fly with Flyinium Z and U-turn can be useful, as this they allows Landorus-T to threaten immediate damage onto offensive Pokemon, such as Mega Medicham and Rillaboom. It also takes advantage of the fact that the standard bulky pivot sets tending to lure in Tangrowth. However, the loss of Toxic and Rocky Helmet makes this set worse against Pokemon such as Mega Latias and Mega Mawile.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Slowbro is capable of forcing damage onto Landorus-T and potentially burning it with Scald while also eating unboosted hits from Landorus-T rather comfortably, (AC) although it fears Toxic and a boosted Supersonic Skystrike. Offensive Water-types (RC) such as Ash-Greninja, Manaphy, and Mega Swampert are all capable of threatening Landorus-T with their STAB moves as well, although Ash-Greninja can't switch into any set and the other two must be careful of Z-Moves or Explosion.

**Ice-types and Ice-type Coverage**: Landorus-T's quadruple Ice weakness means that any Ice-type move will deal heavy damage, (AC) if not OHKO. Weavile and Kyurem both outspeed non-scarfed non-Choice Scarf Landorus-T and OHKO it with a STAB move. In addition, Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Mega Medicham can carry Ice-type moves, allowing them to threaten Landorus-T with enormous damage.

**Ground-immune Pokemon**: Corviknight only fears Knock Off from the Choice Scarf and Defensive sets and can proceed to remove any hazards Landorus-T sets up Landorus-T's Stealth Rock rather comfortably. Gliscor doesn't even fear Knock Off, (AC) but it must be careful of Swords Dance variants. Rotom-W is threatened by a stray Toxic but can force out Landorus-T with its STAB Hydro Pump. Skarmory can use Landorus-T as an excuse to freely set up Spikes.
