Not sure people are aware but you can now complete your base Lumiose Pokedex since Johtonian Slowking, Scizor, Aromatise and Slurpuff are available in Hyperspace Lumiose:-D What's more even Hisuian Sliggo/Goodra and Avalugg are available there;-D
Outside the missing megas (Kalos starters, Bax, Hoenn Starters, Garchomp Z) are there any other Pokemon not available in LZA for single player? I think Porygon-Z but I might be wrong...

I think it's just Milotic & Porygon-Z

This might change a bit further once I actually play the DLC because sometimes the animation sells the design (lol Starmie). Also ordered left to right because it's 5 in the morning and I cannot sleep.

And I still can't get over how ass Pyroar is, holy shit man.

Ok so with above we obviously haven't datamined anything afaik yet, but personally I made note of similar experiences...

I shiny hunted cobalion with a lvl 3 sparkling fighting donut, when i spawned in there was a green machamp staring me down right out of the portal. It took about 8 hours for the cobalion to actually shine... but i noted something really odd and it was the 5 riolu/lucarios being where i was running to (i ran from cobalion to the riolus to reset it, both of them were being despawned and resetted so both were being shiny rolled)... i noticed it was pretty fucking odd how with this lvl 3 I was not phasing like any riolus or lucarios... i seen a couple (5 over the 8 hours) but like borderline nothing for what I'd expect considering there was 5 spawning there and i wasn't getting any notably increased shiny encounters than when i did the run reset method pre-DLC.

Then I tried fishing for a donut for latias... gave up when i got alpha 2 sparkle 3 ice and decided to go for amaura instead... as soon as i loaded in the 'catch a shiny' mission popped up and it was infact the amaura. Now this was a rock hole with amaura, onyx, and nacli, but i was using ice so it does work if the type exist and it was guaranteed amaura every single time... but the interesting part is the shininess was guaranteed but not the alpha or gender so I was able to essentially back-up save reset a guaranteed shiny until it was both alpha and female, felt a little scummy but ig thats how shiny hunting with level 3 is intended now?

I think he's onto something that lvl 3 donut is just guarantee a shiny and that's that. So for instance if you wanted shiny alpha female wimpod you'd follow these steps;

- heal at a pokemon center (creates a back up),
- roll sweet donuts until you drop a level 3 bug, preferably with alpha too,
- keep bench resetting until you get a water hole that happens to show up that wimpod exist there
- make hard save (why not)
- heal at pokemon center nearest to that hole (another back up save)
- enter the hole and its a guaranteed wimpod, but then once you find it and check if its how you wanted it;
- press home, close game, open it again
- title screen DpadUP+X+B, open backup save back at the previous center
- repeat and check repeatedly until that shiny is alpha or whatever. Location that group spawns at in the warmhole was weirdly inconsistent? like for amaura my spawned on the street but sometimes like 1/10 would relocation behind me somewhere but then go back, not sure what was up with that.

Visual design + gameplay functionality (due to Z-A Megas not having abilities this is purely going off of stats alone)

I don't currently have Z-A, and I don't exactly plan to pick up the game any time soon, so take these thoughts with a grain of salt.

Gonna try and explain some of the lower-tier placements, most of the others I can rationalize as "it just works" or I mostly put them there for lack of a better reason.

The Cremation Station: these megas I actively despise with a burning passion.
Mega Banette's design is actually kinda cool, which makes it such a shame that they wasted that cool design on what is a functional liability in terms of gameplay. It's a noob trap - it doesn't and will never help you win, it will only make you lose slower.

Mega Latias and Mega Latios absolutely did not deserve Mega Evolutions. (of ORAS? just fuckin use the base Latis, would it have been that tough?) The fact that they look so same-y sure doesn't help matters, either.

Overdosed on Their Own Gimmick: gimmick megas who lean too hard into their gimmick and suffer for it in the end
Mega Starmie... has grown on me, mostly because of all the memes, and stuff. But seriously, I really feel like they half-assed this one so hard it's not funny; the route they went with for Mega Starmie is not bad, but if they were going to go that route, they could and should have done so much more.

