AG Lead Deoxys-S [DONE]

[SET]
Lead (Deoxys-Speed) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Steel / Fairy / Dark
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe or 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe

IVs: 0 Atk

- Taunt
- Psycho Boost / Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock / Skill Swap / Thunder Wave

[SET COMMENTS]
Backed by its high Speed stat, which allows it to outspeed every relevant Pokemon without a Choice Scarf, and access to a wide variety of status moves, Deoxys-S remains a consistent suicide lead. Spikes is a must-have for Deoxys-S, as it damages Koraidon, Ting-Lu, and Arceus formes more than Stealth Rock, but Stealth Rock can still be used with Spikes if wanting to chip Spikes-immune Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Gliscor. Deoxys-S's access to Taunt lets it stop those trying to set up against it, such as Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy, while also shutting down other entry hazard setters like Glimmora and Ribombee. Psycho Boost gives Deoxys-S a way to OHKO Koraidon, 2HKO Glimmora after Focus Sash, and chip physically defensive Gliscor, and Thunder Wave can be used to cripple fast threats that stay in on Deoxys-S like Calyrex-S, Koraidon, and Zacian-C. Skill Swap can be used to remove Magic Bounce from Hatterene. However, Deoxys-S struggles to compete against other suicide leads like Ribombee and Glimmora, which offer more valuable hazards in Sticky Web and Toxic Spikes, respectively. Tera Steel gives Deoxys-S an immunity to Mortal Spin from Glimmora, while Tera Fairy allows it to block Scale Shot from Koraidon, and Tera Dark allows it to block Taunt and Parting Shot from Grimmsnarl. Maximum Special Attack EVs should be used to OHKO Koraidon with Psycho Boost, but maximum HP EVs can also be used.

Deoxys-S is used exclusively on hyper offense teams that benefit from its entry hazards and overall disruption. Common hyper offense threats like Koraidon, Zacian-C, and Calyrex-S appreciate having the hazard support from Deoxys-S to chip Arceus formes and other Pokemon without Heavy-Duty Boots, such as Ting-Lu and Koraidon. For example, it allows Tera Normal Arceus to OHKO Koraidon with Extreme Speed after a Swords Dance and Life Orb Calyrex-S to OHKO Arceus with Psychic or Grass Knot after a Nasty Plot, in case of a hyper offense mirror. These teammates also appreciate Deoxys-S preventing opposing hazards from going up because they are vulnerable to chip damage. Hatterene is able to shut down Deoxys-S without Skill Swap, so Pokemon such as Zacian-C, Calyrex-S, and Arceus-Ground are also helpful for threatening Hatterene.

Counter allows Deoxys-S to get a surprise OHKO on Arceus after Extreme Speed or on Pokemon switching in from a U-turn from Koraidon. Tera Ghost can be used as a way to block Extreme Speed from Arceus if the situation arises or a niche Rapid Spin from the likes of Terapagos and Iron Treads. Knock Off can be used to OHKO Calyrex-S with 68 Attack EVs while removing Heavy-Duty Boots from the likes of Arceus and Miraidon, Toxic Orb from Gliscor, and Leftovers from Ting-Lu.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Hatterene**: Hatterene's Magic Bounce ability prevents Deoxys-S from setting up entry hazards while also resisting Psycho Boost. It can also hold an Ability Shield to block Skill Swap.

**Grimmsnarl**: Grimmsnarl can use Taunt before Deoxys-S due to Prankster and is immune to Psycho Boost. It does need to be wary of Knock Off removing Light Clay, however, as it puts Reflect and Light Screen on a tighter timer.

**Rapid Spin Users**: Rapid Spin users like Iron Treads and Terapagos are able to comfortably tank Deoxys-S's attacks and clear hazards while setting up their own Stealth Rock.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots prevents the holder from taking damage from hazards, effectively rendering Deoxys-S useless into full Heavy-Duty Boots stall teams.

Back by its high speed stat, which allows it to outspeed every relevant Pokemon without a Choice Scarf, and access to a wide variety of status moves, Deoxys-S remains a consistent suicide lead. It can set up both Spikes and Stealth Rock, depending on the team's preferences. (what preference ? spikes are a must, but you should explain sr is a good choice for chipping spikes immune mons like landot, glisc otherwise spikes are better bc rock weaks already run boots + spikes hurt korai, tinglu etc. more) Its access to Taunt prevents those trying to set up against Deoxys-S (give examples like cm fairyceus, also taunt shuts down other hazard setters) and Thunder Wave can be used to cripple fast threats that stay in on Deoxys-S. (like what? calys, korai, etc.) Psycho Boost gives Deoxys-S a way of dealing damage (deal damage to who? ohkoes korai, glimm and chips phydef glisc) and Skill Swap can be used to remove Magic Bounce from Hatterene. However, Deoxys-S struggles to compete against other suicide leads like Ribombee and Glimmora, which offer more valuable hazards in Sticky Web and Toxic Spikes, respectively. Tera Steel gives Deoxys-S an immunity to Mortal Spin from Glimmora, while Tera Fairy allows Deoxys-S to block Scale Shot from Koraidon, and Tera Dark allows Deoxys-S to block Taunt and Parting Shot from Grimmsnarl. Maximum Special Attack EVs or HP EVs can both be used, but the latter fails to OHKO Koraidon with Psycho Boost. (word this better, like "Maximum Special Attack EVs should be used if running Psycho Boost to OHKO Koraidon")

