XY OU Levi "Beyblade" Ackerman (Mega Gallade Team, peaked 1574)

Hello all, The Grim Garchomp here, and I'm back after a month to do ANOTHER RMT consisting of my new Mega Gallade team!! When I first saw the ORAS megas, i was kind of interested, but not interested enough to make a team out of it. But one day, I was laddering with my earlier RMT team when Mega Gallade came by and ate me for lunch. Seeing it's prowess, a newfound interest came about and I made the team we have now. Without further ado, Levi "Beyblade" Ackerman and his team!! (Yes, I'm an Attack on Titan fan, you got a problem?)

Jester (Gengar) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Taunt
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Wave

To start off with this RMT, we have my taunter, spinblocker, revenge killer and special sweeper Jester the Gengar!! To guarantee the OHKOs from Levi, I needed to keep my hazards on the field for the residual damage. Yes, I know you might say how Defog is more common and it isnt blocked by Jester, let me tell you Jester blocks Defog as well through Taunt, while screwing over the common Chansey switch that counters Gengar. I gave Gengar a Life Orb and SpAtk and Speed EVs to be as fast as possible, to outspeed any possible defoggers to Taunt and deal tons of damage revenge killing. The moveset is pretty simple, with Taunt already explained, Shadow Ball for STAB and dealing with Defog HP Fire Latios (Latios with HP Fire has only 349 speed, while Jester has 350), Focus Blast to destroy all normal/dark/steel types thinking they can take the Shadow Ball, and Sludge Wave for fairy killing and another Super STAB smashing. As the Jester of the king (in this case, the king is Levi), this bad boy paves the path for Levi to wreck havoc on his enemies.

Juggernaut (Bisharp) @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Pursuit

Replacing Santa the Scizor is my physical sweeper, new fairykiller and complete badass, it's Juggernaut the Bisharp!! As the team's knight is shining armor, Juggernaut was destined to be the destroyer of worlds. The Life Orb gives Bisharp the extra oomph in it's attacks, leaving holes in someone's team with no effort. Bisharp also eliminates the Landorus-T threat, with Defiant boosting it's attack to crazy heights, since a +1 Sucker Punch kills the cat of concrete after Stealth Rocks damage. The nature and EVs boost Juggernaut's attack EVEN HIGHER to crazy levels, almost on par with Levi's monstrous 427 attack. The moveset may be pretty simple and predictable, but even resisting the attacks from this bad boy smashes a chunk of your HP to oblivion. Knock Off screws around with all scarfers and Eviolites thinking they can take a hit. Sucker Punch destroys you before you can blink. Iron Head blows up all fairies that come and try to take it's dark attacks. And finally, Pursuit traps all weakened pokemon, thinking they could run away. In short, Juggernaut is the irresistable force to this team, destroying all foes, and taking no prisoners. Watch your back...

AimBot (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

As the second part of my VoltTurn, my physical wall, and my Talonflame/Landorus-T killer, it's everyone's favorite washing machine of death, AimBot the Rotom-Wash!! To pair up with Santa, I needed a slow Volt Switch user that could take a few hits and have a reliable recovery move that didnt cripple me, like Rest. Seeing the criteria needed, AimBot was a perfect choice. With Lefties and Pain Split, AimBot could recover tons of HP in a turn, if played right. It also allows me to stall bulky physical sweepers better, which would be a serious problem to my team. The nature and EVs allow me to deal with strong flying types like Talonflame and Mega Pinsir easier, and the 44 speed EVs outspeed Jolly Max Speed Azumarill for the Volt Switch/Will-o-Wisp. The moveset is pretty simple, with Hydro Pump as STAB, Volt Switch for the VoltTurn momentum, Will-o-Wisp to screw with physical sweepers, especially Dragon Dancers like Mega Gyarados, and Pain Split for the recovery. As the best partner for Scizor out in the OU metagame, AimBot is the squire of Santa, helping him whenever he can in any way possible.

