Mamoswine Likes Steak [OU RMT]

Introduction
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I was looking through some of my teams and decided I hadn't built a decent one in a while so it was back to the drawing board to plan a new team. I tried using some OU Pokemon which I hadn't given much notice before. Hopefully this'll turn out okay.

Team In-Depth
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Lead
473.png

Mamoswine@ Focus Sash
Nature : Jolly
EV : 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Earthquake
-Ice Shard
-Stealth Rock
-Endeavor

Standard Mamo lead, usually gets the rocks up and can take down most other leads. He can also function as my Dragon-killer if he isn't killed early-game.

Special Sweeper
380Latias.png

Latias@ Choice Specs
Nature : Timid
EV : 4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
-Draco Meteor
-Thunderbolt
-Trick
-Dragon Pulse

SpecsLatias packs a powerful punch, I mainly use her to leave dents early in the game with Draco Meteor and bring her in later to clean-up if she's still alive.

Special Sweeper
385.png

Jirachi@ Leftovers
Nature : Timid
EV : 252 HP / 80 SpA / 176 Spe
-Calm Mind
-Substitute
-Psychic
-Thunderbolt

SubCM Jirachi, basically I bring this in late-game and set-up a Sub and attempt to clean-up.

Physical Sweeper
248Tyranitar.png

Tyranitar@ Choice Band
Nature : Careful
EV : 252 HP / 40 Atk / 212 SpD
-Pursuit
-Stone Edge
-Crunch
-Aqua Tail

CBTar has always been a favourite of mine, he fits reasonably well into this team. I'm running a Specially Defensive version though as I really need something to trap/kill special attackers like Latias without taking a massive blow.

Support / Physical Wall

Celebi@ Leftovers
Nature : Bold
EV : 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spe
-Thunder Wave
-Recover
-Reflect
-Grass Knot

Celebi provides paralysis support which greatly benefits Ttar and Reflect support which helps Jira chi set-up as well as making it easier for the team. She's just here for something that can take some hits and aid the team.

Revenge-Killer
330.png

Flygon@ Choice Scarf
Nature : Adamant
EV : 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Fire Punch
-U-Turn

Flygon serves as my revenge-killer, he picks off those Pokemon that are weakened or threatening.

Conclusion

So there's my team, it's probably not that good so please help me out by pointing out any weaks or changes you think would help. Thanks

Hi, welcome to Smogon!

I know that I would like a bit more information, as it is hard to provide a good rate with such little to work with. I dont know how your pokemon function in battle, and what their strengths and weaknesses are; I just know their moveset and EVs. Moving past me ranting, I'll still rate your team for you :)

With three choice users on your team, you are going to be switching around quite a bit. I would suggest using a good rapid spinner on your team, such as Starmie or Foretress. Or, I would just switch Latias's set altogether. Here is a set that utilizes Latias's impressive defences, and its ability to set up dual screens:

Latias @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Hp / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid nature (+Speed, -Attack)
~ Reflect
~ Light Screen
~ Wish
~ Roar / Dragon Pulse / Safeguard

Latias is perfect for pseudo-passing, with access to both screens and Wish. The fact that most players will expect a sweeper set and switch out is also helpful. The strategy here is to set up Reflect and Light Screen on a foe that is likely to attack, and then switch out to pass those defensive boosts to either a stat-up sweeper or a Baton Passer. Wish will ensure that whatever comes in next will start out with full health, and Roar will both prevent your opponent from setting up while you set the screens, and allow you to search for a better Pokemon to send your sweeper or Baton Passer out against.

Dragon Pulse (or even Draco Meteor) is an option over Roar if you want Latias to be able to attack directly, or if you fear being Taunted (I recommend Roar, though). However, this set’s primary goal involves being a team player, and staying in to attack is often a waste of the eight turns of screens. Still, you should not be afraid to let Latias receive its own Wish, as this will allow it to possibly set up screens again later in the match for a second sweeper or another Baton Pass. Safeguard can also be used to protect your sweeper as it switches it and sets up; however, it is often redundant to pass this to a Baton Passer since it will likely know Taunt and / or Substitute anyway.

