[SET COMMENTS]
Magmar is a great wallbreaker in the NFE metagame thanks to a high Special Attack stat and Speed tier along with useful coverage providing an amazing offensive pressure. Overheat is Magmar's strongest STAB attack and one the metagame has trouble switching into as it can 2HKO common Pokemon like Hattrem, Gurdurr, Machoke, and Golbat even after the stat drop. Overheat also secures OHKOs that Flamethrower fails to pick on such as non Eviolite Electabuzz and Choice Band Fraxure after Stealth Rock. Another option instead of Flamethrower is Fire Blast as it is just as spammable with better OHKO chances against threats like Klang, Morgrem, Metang, and Krokorok without having the burden of a nerfed special attack however, it has a smaller amount of PP and is less accurate. Psychic is predominantly used for Water-types like Mareanie, and Marshtomp as well as providing reliable damage against Fighting- and Poison-types like Gurdurr, Machoke, and Golbat without inducing a Special Attack drop. Lampent is one of Magmar's predominant switch-in as it can take in Psychic and is immune to Fire-type attacks making Scorching Sands the coverage of choice for it while having the added chance on inflicting status in burn to other common switch-ins like Marshtomp. Toxic can also be an option for these threats upon switch-in but locking yourself into it comes with a risk as it can easily be played around. Flame Body has the chance to burn Pokemon which rely on their physical attacks such as Thwackey and Pikachu, although Magmar may be KOed in the process.

As a Fire-type Magmar is greatly limited by the presence of entry hazards especially Stealth Rock, rendering anti hazards options like Hattrem, Golbat, and Wartortle a priority when building around it. Magmar also has a lot of trouble breaking through specially defensive walls namely Marshtomp, Clefairy, and Galarian Corsola, therefore having counterplay for these is mandatory. Knock Off users like Gurdurr, Ferroseed, and Galarian Linoone make good partners as they can remove their Eviolite and chip them down if not KOing them. Entry hazards setters like Koffing, Piloswine, Ferroseed, and Gabite make good partners as they provide pressure into Magmar's switch-ins as well as a reliable chip for its walls. Charjabug can also be an option as a Sticky Web setter making the likes of Kadabra and Galarian Mr. Mime slower, Charjabug is also a slow pivot letting Magmar in safely. Late game cleaners like Pikachu, Electabuzz, and Thwackey greatly appreciate Magamar's wallbreaking abilities in pressuring Steel- and Grass-types like Ferroseed and Tangela. These Pokemon can also deal with Water-types which Magmar can sometimes struggle against, on top of being pivots through Volt Switch and U-turn allowing Magmar to safely switch in.

[SET COMMENTS]
Stallbreaker Magmar's biggest selling point is its ability to use Taunt against common walls like Golbat, Galarian Corsola, and Clefairy making them unable to recover their lost health. Lava Plume functions as the main STAB attack with good damage output and a chance of causing burn however, Fire Blast is also a viable option for stronger output against the general metagame. Psychic enables Magmar to hit Poison- and Fighting-types strongly like Mareanie, Gurdurr, and Combusken. When using Lava Plume, Scorching Sands can be used to accentuate Magmar's status spreading by targeting Fire-resistant Pokemon like Marshtomp and Gabite. It also allows Magmar to hit Lampent who otherwise walls it, as well as securing high rolls on Electric-types like Electabuzz and Pikachu. Toxic can be an option instead as it better helps to break down walls including the aforementioned Ground-types, Vullaby, and Galarian Corsola. Heavy-Duty Boots or Eviolite are both fine options depending on how one wishes to use Magmar, where one provides immunity to entry hazards and the other helps it better tank in hits like avoiding 2HKO from Galarian Mr. Mime.