Kraken (Garchomp) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw

Looking at my team, I saw that I needed a hazard setter and lead that was not a steel type, since Magnezone, the destroyer of worlds, was turning out to be a threat to my team, so I also needed a nice Magnezone counter. And the pokemon that filled up the criteria was none other than the one and only Kraken the Garchomp!! With speed fast enough to outspeed the base 100s, which is most of the tier, Kraken is one of the best leads I have seen, with power to sweep if given the chance. The Lum Berry is to play around with pokemon like Sableye to net the KO with 2 Sword Dances bypassing the attack drop from the Will-o-Wisp. If I am not wrong, burns drop your attack 2 times, so 2 SDs bypass it pretty well. Stealth Rock is the hazard for this team, and EQ and DClaw are for STAB. To summarize, Kraken is the scout of this team, scouting potential threats Levi might not predict, and setting traps for the enemy to sweep.

Tesla (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 68 SpA / 168 SpD / 20 Spe
Calm Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Defog
- Heat Wave

Needing a defogger that wouldnt give me a Gengar or fairy weakness made me throw the Lati twins out the window since they wouldnt fill up the criteria needed to fit in my team. However, one pokemon did it right. Enter the legendary bird of thunder, Tesla. I know the normal set is the physically defensive set, but I needed some special bulk on this bad boy to wall both sides of the attack, with AimBot up there taking all the physical hits. Leftovers was an obvious choice for an item to tank even better and for longevity, while Roost compliments the item with it healing Tesla halfway. The EVs may seem weird, but they are needed, with just enough SpAtk EVs to guarantee the OHKO on Mega Pinsir, HP EVs to get the maximum Lefties recovery (6%) and enough speed EVs to outspeed the base 60s like Magnezone. The nature and remaining 168 EVs are dumped into the special side as much as possible to tank the special hits my team could have trouble with. The moveset is self-explanatory, with Thunderbolt for STAB and to destroy Mega Pinsir, or normal Gyarados (the RestTalk version), Roost for recovery to keep my defogger, Defog to sweep away any hazards that could sabotage my VoltTurn, and Heat Wave as my coverage move to destroy all steel types thinking they could tank a Thunderbolt and get away with it (especially Mega Scizor and Magnezone). In a way, Tesla is the team's castle, taking hits and dealing damage right back, while protecting the remaining members from attacks that could possibly finish them in an instant.

Levi (Gallade) @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Drain Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Knock Off

I guess we cant hold off this guy for long. As the king and leader of this team, my physical setup sweeper and win condition Levi "Beyblade" Ackerman the Gallade!! Also, a shout-out to Albacore for suggesting this mega indirectly through his wallpaper XD. This guy is a total beast(just like in the AOT anime!!).350 speed and a whopping 427 attack makes Levi one of the strongest megas in the pokemon world. And the 427 attack is WITHOUT the adamant nature. The EVs and nature give Levi the maximum speed he can have and tons of attack to spare, enough to slay Titans. The moveset is pretty simple, with Swords Dance giving Levi steroids, boosting his crazy high attack EVEN MORE (it will go OVER 9000!!!) and Drain Punch healing Levi to either tank a hit better or keep him alive. Zen Headbutt was chosen over Psycho Cut for the extra power and the nice flinch chance, in case I meet a situation where I actually DONT OHKO (once in a blue moon :P), and Knock Off for some coverage and scarfer's bane, destroying the ghost types that THINK they can punk me when they think I will pull out a Drain Punch.

And there's the team!! Now to cover the threats I had encountered while laddering!

  1. Scarfed Landorus-Therian (AimBot is the only thing that can deal with the flying cat of concrete. When he falls, I am pretty much done, unless Levi or Santa can pull something off after tanking an EQ and get the Knock Off to destroy it)

Right now that was usually the only thing that could have put holes in my team when I was laddering, and I will edit my threatlist once I find more threats on the ladder. Until next RMT, this is The Grim Garchomp, signing off.

Importapurp:

Levi (Gallade) @ Galladite

Hi! I saw your previous RMT and liked the way it was structured and built. So now I'm here with this one, and about to rate it.

