SPOILERS! Legends ZA Data Dumps - Adding Info to OP

Out of curiosity, I just went through the list of mega pokemon and out of all of them, there are only 24/74 (less than a third of the megas) that didn't increase both offenses, and that's specifically being generous and including dragonite and zygarde, who lower their main attacking stat to boost the one they originally didn't use.

And then only a third of those (alakazam, gengar, mewtwo x, heracross, houndoom, mawile, aggron, and manectric) were in the first batch of 30 megas introduced in X and Y (26.66%). So it is actually a tradition to waste stats, yeah.

And even jokes aside it does make some sense. As a design conceit they want a consistent +100* so they (usually) have an idea of what they want to REALLY boost, more so than a normal evolution might do, they don't (usually) want to minmax. So they either try to even out the other stats (will Mega Alakazam REALLY survive a lot extra thanks to that +20 def? unlikely) or dump extra into a "potentially useful" useless stat

*Aside from Mega Zygarde since....I guess they dont want anything to break the 800 barrier?

ORAS has the most optimized stat spread of the megas. An easy example would be Gardevoir getting +20 in Atk in comparison to Gallade who has no Spa increase. I do admit ZA has some very odd/dissapointing stat distributions like Malamar/Victreebel.

I have a Victreebel on my Team and switched it using its Mega Stone and Mega to Big Roots with my Giga Drain/Leech Life/Sludge Wave, Razor Leaf set and its an unkillable tank.
Should I move back to use the Mega?
