LLAMA is a Tournament where what Pokémon you own is not relevant. The idea of LLAMA is to give you the chance to use any Pokémon you want except for those that are banned. This also gives people a chance to use one of the very powerful legendary Pokémon they would never have the chance to use otherwise.

General Rules:

The previous edition of LLAMA had players using a team of 5 rented pokemon, one of those being a legendary. Every team was determined on the signup and got locked until the end of the tournament.

This time, though, things will be slightly different. Only the legendary will be properly rented, as in: will be a profile made by each player and approved off upon signups. In other words, for the signup to be considered, the player will need to PM me a profile of their chosen legendary as per rules below and said legendary will need to be brought for every match henceforth.

And for the rest of the team? Well...enter the "shared" version.

Drawing from the old SiCK tournament, each player can use any pokemon from any player. Upon the posting of the matchups of the respective round, each player will have to PM the ref 4 pokemon (5 on round 1), being one the legendary picked by the player on the signups and three (4 on round 1) pokemon copied from anyone (including the player himself). For each instance of each pokemon used, the respective trainer will get CC (2CC on R1, 4CC on R2, 6CC on R3 etc). Any pokemon not banned from this tournament (see list below) can be "borrowed", including legendaries!

Finally, also from the old SiCK tournament we will pack on an additional rule, the I-HATE-CENTRALIZATION-RULE: At the end of every round, the 4 most used pokemon will be banned from the remainder of the tournament. The legendaries picked at the begining of the tournament are exempt from that. In case of tie for last place, we will ban all tied pokemon. The idea is to bring your teambuilding skills to their limits!

Signups:

To signup, post in and then PM Frosty your chosen legendary. Its profile will have the following restrictions:
  • The Legendary that you choose have the following restrictions:
    • Maxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxed AC and Hidden Ability Unlocked if they want
    • Any Nature and gender allowed
    • The Pokémon's movepool must consist of:
      • All level-up moves up to Level 25
      • A minimum of five TM/HM's, and eggs (If they have any or up to five with rest in Tutors) or tutors (all gens and if the Pokémon does not have any Egg moves) depending on Pokémon.
      • Any amount of moves that takes your Pokémon up to 50 moves total (You can have less, but no more than 50).
    • Please order moves in order of Level-Up > Egg > Tutor > TM > Event for the convenience of everyone.
  • They must not be banned.

When your legendary meets the conditions (and is legal and correct), Frosty will approve you and your signup will be completed. For the sake of spots and all, the signup will only be considered after the profile is PM'd and approved of. So you posting in this topic doesn't guarantee you in if you take too long in sending your legendary.

This tournament has a banlist. The following items and Pokémon are banned:

Arceus
Cosmog
Cosmoem
Dialga
Diancite
Dawn Wings
Dusk Mane
Giratina
Groudon
Ho-Oh
Prison Bottle
Kyogre
Dark Stone
Light Stone
Lunala
Soul Dew
Lugia
Mew
Mewtwo
Palkia
Rayquaza
Reshiram
Solgaleo
Ultranecronium Z
Victini
Xerneas
Yveltal
Zekrom
Zygarde

Yes this means everybody can roll with celesteela. Enjoy.

Battle Rules:

At the begining of the tournament I will randomly create a bracket on Discord. That bracket will be fixed for the entire tournament.

After the pairing is done and the ref is assigned you have 5 days to PM the ref a team of 4 pokemon. You will copy the pokemon from any of the topics in the Registration Center Subforum, and will keep doing so until you have a team of 5. Something like:

profile
profile
profile
profile

You PM the team to your ref and then proceed to the battle. As you send out the mon, you can choose any non-banned item for it.

When sending your team, you must follow these rules:
  • Always copy and paste the pokemon as is. Don't change formats or include/exclude anything.
  • Mention the Original Trainer (OT) of the pokemon when you are picking it. Preferably on the Hide Tag. Even if it is your own pokemon.
  • The same pokemon can be chosen by more than one player, so you can end up using IAR's Capers against IAR's Capers. Our army of Varied-Sizes Dittos are ready to copy mons as necessary. Just beware as Species Clause is in effect.
  • You pick pokemon every round. You won't have to stick with the same team for the entire tournament.
  • You will use the pokemon as it were on the moment you took it for the battle. If the owner bought moves a second after the battle started, then sucks to be you, I guess.
  • I reserve the right to spam hotfixes as necessary.
  • If you edit the pokemon I will hunt you down and kill you (or simply edit the right mon back in). And maybe even remove you from the tourney.
The battles will have the following rules:

