Latios @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Tera Type: Dragon / Steel
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Luster Purge
- Shadow Ball
- Flip Turn
The Eon Pokemon is one of SV UU's most devastating wallbreakers thanks to its naturally strong Special Attack, high-Base power STAB moves and expansive movepool. Draco Meteor, combined with Choice Specs, annihilates most Pokemon in the metagame. Luster Purge is a useful secondary STAB move and, combined with its Special Defense drop chance, allows Latios to muscle through Pokemon it normally could not like Azumarill and Garganacl. Shadow Ball hits Metagross and Jirachi for super effective damage and is a good midground option into Steel-types like Scizor. Flip Turn allows Latios to pivot around more difficult matchups like Azumarill, Greninja, and Tyranitar. Tera Dragon is generally preferred to boost the power of Draco Meteor as well as removing Latios's weakness to Knock Off and U-turn; Tera Steel can be opted for instead, trading off the power boost for a solid defensive typing, allowing it to check Scale Shot Garchomp and opposing Latios. Latios can struggle to break through bulky Steel- and Dark-types like Metagross and Tyranitar, so Pokemon that can beat these threats like Azumarill and Terrakion are nice to have. Pivots like Tornadus-T form a potent VoltTurn core with Latios; Tornadus-T also wears down Steel-types and Tyranitar for Latios to wallbreak more easily.
