Sun Sweeper (Charizard-Mega-Y) @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
Level: 50
SPs: 16 HP / 25 Def / 12 SpA / 13 Spe
Modest Nature
- Heat Wave
- Weather Ball
- Solar Beam
- Protect

[SET COMMENTS]

* Mega Charizard Y is a ruthless sweeper dealing immense damage with its Fire-type attacks. It threatens OHKOs and 2HKOs on the majority of the metagame such as Mega Floette, Kingambit, Sinistcha, and Mega Metagross. Mega Charizard Y opts to run bulk rather than maximizing its offense and Speed to help it survive longer in contrast to Regulation M-A.

* **Three Attacks Sweeper**: Mega Charizard Y dominates simply using three attacks: Heat Wave, Weather Ball, and Solar Beam. Heat Wave provides powerful spread Fire-type damage. Weather Ball deals insane Fire-type damage while sun is active or provides handy coverage depending on the weather, and it is unaffected by Wide Guard. Solar Beam is necessary to threaten Water-types like Basculegion-M and Mega Swampert.

* **Drought**: The sun set by Drought increases the damage of Mega Charizard Y's Fire-type attacks, guaranteeing that Heat Wave will OHKO Kingambit and Sinistcha. It also allows Solar Beam to be used in a single turn, enables Venusaur's Chlorophyll, and reduces the damage of Wave Crash from Basculegion-M and Mega Swampert.

* **Mega Evolving Charizard**: Mega Charizard Y should not Mega Evolve right away unless there are no foes that can override the sun. It is best to wait until the opponent has sent out or Mega Evolved their weather setter like Pelipper and Mega Froslass before Mega Evolving Mega Charizard Y to ensure sun is not overridden.

Other Options
========

* **Helping Hand**: Helping Hand can be run over Solar Beam when Mega Charizard Y is paired with Venusaur. Helping Hand-boosted Solar Beam from Life Orb Venusaur OHKOs Garchomp and Mega Aerodactyl, dealing significantly more damage than Mega Charizard Y's own Solar Beam.

* **Ancient Power**: Ancient Power is a niche move used instead of Solar Beam primarily as a surprise attack to OHKO opposing Mega Charizard Y and to let it threaten Ceruledge and Hisuian Arcanine. An omni boost from Ancient Power is also extremely beneficial for Mega Charizard Y, letting it survive Rock Slide and giving it a chance to OHKO Mega Floette with Weather Ball.

SP Spreads
========

* **16 HP / 25 Def / 12 SpA / 13 Spe with Modest**: The given spread lets Mega Charizard Y survive Rock Slide from non-Life Orb Garchomp and gives it a good chance to survive Mystic Water-boosted Wave Crash from Adaptability Jolly Basculegion-M in the sun. 13 Speed SPs let Mega Charizard Y outspeed maximum Speed Modest Venusaur without active Chlorophyll, and the remaining SPs are invested into Special Attack to maximize Mega Charizard Y's damage output.

* **30 HP / 31 Def / 1 SpA / 4 Spe with Modest**: This bulkier SP spread provides Mega Charizard Y with a high chance to survive Rock Slide from Life Orb-boosted Jolly Garchomp and Aerodactyl and grants a favorable chance to survive Wave Crash from Life Orb-boosted Adaptability Basculegion-M in the sun. The Speed investment ensures Mega Charizard Y outruns Adamant Mega Swampert and Mega Tyranitar in the sun, and the remaining SPs are put into Special Attack.

* **16 HP / 17 Def / 10 SpA / 25 Spe with Timid**: This faster SP spread allows Mega Charizard Y to outspeed Excadrill in the sun as well as Glimmora and Hisuian Arcanine. The defensive investment allows Mega Charizard Y to survive Rock Slide from -1 Lycanroc-D, and the leftover SPs maximize Mega Charizard Y's Special Attack.

