ultimatefreshness - Take a look at the 2nd post and see if you like any from there. There's tons of great ones. Also look at my post near the top of the page. Nice Jolly Dugtrio by the way, I was going to do that!!!! *Kills self*

Awesome found a cool shiny that NOBODY has done yet and gets all moves from level up. Plus its one of my favourite Pokemon, was my favourite when DP came out =P Not revealing what it is, but I'll show you guys when I'm finished. EXPECT IT TO BE COMPETITIVE TOO, FRESH STYLE

Renske - Grats, too bad about the IV's.

Not to be all "Rarr! Pedantic!" but it's spelt Renkse. I just noticed you mispelt it in the first post as well. Easily done, it's a weird name, I suppose that's what you get when you use the last name of the vocalist of a Swedish Doom Metal/Dark Rock band. :P

Anyway, I haven't chained for a couple of days, my last attempt was Scyther, but it's such a major pain to get that first one, and when I finally did I wasn't as careful about my formations as I should have been and broke my chain fairly early. :(

I think I might try Togepi.

bring it on diesel.

MURKROW!!!!! Check!

might be an oddish lol, I managed a chain of 30 and broke it, after I get done breeding something I'll head back to try and get some

Wow, the luckbox known as Kingbattlus continues to get better IV's than I ever get. I'll try a chain today, I haven't tried in a few weeks though.

KB - PM me if you're on AIM today and I'm not.

Renkse - Ooops, roflcopter. My bad!! Renske rolls off the tongue easier.

I finally got the swarm I was looking for! DROWZEE!!! I plan to use a Hypno on at least one of the teams I create, assuming I'm able to get this chain to 40.

But no one told me I would have to chain in the rain... >:(

It's not impossible to chain in that satanic torrential downpour, in the same way that it's not impossible to make a life-sized replica of the Eiffel tower out of toothpicks. It's just a stupid thing to try and do, because in the end, you're only going to look back on your achievment and say 'was I really that bored?'

So far I've fouled up quite a few chains. Hopefully this will be the lucky one. I've also found that Drowzee are a lot more responsive to the rules of chaining then anything else I've tried to chain...

Am I really this bored?

You mean like chaining in the snow! Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.

Exactly. Cept no one really complains about chaining in the thunderstorm. Probably because there isn't really much to chain there. Cept Houndoor... and Drowzee obviously.

So I'm going to change that.

*COMPLAIN*

Currently sitting on 24 Drowzee. I can only concentrate for a couple of Drowzee before I have to put the game down. The storm keeps busting my concentration and playing tricks with my eyes. I've already walked into a 3 away. Lucky that didn't break my chain.

I'll try my damnest to get to the magic number 40. I'll probably kill something if I fail somewhere in the 30s.

Oh, and this is the first chain of mine that I'm using a Sinker with. Cummon' Calm Drowzee!!

Thanks.

Here's a small tip when you're chaining in the storm. Look through the rain. I know it seems simple and obvious, but it helps heaps. Easier said than done though lol.

I'm chaining (Jolly) Snovers. I got to 40 and caught like 4 shinies, all of them shit though. My first shinies on this game though. I'm going to give it another go soon. My main problem is recognizing the shiny patches. they all look the fucking same

You have to do Snorunt in the snow. But, look at the time it takes the patch to flash, ultimatefreshness. The shiny patches take longer than the flashing ones. I haven't tried the rain, I'm pretty sure it's insanely difficult though. I want a shiny muk though, so maybe I'll give it a go.

see thats my problem idk what the differences are. I know its best to go to furthest patch away thats plain and thats probably gonna have your pokemon there but im finding it hard to figure out whats a shiny patch and whats a patch with the pokemon waiting to break my chain >_> a little help here please :(

Just got my chain to 40 and now I'm resetting for shinys. Usually this would mean I could breath a sigh of relief, but not in the Rain at night.

I just found another tip for chaining in the rain. When you reset, you have to keep your eyesight perfectly still. If you break this for even a split second, you'll miss the patches wiggling (except the one you averted your gaze to look at). I think it has something to do with reaction speed in that it takes about half a second for your brain to work out what's going on. You just have to take in the big picture and work out where the patches are from there.

Edit: DAMN!!! IT JUST BROKE!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I BROKE IT AT 40! NO SHINYS!!! GRRRRRRRR!!! BEN IS ANGRY MUCH!!!!!!!!! CHAINING IN THE RAIN IS JUST TOO FRIGGEN DIFFICULT!!!!!!!!! Oh well. On the bright side, I have about 20 forewarning Drowzees that I'm going to take a look at. Maybe one of them will have some decent IVs.

Well, here's the best of the Drowzees I got. I'm not too upset that it isn't shiny... I lie. I'm very upset that it isn't shiny. I spent all of today trying to get a shiny Drowzee and I failed. Anyway, I thought I'd post it up here so that you all could see. After all, I did chain it:

sugimori096.png

NAME: Drowzee
Nature: Calm
Ability: Forewarn
Capable of taking hits
22/11/31/30/27/18

Perfect defence IV :). I'm going to turn it into a switchno. With a... Nasty surprise... Muahahahahaaaaa. It's also going to make a nice UU wall...