I've noticed that MGallade is getting A LOT of love lately, and I have no idea why other than it is truly underrated.
But other than that, I really like this team. But there are some things I would replace.

First of all would be Scizor. If you're running MGallade, you need to run the legendary Duo of him paired with Bisharp. It's called legendary for a reason. Here's a set that you should use.

Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off

This will benefit your team heavily.
Next is MGallade, where I would run Close Combat > Drain Punch since Gallade doesn't have too much bulk and is truly a sweeper, he's not supposed to survive a good hit.
Zapdos should be running Discharge so you can get the possible Paralyze chance.
Since you're running a LeadChomp, run Focus Sash.
Everything else is fine.

Hope it helps.

Hi there, I have to say I really enjoy this team and it is honestly one of the best Mega-Gallade teams I've ever seen so great job on that. The first thing I suggest is that you change Zen Headbutt to Psycho Cut on Mega Gallade. The reason I suggest this is because 10% miss chance doesn't happen too often but when it does I find it a huge disappointment. The 10 power difference doesn't add up to too much more damage (Gallade can still do a ton of damage with his monstrous attack stat) and as you are missing every 10 hits or so Psycho cut can be worth more in the end. The next point I'd like to make is that the highest base speed on your team is 110 which is a decent speed tier but as an offensive team with no scarfers and only one option for priority I feel as though you team is too slow. Which brings me to my next suggestion SD Talonflame over Zapdos. Zapdos is a defogger on a team with no focus sashes and no SR weaknesses with the exception of Zapdos itself! Imo having your only SR weak pokemon be you defogger is dumb. Isn't Zapdos the pokemon that hates SR the most? Zapdos' job as a electric typed tank is already done by Rotom who offers more to the team with Status, Volt switch and the ability to beat bird spam. Talonflame offers one of the most powerful priorities in the game and can clean up very nicely. He also offers an insane speed tier and U-Turn makes him a faster pivot or scout than Scizor for when you need a quick U-Turn.

Here is the Talonflame set I used:

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Swords Dance

EDIT: DO the Bisharp change that the person above me suggested he is very right about it.

Thank you all who have rated, I have seen your suggestions and have come to a decision:

Firstly, I will change Zen Headbutt to Psycho Cut, since I had encountered the Zen Headbutt miss...5 times in one day. Since I am pretty pissed by that crap I had gotten from Showdown, I will put Psycho Cut instead.

Secondly, I will change Scizor to Bisharp (I will miss him ;-;) for the MGallade pairing. Also Sucker Punch is very appreciated in my team, and Bisharp also takes out Mew quickly, as I had a bit of trouble with it before, with it surviving a Shadow Ball from Jester then proceeding to destroy me with Knock Off.

Thirdly, I will change Thunderbolt on Zapdos to Discharge as Parahax could be VERY useful to my slow team, with my fastest pokemon only going at 350 max speed.

Also, I need some help in fitting a scarfer on this team to revengekill all the speedsters of OU, while taking away my Landorus-T weakness. Any suggestions??

P.S: My team is open for use Lost Lord, thanks for asking.

Your resist to Landorus-T? Landorus-Therian. Lol.
Use this set.

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Spe / 4 Def / 252 Atk
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-Turn
- Stone Edge/Knock Off/Superpower
- Knock Off/Superpower/Stone Edge

I would replace Garchomp with Landorus-T, he can also be your Bisharp Check with Superpower.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Spark3ly again, and seeing that we are taking away my hazard user forces me to use the slow, non-scarfed set, which still counters the concrete cat of crap. I will be using this set:

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Rock Slide

From seeing Rock Slide, you know that I have completely lost faith in Stone Edge.

Hello! I've been playing this team with my other alts and it's been pretty good. As I was testing this team out, I used Sash Garchomp over Lum Berry and it has proven me useful at some situations. I just thought I'd share my input with you. Congrats on the peak. I'm still getting more battling practice and this team helped me learn a thing or two about battling.