Teambuilding
========

* **Checks and Weaknesses**: Mega Charizard Y's biggest adversaries are Rock-types such as Mega Tyranitar, Mega Aerodactyl, Lycanroc-D, and Glimmora. They all easily threaten OHKOs with Rock Slide, Accelerock, and Power Gem respectively while Mega Charizard Y struggles to KO them.

* Mega Raichu Y outspeeds Mega Charizard Y and easily threatens an OHKO with Zap Cannon.

* Rain teams are difficult for Mega Charizard Y to defeat. Rain significantly reduces the damage of Heat Wave and Solar Beam, and it enables Mega Swampert's Swift Swim, allowing it to outspeed and OHKO Mega Charizard Y with Wave Crash. Pelipper, Archaludon, and Sinistcha are also difficult for Mega Charizard Y to remove while rain is active. Pelipper and Archaludon threaten to OHKO Mega Charizard Y with Weather Ball and Electro Shot, respectively. Sinistcha can also set up Trick Room, allowing Pelipper and Archaludon to attack first, and it can provide them with redirection as well as healing thanks to Hospitality.

* Although Mega Charizard Y can survive their attacks, Garchomp and Basculegion-M are still threats to it. Mega Charizard Y is naturally outrun by Garchomp and is unable to KO it with Solar Beam before Garchomp attacks twice with Rock Slide. Basculegion-M can outspeed Mega Charizard Y with Tailwind support from Whimsicott, giving Basculegion-M an opportunity to KO Mega Charizard Y before it can attack.

* While it is an uncommon pick, Ceruledge walls all of Mega Charizard Y's attacks, so it can easily take advantage of this to set up with Bulk Up and proceed to snowball.

* **Good Partners and Synergies**: Garchomp and Basculegion-M are Mega Charizard Y's best partners, easily threatening Rock-types and Ceruledge as well as opposing Garchomp and Basculegion-M. Garchomp in particular can remove Mega Raichu Y. They are also great at pressuring opposing Mega Charizard Y.

* While Mega Floette cannot be used in the same battle as Mega Charizard Y, it synergizes well as an alternative Mega Evolution when Mega Charizard Y has an unfavorable matchup. Mega Floette is great at removing Garchomp and deals devastating damage to Pokemon commonly found on rain teams like Pelipper, Mega Swampert, and Archaludon. In return, Mega Charizard Y can easily threaten Mega Metagross, Gholdengo, Mega Gengar, and Mega Mawile, all of which Mega Floette is threatened by.

* Incineroar is great at providing damage mitigation with Intimidate, ensuring that Mega Charizard Y survives Rock Slide from the Rock-types and Garchomp. It also provides Fake Out support to let Mega Charizard Y dish out damage safely.

* Venusaur threatens Mega Aerodactyl and Garchomp, which Mega Charizard Y struggles to damage, as well as common Water-types like Basculegion-M, Mega Blastoise, and Mega Swampert. Sleep Powder can also disrupt foes, letting Mega Charizard Y stick around for longer.

* Mega Charizard Y is a ruthless sweeper dealing immense damage with its Fire-type attacks. It's role in Regulation M-B is identical to Regulation M-A where (tbh, this is likely fluff and can be cut) it threatens OHKOs and 2HKOs on the majority of the metagame and opts to run bulk rather than maximizing its offense and speed to help it survive longer (I'm not sold on this being in here, it feels more like something to be mentioned when talking about the spread. Might need to be reworded or just add "in contrast to Regulation M-A" somewhere. Also would like to see mentions of mons it shits on, Mega Floette Sinistcha Mega Metagross and Kingambit come to mind).

* **Three Attacks Sweeper**: Mega Charizard Y dominates simply using 3 attacks, Heat Wave, Weather Ball and Solar Beam. Heat Wave provides powerful spread Fire-type damage. Weather Ball deals insane Fire-type damage while sun is active or provides handy coverage damage depending on the weather (would mention getting around wide guard). Solar Beam is necessary to threaten Water-types like Basculegion-M and Mega Swampert.

