Level: 5
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Grassy Glide
- Knock Off
- U-turn

With its ability to manifest Grassy Terrain as it pleases, Grookey strikes fear into a competitive Pokemon player's heart. Grookey has a niche in Little Cup thanks to its priority Grass-type STAB and passive recovery from terrain. Grassy Glide is a strong form of priority, allowing it to consistently pick off low HP foes that would otherwise outspeed or tie it, such as Mienfoo, Alolan Diglett, and Chinchou. Wood Hammer is used when Grassy Glide's damage is not enough, notably for 2HKOing Mudbray after a Stamina boost. Knock Off provides progress against Grass-resistant Pokemon and removes Eviolite from threats like Vullaby and Foongus. U-turn maintains momentum against unfavorable switch-ins like Vullaby. Tera Grass further boosts Grassy Glide and Wood Hammer's damage under terrain. Grookey is often found on Grassy Terrain hyper offense and bulky offense teams. Checks include Vullaby, Foongus, and Tinkatink. Teammates such as Glimmet, Chinchou, and Elekid help deal with Vullaby. Growlithe-Hisui is also a good partner for handling Tinkatink and Foongus. More offensive options such as Shroodle and Drifloon can be used due to their synergy with Unburden and Grassy Seed.

For teammates, Glimmet, Chinchou, and Elekid are good options for dealing with Vullaby. Growlithe-Hisui is also a good partner for dealing with Tinkatink and Foongus.
