Magic: The Gathering

I think the mechanic is really interesting; it's basically Grand Ossuary on dudes with a mana cost instead of a dice roll.

It's -NOT- a Mythic, by the way; only a regular rare.

Scavenge I think is really awesome; the problem I see already though is that Jarad likes things in your graveyard, and you're going to be exiling them with the Guild Mechanic. Seems odd.

Flavourful, and I think it'll be really sweet if they print it on some interesting stuff. Like something with Scavenge - Sacrifice a creature would be sweeeeet.
 
definitely a very good limited mechanic; otherwise it's not really exciting me.

also boseiju in ftv:r seems weird to me. vesuva makes sense, but it kicks valakut out of the number crunch which is dumb imo.
 
I've read some good pros about Scavenge on mtg salvation... could work like a creature with flashback. It'll be interesting to see what they do with this.

boseiju is nice, but it doesn't exactly seal the deal for me. same with vesuva and pretty much the entirety of the box; it would be nice to have them in shiny foil, but it isn't worth the $70 price tag

funny how the same argument applies to the commander's arsenal......
 
That's what Wizards has to worry about now. With the Premium Deck Series dead, FTV will be the best look into the past. FTV: Realms, while it has awesome cards, doesn't have enough OOMPH to warrant spending $35+. Same with Arsenal (except you pay $45 for what you want and $30 for a bunch of useless crap). Also, Holiday Package confirmed for release on 11/16/12.

Well seeing as how the retail price of the packs is $12 as it is, the rest of that stuff for $8 doesn't seem so bad.

yeah the holiday pack is nothing groundbreaking, but more something i'm surprised they've not done before. i think at $20 it's not too bad, but i suppose it depends on how good the promo is (i am not expecting much at all lol).
 
From the name I'm going to go out and assume it is another Golgari card. (it's called Dreg Mangler).

I suppose it's because they do things such as Fat Packs which seem to be a lot more popular.

Funny you should bring that up... I'd thought it would be cool if mtg would make things like this. Now we have to hope that the promo is good.

Izzet vs Golgari decklists, along with four new spoiler cards.

Izzet mechanic confirmed to be Overload, which is "pay more mana target all the things", in short.

There will also be a new cycle of guildmages and Guild Charms (XY, do one of three things). Seems sweet.
 
Izzet Charm sets a high bar that I only hope the rest of the cycle can maintain.
New Golgari Guildmage is... better than the last one at least? Not amazing, but the Saproling generation of its second ability is pretty pro.
 
Izzet charm, Goblin Electromancer, and Dreg Mangler seem sweet. Also comes with Party Troll, Life From the Loam, Brainstorm, and Isochron Scepter. Overload seems sweet too. I'll be picking this up, and most likely playing Izzet at the Pre-Release.
 
Picking up three Izzet vs. Golgari. Two for playing around with, the third for years in the future when WotC stops printing this deck and the price skyrockets.

Also getting a box of Return to Ravnica. Still hoping for a Birds of Paradise re-print in there, since this rotation is going to rob me of Llanowar Elves.

Edit: Anyone intend on attending the Magic Celebration Day events? Mini-Master looks pretty interesting.
 
i will probably buy ivg but only one because i'm not crazy. also i've sorta lost interest in buying boosters so i'm only getting a fat pack of rtr (for the box mostly as well :B).

also i love how they say the signets are too good yet here we are, we have the signets in rtr.
 
I want to know who at Wizards thought that Sorin vs Tibalt was a good idea. I assume its BW Sorin because of the Innistrad flavor but Tibalt is one of the greatest planeswalker flops (I mean its red...). If for some reason its mono-B Sorin... well, they can probably sell a dozen of those things.
 
yeah sorin vs tibalt is such a disappointment compared to izzet vs golgari. i like tibalt but i really want to see where they're going to go with his deck... and there might be some money cards in it, who knows. :/

but yeah if it isn't bw sorin they may as well just burn it all (unless there's some awesome stuff).
 
It'll be interesting to see what comes from it... hopefully vindicate, mortify, and cool stuff... and my BW Humans wouldn't mind another Sorin... especially with that art... oh Tibaly here too... First they make a gamble, then they put the rather unsuccessful gamble in a Duel Deck? Interesting... hopefully the list'll look like IvG.
