Hullo RU! It's me Mayo with a cool RMT that's based around Liechi Berry Endure Hitmonlee. I normally use sample and RMT teams to ladder and am normally succesful with them in every tier except RU :( I decided to make my own team for RU, and i actually succeded! My proof of peak : ^28271AF0331E61BCDC7EAF79598CA006F43368A115C46DB7A1^pimgpsh_fullsize_distr.jpg

Hitmonlee isnt dead yet...:] Listen to this while looking over my team :]

My team is a Bizarre balance and it looks half stall/ half hyper offense. This is probably my favourite type of team as it has nukes to dish great damage and bulk to take all the hits as well.
My teambuilding process was lazy af, just got a few good cores from the good cores page, so let's just skip to the team :-)

THE SKWAAAD

spiritomb.gif

CancerTomb (Spiritomb) @ Black Glasses
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Foul Play
- Will-O-Wisp

Used to have pursuit houndoom in the slot, but thanks to Chakra's suggestion I changed it to spiritomb. It provides a slightly better fighting resist than amoonguss, now has the ability to instantly burn the opponents, while still keeping the role to pursuit. It also gives me a MUCH better counter to meloetta which used to be troublesome switching in (steelix takes like 75-100% from fblast or somethin). Priority in sucker punch is always nice, and foul play is a decent stab move and nice for set up sweepers like fletchinder
steelix-mega.gif

CancerSnake (Steelix-Mega) @ Steelixite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 228 HP / 56 Atk / 216 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

This thing is so easy to slap on so many teams. The spread here is to deal with special attackers like meloetta a little better (i forgot why i had this exact spread :[ ) Heavy Slam is a hard sitting Stab that destroys many skinny and small RU pokemon with the highest base power being 120 :O. EQ the all reliant and powerful ground stab to deal respectable amount of damage. Stealth Rocks is a staple for every team and especially this team cause of the amount of passive damage this team deals (two toxic users, a rocky helmeter asw). Toxic is mainly for alomomolas who think they can come in for free. I opted toxic over stone edge cause fletch really isnt a problem for this team with rocky helmet alomomola and roar is an option but im not full hazard stack so its uses are limited compared to Toxic.

alomomola.gif

CancerFish (Alomomola) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic

This may infact be one of the most loved and hated pokemon in the tier. It's bulk is staggering and disgusting. It's wishes are massive, which can heal steelix to 75% atleast. Protect is to ensure that alomomola gets the guaranteed Wish for itself (and especially useful for wish stalling >:3 ) Scald is the best move in the game with that nifty 100% chance to burn, and Toxic is useful for other bulky waters, especially for CM slowking which can otherwise be a problem for this team. All in all, the glue of my team.

amoonguss.gif

CancerShroom (Amoonguss) @ Black Sludge Ability: Regenerator EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
Bold Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Clear Smog / HP Fire

Ahh Amoonguss. One of the best answers to many of the water, electric and grass types in the tier because of its amazing grass/poison ability. It has pretty good bulk, but a big appeal is regenerator, which heals 33% everytime amoonguss switches out. This forms a regenerator core with alomomola. Standard Spread to have good mixed bulk. Spore is SUCH a good move. Crippling a pokemon and turning 6V6 to 6V5 is great. Giga drain is there to heal some health while being a decent move to damage bulky waters like slowking and jellicent. Sludge Bomb is also good damage vs opposing grass types and fairies. I had HP fire on amoonguss for the longest time (I believe I had it when I peaked #9), but Malamar was a HUGE threat. I've only lost around five times with this team on my journey from 1200-1500 and three of the loses were solely the fault of malamar, so I opted for clear smog. Overall this is a really good pokemon and definitely holds it's spot in the team by being a fat nuisance alongside alomomola.

Btw OU players pls stop spamming this in OU :( Let it stay in RU :(

meloetta.gif

CancerBae (Meloetta) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball

This is easily one of the MVP's of the team. The sheer amount of games I have won because of this monster is off the charts. Choice Specs Meloetta NUKES things. Hyper Voice and Psychic are two equally strong stab attacks, which can be suitably spammed depending on the opponent's team. Biggest checks to Meloetta include steel pokemon and most of them get blown back by focus blast. Just see the calcs:

252 SpA Choice Specs Meloetta Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 76 SpD Mega Steelix: 374-440 (105.6 - 124.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Meloetta Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Registeel: 210-248 (57.6 - 68.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
**AV Escav lives 2
The Initial set had U-turn but that felt like a waste to me so I added shadow ball to blow back Hoopa, which the team struggles to switchin, and Bronzong. It also does a hefty chunk to spiritomb which remains as the one true counter to meloetta.

Spread is to maximise speed to outspeed everything under base 90, and max special attack to nuke.

