Finally posting here! This is a battle I had with Vileman just now. I wanted to showcase the use of Diglett and Gothita to trap and kill certain enemies. It works very well. ♥
Diglett has 20 Speed, Stealth Rock, and Arena Trap. Gothita has Shadow Tag with Scarf + Trick.
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/pokebanklcbeta-69776838 A battle I fought a little earlier. I was largely in control of the flow of battle about halfway through, although it turned out an extremely match. I certainly could've played a little better around Ponyta.
Me trying out a new team vs Wobbyle. I had a massive advantage at the beginning by winning the speed tie against Misdreavus, but in the end he still won with a niftily placed Bug Buzz crit against Gligar. All in all, it was a pretty great match, and does show the power of a well played Yanma, which I had to scramble to counter. GG Wobbyble !
I've been trying out a team that uses Bulk Up Mienfoo to Baton Pass physical boosts and Substitutes to whatever teammate is best suited for the situation. In this particular match, I passed +2 Attack and +2 Defense to my offensive pivot Scarf Bunnelby (who already has 26 Attack and 24 Speed), and it was pretty much good game from there.
Other mons I pass to include Archen (fares well against top threats Yanma and Gligar), Murkrow (obliterates everything after being passed Bulk Up boosts but must be careful about coming into attacks), and Shellder (the Defense boosts help it take priority hits better after Shell Smashing), though Shellder can function damn well without Mienfoo's help, as can Bunnelby. I purposely run low Speed on Mienfoo so that I can bring in a Baton Pass recipient without them being hit, and this especially helps Bunnelby and Murkrow, which are both great offensively but don't like taking hits. Mienfoo's Regenerator ability also lets it pass stat boosts to multiple teammates throughout battles, so all is not lost for this strategy if the first recipient is taken down. ♥
very fun battle i had vs dsr who was attempting to use stall. shows how strong lo murkrow and especially knock off can be (i managed to knock off items from 5 of his pokemon).