As a stallbreaker Magmar can easily get through bulkier teams and prevent them from recovering their lost health making other wallbreakers and cleaners like Pikachu, Thwackey, Galarian Mr. Mime, and Kadabra fulfill their roles much more easily. Some of these can also pivot through Volt Switch, or U-turn adding to the momentum that Magmar provides. Knock Off users like Gurdurr, Clefairy, and Ferroseed are also great partners as they can use Magmar's momentum to pressure threats in and removing their Eviolite. Gurdurr can also serve as a hazard removal making it a great partner to Eviolite Magmar, while Clefairy can further support the team as a Wish passer or hazard setter similar to Ferroseed.

Magmar can also be utilized carrying Flame Charge or a Choice Scarf allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame as well as other Choice Scarf users like Lampent and Gastly. With a good Attack stat, Magmar can also be used physically with Belly Drum, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, and Mach Punch however that set is very hard to use without a considerable amount of support as even after a boost Magmar has a hard time OHKO'ing faster attackers like Electabuzz and keeping itself from being revenge killed by the likes of Thwackey and Pikachu. Vital Spirit can also be considered as it allows Magmar to ignore Sleep Powder from Tangela and Roselia upon switch in.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Specially defensive walls like Clefairy, Vullaby, Galarian Corsola, and Slowpoke can usually take one or two hits from Magmar and block its momentum through recovering their health after an Overheat or hitting it back harder. Slowpoke in particular can handle any incoming hits from Magmar but just like the aforementioned walls, it has to be mindful of Taunt and Toxic on top of keeping its Eviolite.

**Ground Types**: Gabite, and Marshtomp can switch in and OHKO Magmar with their STAB attacks. Offensive Ground-types like Choice Scarf Krokorok also outspeeds it but cannot switch in.

**Revenge Killers**: Pikachu, Galarian Mr.Mime, Galarian Linoone, and Kadabra can either outspeed or use priority against Magmar when in range. Pikachu however greatly fears getting burned from Flame Body.

**Entry Hazards**: Entry Hazards prevent Magmar from fulfilling its role a great deal as it cannot recover its health making it very limited in a game as to when it can switch in.

Toxic can also be an option for these threats but locking yourself into it comes with a risk. (Toxic is really only being used for expected switch-ins that check you and require you to switch anyways so it isn't that big of a problem to lock yourself into. If you still think it is, elaborate rather than just saying it comes with a risk (i.e forces you to switch out the following turn)) Flame Body has the chance to burn Pokemon which rely on their physical attacks pressures physical pivots especially ones with priority such as Thwackey and Pikachu, although Magmar may be KOed in the process. (I wouldn't really say it pressures physical attackers since it won't really stop them from trying to revenge kill Magmar, and you don't really want Magmar to be taking hits anyways. If anything it's typing and Speed are the things that pressure those Pokemon in the first place. If you have a better alternative/want to readd the priority move thing, then feel free to rephrase.) 252 Speed with a Timid nature enables Magmar to outspeed a good portion of the metagame counting Thwackey, Golbat, and Choice Specs Gastly. (Fluff; you don't have to explain obvious EV spreads)

Magmar is a great wallbreaker in the NFE metagame thanks to a high Special Attack stat and Speed tier along with useful coverage providing an amazing offensive pressure. Overheat is Magmar's strongest STAB attack and one the metagame has trouble switching into as it can 2HKO common Pokemon like Hattrem, Gurdurr, Machoke, and Golbat is this factoring in the spatk drop on the second hit? clarify please while securing OHKOs that Flamethrower fails to pick on such as non Eviolite Electabuzz and Choice Band Fraxure after Stealth Rock. Another option instead of Flamethrower is Fire Blast with better OHKO chances against threats like Klang, Morgrem, Metang, and Krokorok, but it is less accurate The benefits you've listed for Fire Blast are also true of Overheat. I think it's important to note somewhere that it's as spammable as Flamethrower is. Psychic is predominantly used for Water-types like Mareanie, and Marshtomp as well as providing reliable damage against Fighting- and Poison-types like Gurdurr, Machoke, and Golbat without inducing a Special Attack drop. Lampent is one of Magmar's predominant counter switch-ins or checks, it's not a counter (otherwise scorching sands wouldn't be doing its job) as it can take in Psychic and is immune to Fire-type attacks making Scorching Sands the coverage of choice for it while also acting as a spammable move for decent damage and a chance to burn Water-types like Marshtomp I don't think Scorching Sands is particularly spammable, in fact in my experience it's easily the least clicked move here. I think focusing entirely on hitting Lampent/Eviolite Magmar is fine. Toxic can also be an option for these threats upon switch-in but locking yourself into it comes with a risk Specify the mons here if you take it out of the Scorching Sands section.

