Staryu @ Eviolite
Ability: Analytic
Level: 5
EVs: 76 Def / 196 SpA / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Rapid Spin

Staryu's combination of high Speed and vast coverage moves allows it to handle common foes like Ponyta and Onix and be a menace to many defensive cores. Thunderbolt threatens opposing Water-types like Mareanie and Dewpider, while common Poison-types like Foongus are pressured by Psychic. Rapid Spin imparts valuable utility, letting Staryu remove entry hazards and giving it a Speed boost to avoid getting trapped by Diglett. Despite Staryu's good coverage, it still struggles against Grass-types like Ferroseed and Grookey; notably, Ferroseed resists all of its moves. Pairing Staryu with checks to them such as Ponyta and Vullaby can be valuable; in return, they benefit from Staryu threatening Stealth Rock setters like Onix and removing entry hazards.

Staryu's combination of high Speed and vast coverage moves make it a great offensive Pokemon in LC, handling common foes like Ponyta and Onix with Hydro Pump.
I just don't like this sentence. I dunno
Thunderbolt allows Staryu to threaten opposing Water-types like Wingull and Dewpider, while omnipresent Water-resistant walls like Mareanie and Foongus are pressured by Psychic.
I would include mini pex in the first point over wingull and talk about psychic being for poison-types instead of water resists.
Rapid Spin imparts valuable utility for Staryu, letting it remove entry hazards against the likes of Onix and Mudbray and giving it a Speed boost to avoid getting trapped by Diglett.
unnecessary and somewhat restated later in an okay manner.

Staryu's combination of high Speed and vast coverage moves allow allows it to handle common foes like Ponyta and Onix and be a menace to take on (subjective change; a tad less wordy, but it's not a required fix) many defensive cores. Thunderbolt allows Staryu to threaten threatens (repetition) opposing Water-types like Mareanie and Dewpider, while common Poison-types like Foongus are pressured by Psychic. Rapid Spin imparts valuable utility, letting it Staryu remove entry hazards and giving it a Speed boost to avoid getting trapped by Diglett. (Does the Speed boost let Staryu outspeed, and thus OHKO, Diglett? I think that's what you meant, but it could be a tad clearer.) Despite Staryu's good coverage, it still struggles against Grass-types like Ferroseed and Grookey, especially Grookey; notably, Ferroseed that resists all of its moves. Pairing Staryu with checks to them such as Ponyta and Vullaby are can be valuable; in return, they benefit from Staryu threatening Stealth Rock setters like Onix and removing entry hazards.
