SV OU Lokix team thoughts

https://pokepast.es/9c14609279175ef4

This team is an attempt to build around lokix And Iron Crown as an offensive core.

: :Lokix:

a choice band set that is meant to act as a powerful physical wallbreaker that hits hard with stab knock off to deal with opponents items like rocky helmet or heavy duty boots Its fantastic in the late game to deal with get past things like the sucker punch mind games in the endgame. And it has access to stab u turn to allow for either pivoting to a more favorable matchup, or to keep an opponent in the vortex. It is weak to hazard stacks as well.
: :Cinderace:

To deal with the issue of hazards : is there to court change them to the other side. It: is max speed to make sure that if need be a court change can be gotten off. To allow it to have stab for every move the ability is libero to either have stab u turn when pivoting, dark typing when going against gambit to change its typing and resist dark and allows for a shadow ball immunity on a :gholdengo: shadow ball with court change. Then it is tera grass to resist things like cudgel from :ogerpon-wellspring: .

: :Garganacl:

included for two central reasons. The first is to wall most relevant special attackers (outside of :raging bolt: and :primarina: ). Its tera fairy is to deal with things like specs draco meteor from :dragapult: , :walking wake: , or a boosted raging bolt, and is a great check for iron moth. It can even be translated over to handling iron defense body press zamazenta in a 1v1. It is however weak to encore sets so generally its there more as a wall than a sweeper.
: :Corviknight:

To deal with immediate physical threats we have rocky helmet max hp max physical defense corviknight. The matchup against rain can be a bit rough so its tera dragon to deal with that matchup as well as handling ogerpon-wellspring. Brave bird is mostly for the ogerpon matchup as well however it has shown itself to be a solid check to :Iron valiant: as well regardless of whether its special or physical. In addition its running defog if something goes awry with cinderace and uturn to conserve momentum through pivoting.
: :Iron Crown:

Since these are physical threats, a relevant special attacker was needed and to provide a favorable matchup into stall i ended up on iron crown. With powerful stab steel type moves in tachyon cutter that provide a great counter into things like sash lead glim or any specially frail mons it fit well. Volt switch is there to allow for easy pivoting to keep up the pressure when need be, and psynoise is there to mostly handle the stall matchup but since its a stab move it can be used as a relatively hard hitting offensive option on specs crown. I ran tera fight focus blast for the gambit matchup but it isnt clicked very often and was considering switching it to tera ice tera blast to deal with the likes of gliscor as it can be troublesome to handle for this team.
: :Dragapult:

Dragapult is included on the team for speed control being only second to :deoxys-speed: , and its running a more support role with a wisp t-wave hex set with dragon darts as well so it can put in work as a mixed attacker. Its tera ghost to avoid issues with espeed ice spinner :dragonite: so you can get off a wisp and go into corviknight after and handle it more easily, and twave to get rid of things like :slowking-galar: and :moltres: a bit more seamlessly to open up the match for crown and lokix.

Some of the most glaring weaknesses in the matchups have been dealing with the likes of Raging Bolt and Gliscor :Gliscor: . Raging Bolt :Raging bolt: has enough hp that it can take a hit pretty easily from most of the team and dish out massive damage and gliscor is bulky enough that it can typically live some hits from crown to where it can either knock off the specs or just eq for massive damage, so typically either both pult and crown are needed to handle it or corvi can typically pp stall it. Other weak points include: ruination hazard stacks ting lu can cause some issues long term and ghold can typically be used to limit the number of turns lokix enters so that you cant just pivot around to preserve your momentum. In addition If you don't tread lightly with Walking Wake :Walking Wake: sun it can get out of hand since there aren't any real resists to specs Hydro stream.

Hello really cool team I’m a fan of band :lokix: as well. There are a couple issues I’d like to help with.

1. I noticed there wasn’t any ground type here so there wasn’t really a way to punish electric type attacks from Pokemon like :raging bolt: and also a way to stop volt switch. So there for I opted for :great tusk: > :garganacl: this also gives you a more sturdy :kingambit: check.

Great Tusk @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Tera Type: Steel
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock

2. Now that you have consistent hazard removal in both :great tusk: and :Corviknight: which :Lokix: appreciates greatly. I opted for another water resistance on this team as you said you had a big issue with that. I feel :raging bolt: helps with that issue. Gives you a decent check to Pokémon such as :ogerpon wellspring:.

Raging Bolt @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 20 Atk
Tera Type: Bug
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Thunderclap
- Dragon Pulse
- Thunderbolt

I think I like the bug tera type here as you resist both fighting and ground type attacks from Pokemon such as :landorus therian: and :great tusk:.

also make sure you use the 4 remaining evs on the rest of your Pokemon. Good luck have fun that’s all the changes I got for you.