Re-read this, there's some grammatical problems that need to be fixed. Small detail but I'd prefer Gurdurr or Vullaby rather than Tangela here because Tangela is rarely landing knock off on any of the pokemon you listed (it forces all 3 of the mons out). Entry hazards setters like Koffing, Piloswine, and Gabite (Mention a Spiker Ferroseed or Roselia in this list) You left Jett's comment in here make good partners as they provide pressure into Magmar's switch-ins as well as a reliable chip for its walls. Charjabug can also be an option as a Sticky Web setter making the likes of Kadabra and Galarian Mr. Mime slower, Charjabug is also as a (?) slow pivot by letting in Magmar safely in. Late game cleaners like Pikachu, Electabuzz, and Thwackey greatly appreciate Magamar's wallbreaking abilities in breaking down Steel- and Grass-types like Ferroseed and Tangela Magmar does not break down Steel- and Grass-types, it offensively pressures them. Important distinction. Pokemon it wears down include Marshtomp, Gabite, and Mareanie. These Pokemon can also deal with Water-types which Magmar can sometimes struggle against, on top of being pivots through Volt Switch and U-turn allowing Magmar to safely switch in.

Stallbreaker Magmar's biggest selling point is its ability to use Taunt against common walls like Golbat, Galarian Corsola, and Clefairy rendering them unable to recover their health. I don't think "rendering" is an applicable term here. When using Lava Plume, Scorching Sands can be used to accentuate Magmar's status spreading by targeting Fire-resistant Pokemon like Marshtomp and Gabite. Toxic can be an option instead as it better helps to break down walls including the aforementioned Ground-types, Vullaby, Galarian Corsola, and more list them or not but either way remove this. Heavy-Duty Boots or Eviolite are both fine options depending on how one wishes to use Magmar, where one provides immunity to entry hazards and the other helps it better tank in hits. what hits does it allow it to tank? from what pokemon?

I think it's worth adding a note on Vital Spirit too, allowing Magmar to absorb Sleep Powder from Tangela and Roselia, although this move option is a niche option on both of these, meaning Flame Body is generally a far better option

**Specially Defensive Walls**: Specially defensive walls like Clefairy, Vullaby, Galarian Corsola, and Wartortle can usually take one or two hits from Magmar and block its momentum through recovering their health after an Overheat or hitting it back harder. However none of these can reliably switch into it with their Eviolite removed, they also fear Taunt from Stallbreaker Magmar. Specifically point out Slowpoke here; the mon takes any hit Magmar has

**Ground Types**: Piloswine, Gabite, and Marshtomp can switch into Magmar and OHKO it with their STAB attacks. Offensive Ground-types like Choice Scarf Krokorok also outspeeds it but cannot switch in. Piloswine should be removed here; it's 2HKOd by Specs variants. +1 252 SpA Magmar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Eviolite Thick Fat Piloswine: 228-270 (56.4 - 66.8%).

**Revenge Killers**: Pikachu, Thwackey, Galarian Mr.Mime, Galarian Linoone, and Kadabra can either outspeed or use priority against Magmar when in range. Should remove Thwackey here and also note that Pikachu should be wary of Flame Body.

**Entry Hazards**: Entry Hazards prevent Magmar from fulfilling its role a great deal as it cannot recover its health making it very limited in a game as to when it can switch in.
