Let's face it. Most of our ladders are pretty inactive, even though we have a lot of really cool metagames with permanent status this generation. So we're going to issue a monthly challenge. Players will have until the last day of the month to get as high as possible on a particular ladder. But wait. Where's the challenge in that? Well, introducing...

General Rules
  • You must post in to the challenge and submit a new PS alt for the month. Put OML in your alt so other users know you're in the challenge. This will also help us catch cheaters.
  • You can only ladder with the current restrictions in place. One month it may be something like a Dark Horse challenge, other months it may be a whole new twist. If you are caught using an illegal team, you forfeit your score for that month.
  • Don't update your ladder ranking in this thread. We will review the ladder at the end of the month.
  • Do discuss how your team competes on the ladder against the "typical" archetypes. This project is about trying new things as well as proving yourself as a great battler. We want to hear how it's going. Post your entire team if you want, but don't forget this is a competition...
  • May Ladder Specific Rules:
    • Format: Tier Shift
    • You have a $30 allowance. Each tier equals an amount determined by the boost it receives. So OU/BL = $0, UU/BL2 = $5, RU/BL3 = $10, and NU & below = $15. Build a team without spending more than your allowance!
  • Prizes
    • The hardest thing about these challenges will probably be finding matches. However, if you manage to rank #1 in the list of OML challengers three different times (doesn't have to be consecutive), you will receive voice in the Other Metas room on Showdown!
    • Anyone ranked 2-5 will receive a shout out on the Smogon_Eevee Twitter accounts!

I know the number is not required but it's easier that way to check if someone made an alt before the legal start date, also it gives me an easy format to put tags for the next laddering challenges :P
