Crunch Hippowdon
Is Dual Chop Infernape a thing? Lets be serious come on...
Hippowdon is a defensive monster with a serious case of 4MSS (Earthquake for STAB, Stone Edge, Slack off, Stealth Rock and Toxic) so it hasn't a free moveslot for Crunch (I know that Crunch is cool, but it doesn't fix Hippowdown flaws such as the Spe or the passiveness).
Infernape has a 4MSS but it has enough Spe being a base 108 and Dual Chop, while being no STAB and having limited coverage, enables the Ape to get past some Dragons which otherwise would check/wall it ==> Dual Chop Infernape makes more sense than Crunch Hippowdon in our opinion.

No flame intended, only to clarify.

It was a joke (immitating him). I wasn't being serious :]

Week 10 Specially Defensive Heatran

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 192 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

Heatran is one of the most used Pokemon in the OU Tier besides Tank Chomp mostly because of its Ability (Flash Fire) gives it immunity to Fire Type moves, and its incredible movepool which can be somewhat unpredictable. And lastly its Typing being able to check Pokemon such as Talonflame, Ferrothorn, Latios, and etc.

I'll take Earthquake M-Venusaur

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Earthquake

0- Atk Mega Venusaur Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 248-292 (64.4 - 75.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Heatran is known for completely walling several Pokemon, including Mega Venusaur. However, this set allows you to 2HKO Heatran with M-Venu, which will allow you to eliminate or severly weaken opposing Heatran. I went with the offensive M-Venu set here since I prefer it, but you can use defensive if you want, not like there's a difference between their attack investment.

Earthquake Latios

Latios @ Life Orb/Latiosite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Earthquake
- Roost/Defog

0 Atk Life Orb Latios Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 328-390 (85.1 - 101.2%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

Even though this is not a clean OHKO, Earthquake is a great lure move due to its base power and accuracy combined together thus making it useful towards some Steel-type monsters and it is useful when you already used Draco Meteor (which drops your SpA) because your opponent can think to switch-in carelessly thinking you have to switch-out.

This set run Life Orb as the standard power boosting item but you can even run Latiosite if your team lacks a mega but if the opponent see Mega Latios, he can think you run a mixed set without scouting your moves because Mega Latios has the niche of being a mixed attacker.

A Dragon Dance set is even possible, but not necessary.

Ferrothorn @ Choice Band
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball
- Power Whip
- Bulldoze
- Spikes

Relic of the old BW set, still works as a lure for Heatran and Magnezone, and hits surprisingly hard. Best to pair with something that can remove Skarmory, Scizor, etc that trouble it.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Hidden Power Ground / Focus Blast

Heatran is commonly used to check Clefable and in particular with taunt to stop recovery is often used specifically to wall the pink blob. However, MG calm mind Clefable has an extremely flexible 4th moveslot, and with HP ground makes a very effective Heatran lure:

+1 0 SpA Clefable Hidden Power Ground vs. 248 HP / 192+ SpD Heatran: 180-216 (46.7 - 56.1%) -- 99.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

In return lava plume is only a 5HKO and no burn or toxic damage thanks to magic guard.

0 SpA Heatran Lava Plume vs. 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 99-117 (25.1 - 29.6%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Edit: Focus blast is another option which hits Heatran for the same damage whilst trading perfect accuracy for the ability to also threaten Ferrothorn and Bisharp. So HP ground is a more reliable lure if you need to get rid of Heatran specifically (if focus blast misses, your opponent isn't going to keep Tran in to get hit again) whereas focus blast is generally better coverage and has more use outside of Heatran. Thanks Random Passerby

Doesn't Focus Blast hit for the same damage while also hitting Ferrothorn and Bisharp much harder?

Anyway,

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Ground
- Glare

Heatran normally walls Serperior as it resists the common Grass / Dragon / Fire coverage it carries. However, Hidden Power Ground shows Heatran who's boss while also smacking Zard-X, Jirachi and Magnezone hard.

Altaria @ Altarianite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature / Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Earthquake
- Roost / Fire Blast
Standard DD Megataria set with EQ to kill tran
Adanant is preferred for the extra power
DD is needed for a physical set
Return is also needed for a physical set
EQ lures tran
Roost is preferred for healing, but FB can hit sciz hard

Sorry, but this is literally the first set named "Offensive Dragon Dance" so this can't be really considered a true "lure" (Earthquake on Mega Altaria is not that obscure in a physical set) being almost a standard coverage move.