Mega Feraligatr's mock-Totodile gimmick is cute... on paper. In practice, it just looks ugly as shit, and I don't like it because it feels like they leaned too hard into that gimmick and made the rest of the Mega suffer for it. The concept is not totally irredeemable, but holy mother of FUCK, would it have hurt Game Freak to go with a more "normal" design for this guy?

Immense Pain and Suffering: I just don't like these megas. Plain and simple.
Most of these I will rationalize as bad stats + bad design (or both), so for this and the next lower tier, I'll just include highlights only.

Mega Camerupt's design is... it just works, but my god, it suffers from base Camerupt's stat spread being so functionally dogshit, which causes Mega Camerupt to suffer. What a shame that this has to be how Fire/Ground gets represented (Primal Groudon exists too, but does that really count?)

Mega Excadrill's design is way too impractical for me to enjoy. How the FUCK is this even supposed to function with those big-ass drill bits on it? Trying to wrap my head around all of this makes me lose my mind, sometimes.

Mega Garchomp Z is so much worse than the OG Mega Garchomp, mostly insofar as its design feels tacky. All the spikes, all of that, feel tacked-on and, as a result, makes this one uninteresting.

Mega Heatran's design is just... kinda unsettling. Upping the heat is one thing, but increasing the heat to the point of its literal body and hind legs melting? That just... kinda unsettles me. I don't know why, all I know is that it just does.

Middling, Through and Through: thoroughly underwhelming Megas, whether it be because of the stat spreads not being good enough

Mega Barbaracle: the overall design is cool, but holy SHIT the animations just ruin this so hard.

Mega Darkrai: I liked base Darkrai's vibe, I can see what its Mega was trying to go for, and I like the idea of Darkrai playing the villain role once more. All of that is just kinda botched by the execution - Mega Darkrai's design feels super static-y and not very dynamic. Would it seriously have hurt them to find a way to make a Mega Darkrai that stayed upright? Hell, even if you wanted to keep Mega Darkrai on its chest, would it have hurt to give it some arms to make it look not so ridiculous? This design just doesn't sit right with me, and reeks of wasted potential (just like a certain show I've myself drawn to recently, pfp unrelated), especially considering how much I like Darkrai to start with.

Everything Else:
Mega Absol Z: oh, yay. We get a Dark/Ghost with actual stats! Wondrous. The design is... very much not it. It's so close to being good, but would it have hurt to have a little bit of white in this design?

Mega Glimmora: cool design, to be certain. But seriously, what the fuck was Game Freak smoking when they gave this +35 points in its attack?

Mega Altaria: Game Freak, please please please make another Pokemon that uses the Dragon/Fairy type combo, I fucking beg you please stop gatekeeping this one please
 
So, what was the supposed new move that had a space reserved in the original datamine?
Pretty sure it was Nihil Light? iirc the raw translation didn't directly correlate to Light of Ruin's Japanese name, it was just super similar.
Oh, of course, but I could have sworn there was a new move expected in the DLC? May have mixed that up with Nihil Light's entry tho.

Nothing seems to have changed in the latest update here.
 
One theory I’ve read, though I don’t know if it has any evidence, is that those spaces might have been early Plus Moves before they decided on a different way to program them?
 
The more I think the more I believe we should've had alt versions of LZA characters. Maybe genderswap with new Mega Aces.

Since they made a precedence they should've had updated all characters to Mega Evolve as many Mons as possible and some Team updates. And Korrina not having Mega Blaziken but 2 Fighting/Psychic Mons is a missed opporunity.
Terragon could've get Mega Golurk
Vinnie maybe Staraptor and Mega evolve his whole Team
Gwenn Absol Z
Phillipe Golispod/Chimecho
Lebanne Garchomp Z/Tatsugiri/Baxcalibur
Griselle Scovillain
Mani Raichu X/Y
Josee Medicham + maybe Crabominable
Z, U, Z, W Trainers whoever is not used
Zach wouldn't get a Mega. The whole joke with him is that his team sucks - even post DLC his team is unevolved level 11.