This Latias is good support for its teammates. Any sort of frail setup sweeper (Lucario, Infernape, and to an extent things like Gyarados and your Tyranitar) loves screens, allowing it to set up its Substitutes and/or stat-up moves relatively invincible until it is ready to rampage. They also can come in again and again with Wish support. Baton Pass teams, especially ones utilizing strategies such as Screens passed to Gliscor, which Rock Polishes, Taunts phazers, Swords Dances, then passes to Metagross or another Pokémon, also might consider Latias to fulfil the role of dual screener, as it is fast, sturdy, and reliable.

This Latias does not fear Tyranitar and Scizor much at all with Reflect up, and can Roar them out before they cause it troubles. In fact, it is in essence purely a team player and does not require support at all. Thus, slot it in on frailer teams which need a fast screener.

With a bulky Screener in place, drop Reflect on Celebi for a better option, such as Heal Bell. None of the members on your team seem to enjoy status, particularly your Tyranitar getting burned, and Heal Bell could, well, heal those in a flash.

Good luck! :)

This is going to be a quick rate~

Adamant is usually a better option over Jolly since there is nothing outside of Adamant Gyarados, Metagross (max Speed), and Adamant Lucario. You cannot KO Gyarados because of Intimidate, you cannot KO Metagross unless you are Adamant or you choose to hold LO (but, you only have a 50% chance of OHKOing), and Lucario usually holds a Sash to Counter it though.

Surf over Thunderbolt on Latias would be helpful to hit Tyranitar on the switch, and its neutrality is cool.

Earthquake is better over Aqua Tail when using Special Defensive Tyranitar because it fails to 2HKO Hippowdon and Gliscor, so Earthquake is superior option.

Try using Dragon Claw over Outrage on Flygon, Outrage is inferior to non-locking moves when revenge killing. Dragon Claw has enough power to OHKO Salamence if you have SR up. Also, Jolly over Adamant if you want to outrun Adamant/Naughty Salamence (or speed tie with Jolly/Naive ones).

Not really spotting weaknesses, just fixing the movesets. :3

So...are you also saying that he should change one of his Pokemon to a stat-upper/Baton Passer? If so, I missed that part =P

I would not change Latias to a screener because your current team wouldn't make use of it (since you have nothing from the above strategy dex quote that benefits from screens besides Jirachi, which can set up w/o help). But the rest of Snorlaxxz's rate was right, you have too many choice users/need a rapid spinner. I would change Latias to a Tank, not to the set Snorlaxxz recommended, as it is almost completely useless with your team. My modifications will be in bold:

Latias @ Leftovers / Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 48 Hp / 208 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid nature (+Speed, -Attack)
~ Dragon Pulse
~ Surf
~ Wish / Substitute / Psycho Shift
~ Calm Mind

Looking at your team, a Weavile (luckily uncommon these days) could probably leave some major damage, hitting 5/6 Pokemon for SE damage with Pursuit/Ice Shard/Brick Break. Giving Latias a Colbur Berry (which halves damage from SE Dark-type attacks) and the given EVs, you'll be surviving a Pursuit (even on the switch) or possibly a Night Slash as well (didn't run damage calc for NS) from a standard Jolly CBVile. Then you will always OHKO back with Dragon Pulse after one Calm Mind provided it switched into Stealth Rock. Giving Latias Leftovers and either Sub or Psycho Shift will make it a tough tank to take down, and can really cause some problems for other teams. (I've lost several games to SubCM Latias)

In other news, I second Adamant on Mamo, as it is needed when holding a Focus Sash. Also, if you change your Latias to a SubCM version, I would suggest changing Jirachi to a ParaFlincher, as those things can be a pain to get rid of, plus it will give Latias a better chance to switch in, as your opponent will be switching around themselves trying to avoid Paralysis. And to top it all off, Celebi does not need Reflect for the same reason mentioned above. You've got a bulky enough team, you've no frail stat-uppers, etc. Heal Bell or Leech Seed would be good canditates to fill its place. Remember though to test out suggestions before you change things, especially because we are working off of very little info and may not be able to tell whether what we're changing actually has a bigger purpose.

Run this set with Leftovers and Tbolt >> Surf, you need a backup plan if Gyarados gets a DD off and that set isn't OHKO'd by Stone Edge. I'd also recommend Recover over Psycho Shift or Wish.
