Magic: The Gathering

I'm guessing someone at Magic's R&D department got really sick of seeing Delver decks.

Edit: I was planning on running Fight Club but like I said last night, Green is losing so much good stuff that it just seems silly to run a mono deck at this point. I'll go with your advice, Zystral, and wait out the rotation. Maybe something in the box I'm getting will inspire me.

Is cool is that is, (and its really good,) step aside for this monster. Its Thrun's little cousin.

The King

Whoa...Talk about efficient...If we were keeping spoiler points per guild, Golgari probably earned over 100 for this beast.

First off, Dryad Militant and the Troll are awesome... both will see play (Militant as far back as Legacy).

Second, I'll be the guy who sets off the bomb... any ideas for the new standard... I got a Grixis list that I am proud of (still barking at the Bolas tree).

Well, looks like I get the honor of spoiling the 2nd walker...
yn1n1r28cd_en.jpg

Any thoughts. I think she might be okay. She can scare stuff and blow stuff up easily, and has a unique ultimate.

i think she will 8e gr8, she protects herself well and has a 8uilt-in vindic8 to deal with fatties. i'm definitely going golgari now. ::::)

After looking at all the spoiled cards so far, Unleash continues to be disappointing. It REALLY wishes it had a built in haste with it's effect.

EDIT: Welp, from the spoiled cards so far, it looks like G/W/B will rule Ravnica limited yet again.

That planeswalker is very very impressive. I want good blue cards though t-t\
judges familiar is good. gimme some non charm counter spells.

One of those few planeswalkers where every single ability is good.

+1 protects itself.
-3 destroys anything that isn't a Land or indestructible.
-7 can end the game immediately.

Just a question, but besides from just being totally and utterly ahead of your opponent and their creatures, how helpful would her ultimate be? I can't think of many cards that would help get them through to do damage that don't dip into blue (unblockable) or red (haste). Well, besides removal, of course.

her ultimate isn't why she's good. she start at 6 loyalty for five mana, protects herself, and can vindicate the board

the tokens basically have lure, so you'll get your bigger dudes through. it's not the most game-ending ultimate, but is definitely interesting.

I was going Izzet, but Golgari is a strong possibility now... I'll check at the end to see what's better overall and make a last minute decision for the Pre-Release. Rakdos is awesome from a flavor perspective... too bad they're getting a bunch of crap.

EDIT: @ TEA DEMON: You bring up a great point about the ult... I'll be trying Grixis, Jund, and Frites as soon as the set comes out on Cockatrice for standard... she'll be good.

I intend to go BGRW Unburial Rites. Grisly Salvage looks very very appealing. I'm also considering a variant of Golgari aggro using Ghoultree and that one Lizard whose power and toughness are equal to the number of creatures in grave. Fueld by Grisly Salvage of course.

Seriously Grisly Salvage looks really good.

grisly salvage does indeed look excellent and i can't help but think that a salvage mulch engine will be able to do things in standard, whether it's just playing ghoultree for g or slamming down massive splinterfrights.

I don't think Vraska is as good as she first appears.

Her ultimate is eye-catching because it says "lose the game" in it but you still have to get those dudes swinging and unblocked. It's not like Tamiyo or Venser where you pop the ult and there's very little an opponent can do at that point to prevent you from winning the game off the emblem. Your tokens will just get blocked out or board wiped most of the time. (Sure they have "lure" but they're just vanilla 1/1.) She protects herself with her plus-one but for what? Her ult isn't worth pursuing anyway, so she's basically a pre-charged Lux Cannon that the opponent can utilize creatures as removal against. And she can't even blow up lands with it. :[

Wrath of God with U and 1 more as a cost, can't even be countered.

No comment because seriously.

RtR is too good.

BUT WHERE IS MY BoP REPRINT, WIZARDS?!

Abrupt Decay and Supreme Verdict of feaking awesome! Decay will see play in pretty much everything and Verdict will see standard play. I hope Slaughter Games will be good, because I love the art.

Ugghhh everything is uncounterable...

Are you mentally retarded? Legitimate question, I've always wondered if people who blatantly ignore history like you have problems or just have wild imaginations.

In case you aren't aware, there was an almost 2-year span where blue was actually unplayable in standard as recent as 2009-2010. After Cryptic Command rotated out to the point where Jace the Mind Sculptor was printed, there was literally zero incentive to play blue and instead everyone just spun the cascade wheel and bashed their bloodbraid elves, sprouting thrinax, and other random shitty jund-colored creatures against each other. I bet feeble-minded mouthbreathers like yourself would have loved that metagame.
well there was blue in mythic conscription, so it wasn't technically unplayable. :p