Bring 5, Pick 3 Singles. You PM 5 pokemons to the ref, but the battle will be 3vs3 singles. You will choose your mons as the battle develop. This format will change to B4P3 from R2 onwards and to B4P4 on the finals.
ASB Arena
Strict 3-day Disqualification.
You will get a single warning per round. After that, you go over DQ and you're done. Referees please tag the combatants when you have finished your reffing. Players, if you know you're going to be away you better post a Leave of Absence BEFORE you leave, or give a very good reason in case of an emergency.
Strict 4-day Disqualification for Refs. Same rules as above (one warning and then BAM). Also, you can be sure as hell that I will jump in to subref anyone if necessary.
Hard Limits: After 30 days DQ will be reduced by one day and after 60 days by 2 days.
3 Substitutions.
Turn Order: Coin Flip
2 Recovery/5 Chills per pokemon
All Abilities
All Items
Switch=OK
Mega Clause: 1
Z-Move: 1

LOA Rules:
1)
If your LoA makes you unable to post we will wait up to 4 days. The longer the wait the smaller my patience if you keep pulling that card, so I reserve the right of rescinding it. LoAs without a defined ETA will be read as 3 days. that is per instance. You can't pull it in a row without first dealing with your current orders.
2) If your LoA is of the "will be busier" type, you will get +24h extension until it is over. Maximum time for its duration is 15 days (so during those 15 days you get 24h extra time on your posts). The longer the wait the smaller my patience if you keep pulling that card, so I reserve the right of rescinding it. You can't pull it in a row without first dealing with your current orders.
3) If you have good reasons and your match is well advanced, those rules might be excepted. But don't count on it.
4) If 60 days pass, LoAs will be disregarded entirely. Don't get there.

Prizes:

Battle
Winner: 3 CC, 8 UC
Loser: 3 CC
Referee: Usual tournament payout.

No counters for Pokémon.

Overall
1st place: Choose one of Rayquaza (without Dragon Ascent), Kyurem (With Dark OR Light Stone) or Zygarde (with Power Construct).
2nd place: Keep the Legendary chosen. Legendaries with attachments will come with said attachments, unless they are banned (so gracidea and reveal glass comes with their respective mons, but your hoopa will have to get used to being tiny)
3rd place: 50UC

Should be all. Signups will be open for one week. And we go from there. Unless the ending number is atrocious (like 19) we will work it out with whatever number of players we have.

Oh and we will give preference to players who didn't participate on the last tournaments (Series and Monotype). Just in case.

Alright, turns out I hate myself more than I originally thought.

So, I had originally thought of following Frosty's lead and volunteering to host SiCK 2.0 in his stead. However, I'm gonna go ahead and campaign for something I wanted even more: I'm proposing reviving LLAMA.

For those of you (us?) who weren't here the first time, The Legend Run's Lore, Legends and More Action™ was a tournament where you could include a legendary among your team of rentals. Not only does this format allow players to use Pokémon that they would never have the opportunity to try out otherwise, but the grand prize awaiting at the end is to keep said legendary. Tired of waiting for a TLR to open for that legend you wanted? In here, you can just use it to win the whole thing and keep it for yourself!

However, it's been over a year (November 2015, to be more precise) since LLAMA wrapped up. Since then, we've had a whole bunch of new players who never got the chance to try out a legendary for a battle or two. Moreover, Gen VII came along and brought us a half-dozen more legends for us to try out in a tournament. I think there could be more than enough interest in a tourney that lets people rock some of their otherwise unattainable favorites to make this a fun one.

Not much else to talk about here for the moment, unless this idea gets approved. I do, however, want to push for an additional rule.
FROSTY-IS-RIGHT-AND-CENTRALIZATION-BLOWS RULE: Since this is a rentals tournament, it makes little sense to me to adopt Frosty's proposal for SiCK 2.0 and ban mons after each round, thereby forcing people to redo profiles and teams constantly. However, I also think that a constant stream of Deoxys/Mega Gardevoir/Sableye mirror matches sucks major ass. Therefore, I'd propose adopting something similar to deadfox081's rating system used in LCT. The very very top threats in ASB (you know who you are, Gardevoir ¬¬) would receive a rating of 10, while the next-highest tier would get a 5. Your team of six mons would need to stay within a 10-point threshold, forcing people to think outside the box and try out Pokémon that don't usually receive as much love here in ASB as the usual suspects. (This is obviously a work in progress but you get the idea)

The rest is nothing special--B4P3 Singles, items would work in a similar vein to Monotype Tour, 50 moves per mon, groups followed by single elimination. I won't bore you with the rest of the details, but you get the picture. Those will come after a potential approval of this idea, so yeah.

OH SHIT YEAH prizes. I forgot about those.
Basically, make it to the top three and you can keep one of your team's mons. Make it into the top two, and one of those can be a Legend! or whatever the committee allows me to give out I guess ._.

EDIT: Birkal raised a good point on irc. Depending on what ppl think about it, this could potentially be with five of people's own mons plus a legend instead of six rentals. Feedback is appreciated I guess, so feel free to VM me if you want about this? idk if this'll even get enough interest either way