AND ITS TIME TO RELEASE THE GOD

hitmonlee.gif

The Cancer LORD (Hitmonlee) @ Liechi Berry
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Endure
- Reversal
- Knock Off
- Mach Punch / Stone Edge

This set is the reason why a trash player with 50% GXE who couldnt even make it past 1300 in RU peaked #9. This Hitmonlee is amazingly powerful. Many people looking at the team, and noticing it's lack of immediate speed assume Lee is scarf or fake out unburden. Once your at 1% Hitmonlee literally nukes opposing teams. I have a calc that'll blow ur mind:
+1 252+ Atk Hitmonlee Reversal (200 BP) vs. 120 HP / 136+ Def Alomomola: 474-558 (94.6 - 111.3%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

This thing legit can kill a full health alomomola. I hope that shows the sheer power of Hitmonlee. Not to mention Unburden doubles your speed to such levels that it outspeeds all base 100 speed scarfers (mainly flygon) and scarfers like Delphox. Knock Off is for fat psychics that escape doom's wrath. Reversal, the main STAB lee abuses has 200 Base Power at 1%, ohkoes everything that doesn't resist it. Stealth rocks are key for this set, so no random sashers stop the sweep, and spamming knock off early in the game is also nice to get rid of other rocky helmet pokemon. Mach Punch is to escape random priority like Ice shard sneasel, sucker punch houndoom etc. Stone Edge can be used for togetic and golbat.

Hey man, nice team!

Here's a rate:

Due to the nature of needing alomomola a lot on this team, especially to pass wishes to mons like steelix, meloetta, etc I would recommend changing rocky helmet to leftovers. Rocky helmet assists in damaging physical threats however it does not alomomola to gain gradual recover each turn, which is of severe importance to this mon. Leftovers will allow you to increase the longevity of this mon, as well as survive 2hkos that you would not normally survive with rocky helmet. Also on alomomola I would recommend careful over bold. Since durant is gone, bold isn't needed for anymore for dealing with those life orb or banded thunder fangs, and spdef nature and as you have a mega steelix, tyrantrum is considered less of a problem. Alomomola's longevity will increase through a calm careful nature and will let it take less damage from mons such as meloetta, mega camerupt, and sigilyph which could otherwise prove threatening for this team.

Now that the alomomola is more a spdef mon, I would recommend changing the steelix EVs to 252 HP / 96 Atk / 76 SpD / 84 Spe with an adamant nature. Your steelix spread is lacking speed and due to this it will be slower than a lot of threatening mons. The 84 speed EVS allow it to outspeed uninvested base 40s such as rhyperior and damage them with heavy slam, or even earthquake. 96 attack is needed with the adamant nature to ohko threats such as tyrantrum and mega glalie after rocks. If needed you can remain in regular form to keep sturdy intact and kill off special threats like delphox and houndoom from full hp with earthquake. I would also now recommend changing stone edge > toxic as fletchinder can actually be a problem for this with these additional changes. +2 Fletchinder can severally threaten this team if mega steelix is gone and toxicant can let users heal bell at a potential later time. Stone edge instantly OHKOS fletchinder and takes care of it so it is no longer a future threat

Another recommendation I would make to this team is swapping out spiritomb > houndoom as amoonguss makes for a shaky fighting resist and it is your only one. The only fighting mon it properly defends against is hitmonlee, while others such as medicham and sawk can be quite threatening with their other coverage. I would recommit carrying a pursuit trapper set with sucker/pursuit/wisp/foul play. This set assists in checking dangerous fighting types and crippling them with burns. Foul play > taunt that it would normally not be able to touch with the sucker and pursuit combination. Priority is also greatly appreciated on this team for checking mons like delphox as the team can be slow without the unburden boosted lee.

Although this mon is the focus of your team an optional change would be changing your berry hitmonlee to a scarf reckless hitmonlee. The effects of the berry is very dependant on your opponents team and may not work against stally builds where they will not whittle you down to the hp needed for your berry and reversal to take effect. In this case this leaves hitmonlee in a very helpless spot. to assist with this scarf will always be full powered and can help with mons that even threaten this team. For example SD Zen headbutt Virizion is a very threatening and common mon to this team. Scarf hitmonlee allows for an unpredicted high jump kick to OHKO the virizion rendering a major threat gone. Also this set allows for an emergency spin to keep hazards off the field if spikes and rocks become too excess, or even to keep the sturdy on steelix.

Alomomola @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 136 HP / 120 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Toxic
- Protect
- Wish
- Scald

Spiritomb @ Black Glasses
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Foul Play
- Will-O-Wisp

Steelix @ Steelixite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Atk / 76 SpD / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge

and an optional change...

Hitmonlee @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVS: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- Rapid Spin
- Stone Edge

Nice team and hope you have success with it!

Nice team dude...actually I have lost a couple of times to it(geerat on showdown) ,
-Just that spiritomb over houndoom as medicham is annoying as for you becuase you can't just depend on alomola to tank off all the attacks.
-And just give some speed to steelix set.
That's all Best of Luck :o)

Thanks for the rate bro. I'm gonna test Tomb>Doom and the suggested sets. I'll test scarf lee asw and thanks again :)

:) yeah tomb seems nice, but now my team is a little slow. This is a semi stall-balance kinda team so I shouldn't be too worried tbh

Thanks for the shoutout mayoouran2 ! Glad to see you are still enjoying my teams (Adaptability sucks dont use it), and this team is actually really cool. I have been sort of trying to get into RU a little bit, but Spiritomb looks like a perfect fit. Chakra really got it down, but just wanted to say I agreed with that.

Good luck with the team man, I will try it if I start to do some RU!