* **Drought**: The sun set by Drought increases the damage of Mega Charizard Y's Fire-type attacks guaranteeing Heat Wave will OHKO Kingambit and Sinistcha and it allows Solar Beam to be used in a single turn to threaten foes and it enables Venusaur's Chlorophyll as well as reducing the damage of Wave Crash from Basculegion-M and Mega Swampert.

* **Mega Evolving Charizard**: Mega Charizard Y should not mega evolve right away unless there are no foes which can override the sun. It is best to wait until the opponent has sent out or mega evolved their weather setter like Pelipper and Mega Froslass before mega evolving Mega Charizard Y to ensure sun is not overriden overidden.

Other Options (Note: not every Pokemon needs this section!)
========

* **Helping Hand**: Helping Hand can be ran run over Solar Beam where when Mega Charizard Y is paired with Venusaur. Helping Hand-boosted Solar Beam from Life Orb Venusaur OHKOs Garchomp and Mega Aerodactyl, dealing significantly more damage than Mega Charizard Y's own Solar Beam.

SP Spreads
========

* **16 HP / 25 Def / 12 SpA / 13 Spe with Modest**: The given spread lets Mega Charizard Y survive Rock Slide from non-boosting item Life Orb (unsure of any other boosting items they run) Garchomp and a good chance to survive Mystic Water-boosted Wave Crash from Basculegion-M (would specify whether or not you are in the sun and the ability + nature of basculegion-m; assuming this is in the sun from jolly adaptability basc after checking calcs?). 13 Speed SPs outspeed max Speed Modest Venusaur without active Chlorophyll and the remaining SPs are invested into Special Attack to maximize Mega Charizard Y's damage output.

* **32 HP / 22 Def / 7 SpA / 5 Spe with Bold**: This bulkier SP spread ensures Mega Charizard Y Rock Slide from Life Orb-boosted Jolly Garchomp and Aerodactyl and grants a favourable chance to survive Wave Crash from Life Orb-boosted Basculegion-M (specify the weather, ability, and nature). The Speed investment ensures Mega Charizard Y outruns Tyranitar and the remainder are put into Special Attack (is tyranitar really the most relevant? I think you can keep it, though I would prioritize finding something else).

Teambuilding
========

* **Checks and Weaknesses**: Mega Charizard Y's biggest adversaries are Rock-types such as Mega Tyranitar, Mega Aerodactyl, Lycanroc-D and Glimmora. They all easily threaten OHKOs with Rock Slide, Accelerock and Power Gem respectively while Mega Charizard Y struggles to KO them.

Pelipper, Archaludon and Sinistcha are also difficult for Mega Charizard Y to remove while rain is active (would elaborate on this a bit, mention Pelipper and Archaludon threatening Charizard with Weather Ball and Electro Shot, maybe mention Sinistcha setting up Trick Room to counteract the Tailwind that Mega Charizard Y is so commonly paired with).

* Despite being able to live their attacks, Garchomp and Basculegion-M are still threats to Mega Charizard Y. Mega Charizard Y is naturally outran by Garchomp and it is unable to KO Garchomp with Solar Beam before Garchomp attacks twice with Rock Slide. Basculegion-M can outspeed Mega Charizard Y with Tailwind support from Whimsicott giving Basculegion-M an opportunity to KO Mega Charizard Y before it can attack.

Mega Floette is great at removing Garchomp and deals devastating damage to pokemon commonly found on rain teams like Pelipper, Mega Swampert and Archaludon. (i would mention myard helping into mmaw, mmeta, ghold, and mgar)

* Venusaur has made its debut in regulation M-B as a common Mega Charizard Y partner. (feels like fluff) Venusaur threatens Mega Floette which Mega Charizard Y can struggle to (tbh, Mega Charizard Y does amazing into Mega Floette. I would maybe talk about damaging mtoise and maero?) and threatens the common Water-types like Basculegion-M and Mega Swampert. Sleep Powder can also disrupt foes letting Mega Charizard Y stick around for longer.
