Ground
========

Mamoswine is a staple wallbreaker on Ground teams thanks to its high Attack, STAB Ice-type coverage, and rare, strong priority in Ice Shard. Its powerful Ice-type moves threaten the vast majority of Flying-, Ground-, and Dragon-types such as Thundurus, Hippowdon, and Latios. Thanks to Thick Fat, Mamoswine can also offensively check Ice-type attackers like Cloyster. However, Mamoswine's very poor defensive typing, mediocre Speed tier, and average bulk leave it vulnerable to many revenge killers like Keldeo and Choice Scarf Magnezone.

move 4: Knock Off

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Band Icicle Crash can OHKO bulky Garchomp, 2HKO Hippowdon, and 3HKO Skarmory while fishing for flinches. Earthquake can 2HKO Slowbro after prior chip damage. STAB Ice Shard can revenge kill weakened threats and is powerful enough to OHKO Latios after Stealth Rock and break Mega Sharpedo's Substitute. Knock Off targets Psychic-types, cripples Eviolite users such as Porygon2, and deals more damage to Pokemon that switch into its STAB moves like Rotom-W. Thick Fat allows Mamoswine to deal with Ice-type attackers such as Cloyster and tank STAB moves from some Fire-type Pokemon like V-create from Victini and Fire Blast from offensive Volcarona. Mamoswine utilizes Choice Band to maximize its potential as a wallbreaker and revenge killer, becoming powerful enough to 2HKO physically defensive Swampert with Earthquake and OHKO Hawlucha with Ice Shard after Stealth Rock. Fully investing in Attack and Speed with an Adamant nature allows Mamoswine to deal as much damage as possible while outpacing Adamant Diggersby, physically defensive Staraptor, and specially defensive Jirachi.

Mamoswine threatens Dragon-, Ground-, and Flying-types like Garchomp, Landorus, and Hawlucha and is one of the very few Ground-type Pokemon capable of dealing with Gliscor. Mamoswine can assist Landorus and Mega Garchomp by offensively checking Ice-types like Cloyster. It may help Excadrill by taking out weakened threats with Ice Shard and using Knock Off to cripple Eviolite users like Porygon2 and Chansey. Hippowdon can passively damage foes by setting sand and Stealth Rock and works as a switch-in to the likes of Mega Lopunny and Terrakion. Excadrill in sand can check faster threats like Keldeo and Kyurem-B for Mamoswine and provides a switch-in to Grass Knot from Thundurus and Heliolisk. Mega Garchomp is a Fire-resistant teammate that can check Mega Charizard Y and utilizes its mixed set to wear down walls like Rotom-W. Landorus uses its powerful special attacks to chip physical defensive walls like Skarmory and may set Gravity so that Rotom-W can no longer switch into Mamoswine. Gastrodon is immune to Water, which proves immensely useful against Pokemon like Rotom-W and Kingdra. It can also tank special attacks with its average bulk, reliable recovery, and great defensive typing while spreading status with Scald and Toxic. Seismitoad is an alternative Water-immune teammate that can check Belly Drum Azumarill.

Mamoswine may opt to use Superpower over Knock Off to 2HKO Porygon2, OHKO other Mamoswine, and deal more damage to Rotom-W and Ferrothorn. Knock Off is preferred for coverage against Psychic-types and permanently crippling Eviolite users like Porygon2.

Checks and Counters

Ground
--------
**Rotom-W**: Rotom-W switches into any of Mamoswine's moves as long as Gravity isn't up and OHKOes with Hydro Pump. However, Rotom-W's longevity will suffer from having its Leftovers removed by Knock Off.

**Water-types**: Faster Water-type Pokemon like Keldeo and Mega Gyarados OHKO Mamoswine with their STAB moves. Bulky Water-types such as Slowbro and Swampert can tank a hit from Mamoswine and fish for Scald burns.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-type Pokemon like Mega Gallade, Heracross, and Terrakion can outpace and OHKO Mamoswine with Close Combat.

**Grass-types**: Jolly Breloom outspeeds and OHKOes Mamoswine with Bullet Seed, assuming it gets three or more hits. Offensive Celebi can outpace and OHKO Mamoswine with Giga Drain after Stealth Rock. Mega Venusaur can tank attacks from Mamoswine and threaten it with Giga Drain.

**Steel-types**: Choice Band Excadrill and Choice Scarf Magnezone can outspeed and OHKO Mamoswine with their STAB moves. Choice Scarf Excadrill and offensive Mega Scizor can OHKO Mamoswine after prior chip damage. Skarmory avoids a 2HKO from Icicle Crash and 2HKOes Mamoswine with Iron Head or badly poisons it with Toxic, assuming it doesn't flinch in the process.

**Fire-types**: Stronger Fire-type Pokemon like Mega Charizard Y and Choice Band Victini can outpace and OHKO Mamoswine with their STAB moves.

**Status**: Will-O-Wisp users such as Sableye and stallbreaker Mew can limit Mamoswine's ability to function as a wallbreaker. Toxic will put Mamoswine on a timer and may allow certain physically defensive walls like Porygon2 and Skarmory to outlast it.

[overview]
- weavile can smite mamoswine with knock off still. i think cloyster would be the best example for the way this is phrased

[set comments]
- would like to see latios as a target for ice shard as it takes minimal chip to ohko it with that move.
- you don't need 2 spaces in between set details and teammates, 1 suffices

[checks and counters]
- mention rotom-w hates having its lefties removed
- adamant lo technician breloom gets koed 7/8 times by cb ada ice shard

Great Job, QC 1/2

Icicle Crash is the strongest Ice-type attack Mamoswine learns. It can OHKO bulky Garchomp, 2HKO Hippowdon, and 3HKO Skarmory while fishing for flinches. Mamoswine uses Earthquake as its Ground STAB move, which can 2HKO Slowbro after prior chip damage. Knock Off targets Psychic-types, cripples Eviolite users such as Porygon2, and deals more damage to Pokemon that resist or are immune to switch into its STAB moves like Rotom-W. Thick Fat allows Mamoswine to deal with Ice-type attackers such as Cloyster and tank STAB moves from some Fire-type Pokemon despite its Ice typing like V-create from Victini and Fire Blast from offensive Volcarona. The calcs I listed in the first paragraph of set comments factored in Choice Band. Should I alter the phrasing in those three sentences or the comment I made regarding Choice Band later on in the paragraph?

EDIT: We talked on discord. This is done now maroon
