LC Magnemite

Magnemite @ Salac Berry
Ability: Magnet Pull
Level: 5
EVs: 156 HP / 36 Def / 76 SpD / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Charge Beam
- Flash Cannon
- Substitute
- Rest

This Magnemite set takes advantage of the very passive and fairly common Steel-type Ferroseed, using Ferroseed's inability to do much damage to it to boost its Special Attack with Charge Beam and Speed with Salac Berry. Substitute allows Magnemite to safely activate Salac Berry, and Rest lets it PP stall Ferroseed while giving it more opportunities to boost its Special Attack. Once boosted, Magnemite sweeps through teams with its unresisted STAB move combination, as at +1 with max Speed, it outspeeds all unboosted Pokemon in the tier, as well as outspeeding or tying the current best Choice Scarf users: Porygon and Mudbray. Magnemite appreciates support from teammates that can lure in Ferroseed and allow it to begin its sweep, like Porygon and Staryu, which are all checked or walled by Ferroseed and invite it in. Memento Diglett can give Magnemite a safe switch in, allowing it to more easily set up and even keep a Substitute for the rest of its sweep.

This Magnemite set takes advantage of the very passive and fairly common Steel-type Ferroseed, using Ferroseed's inability to do much damage to boost its Special Attack with Charge Beam and its Speed with its Salac Berry. Magnemite first sets up Substitutes until it activates its Salac Berry. It then uses Rest, in combination with Charge Beam, to set up Special Attack boosts (Ferroseed cannot kill Magnemite from full in three turns). Substitute allows Magnemite to safely activate Salac Berry, and Rest lets it PP stall Ferroseed while also giving it more opportunities to boost its Special Attack.(Less wordy way of explaining the info) Once boosted, Magnemite sweeps through teams, with an unresisted STAB combination.(I would mention somewhere about it outspeeding the metagame in this sentence, especially with the lack of faster Choice Scarf users) This set was first used to success in SCL semifinals (KSG v DVS), with KSG using it in tandem with Porygon and Diglett to ensure that Ferroseed is lured in and trapped. Magnemite appreciates support from teammates that can lure in Ferroseed and allow it to begin its sweep; the aforementioned Porygon, Staryu and Foongus are all checked or walled by Ferroseed, and invite it in handily. Staryu and Porygon also get pivoting moves that allow Magnemite to be brought in safely without risking a double switch predict, which can be problematic if Magnemite gets hit by a stray hit.(Remove Foongus and mention Diglett; Memento Diglett is one of the most synergistic partner you can bring with SalacMag. I would probably also remove the pivot part or at least reword it to not make it sound like every Staryu and Porygon is gonna be carrying a pivot move.) Although this Magnemite set is nigh useless against teams without a Ferroseed, as the other relevant Steel-Type, Pawniard, prevents Magnemite from setting up through powerful STAB Knock Offs, when the opponent brings a Ferroseed, Magnemite shines.(This seems overly negative)