Deoxys-S is used exclusively on hyper offense teams that benefit from its hazards and overall disruption. Common hyper offensive threats like Koraidon, Zacian-Crowned, and Calyrex-Shadow appreciate having the hazard support from Deoxys-S to break Focus Sash and chip Arceus formes and other Pokemon without Heavy-Duty Boots. (focus sash isnt really relevant outside of sash caly which is on HO only. also give some more examples of what you chip, like tinglu, koraidon, kingambit, etc with spikes) For example, it allows Zacian-Crowned to 2HKO defensive Arceus-Water with Wild Charge at +1, and allows Life Orb Calyrex-S to 2HKO Ting-Lu. (both these examples arent very useful because 1) SD'ing on waterceus switchin is more likely than clicking wild charge on waterceus coming, and for that matter you need 3 spikes to guarantee OHKO on waterceus at +3, 2) similarly you'd run into +2 np caly vs tinglu in which case lo gknot KOes anyway so spikes dont make a difference. w/o spikes gknot is already 70%~ chance to 2HKO after lefties so not that useful) Zacian-Crowned and Calyrex-S are also helpful for beating Hatterene. (say something along the lines of "If not running Skill Swap, Hatterene shuts down Deoxys-S completely with Magic Bounce. Hence, Zacian-C and Calyrex-S are helpful teammates for threatening Hatterene.")

(some relevant calcs:

relevant in HO mirror because arc run mental herb not hdb)

Counter allows Deoxys-S to get a surprise OHKO onto Pokemon that attack Deoxys-S physically, such as Pokemon switching in from a U-turn from Koraidon. (fluff/dex info, don't need to explain what counter does. just mention the stuff you can use counter against, uturn from korai, espeed from arc, knock off/eq from glisc. not all of these but whatever you feel is worth mentioning like these ones) Tera Ghost can be used as a way to block Extreme Speed from Arceus if the situation arises, or a niche Rapid Spin from the likes of Terapagos and Iron Treads. Knock Off can be used to disrupt the opposing Pokemon more. (what ? not mentioning it OHKOes calys is missing the most important point. that also needs 68 atk evs so mention needing that and a suitable EV spread if possible. how does it disrupt too, talk about removing lefties/hdb with relevant examples)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Hatterene**: Its Magic Bounce ability prevents Deoxys-S from setting up hazards, while also resisting Psycho Boost. It can also hold an Ability Shield to block Skill Swap.

**Grimmsnarl**: Grimmsnarl can use Taunt before Deoxys-S due to Prankster, and is immune to Psycho Boost. It does need to be wary of Knock Off, however. (wary of knock off removing light clay and putting screens on a timer, mention that)

**Glimmora**: Glimmora can lower Deoxys-S speed so that it is revenge killed by one of Glimmora's teammates, while clearing hazards set by Deoxys-S with Mortal Spin. (erm what? if you're running psycho boost [which they have no way of knowing if you're not] it's a good trade for you because they dont get tspikes or spikes up which is bigger for the deos team, so glimm grimm teams are most of the time leading grimm not glim vs deo. i would rather mention smth like iron treads or terap here if at all)

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Heavy-Duty Boots prevents the holder from taking damage from hazards, effectively rendering Deoxys-S unless. (how many teams can you find that are completely unaffected by spikes? not a good example, if you're saying hdb then you def need to mention mono boots stall teams since theyre the ones deos is usually useless against)

As a general comment on this paragraph, the order of moves mentioned in the paragraph needs to match up to the order on the set, so you'd talk about Psycho Boost first, then Thunder Wave, then Stealth Rock etc, so please amend the paragraph to match here. I would also recommend you make the unslashed moves into move 1 and 2 because if they're the mandatory ones, they're more important and should be at the top of the paragraph and the set.

(This sentence needs to be reworked because it contrasts Spikes with Rocks, implying you drop one for the other, but the slashing on the set doesn't match up with this. The set suggests Spikes are mandatory and Stealth Rock can sometimes be run alongside Spikes and not instead of Spikes) Its Deoxys-S's access to Taunt prevents lets it stop those trying to set up against Deoxys-S it, such as Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy, while also shutting down other entry hazard setters like Glimmora and Ribombee, (RC).
