Hey there guys, this is my second RMT, and i made sure i spaced it out from the other one. In this RMT, i will be using a non cliched team. I am not using genesect, not using weather, no entry hazards, and not all of the pokemon are OU. However, if you have any suggestions that would contradict the things above, still feel free to give it. I don't mind ruining my hipsterism if it makes my team better. Actually, i have to admit that i did not play with this team much. I only played 6 matches, and got a score of 6-0, so i got kind of excited and wanted to post this, sorry. Anyway, enjoy my thread.

dusclops.png

Dusclops (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Pain Split
- Seismic Toss
- Curse
- Will-O-Wisp

This bloody fortress here is my tank. With 130 defences and an eviolite boost, nothing unboosted can OKHO this pokemon, not even a Specs Chandelure using Shadow ball, which is STAB and super effective, which does 71.83 - 85.21%.
Dusclops here is also a wall breaking wall as all of its moves deal damage by either percentage or decided numbers. Also, my EV spread is just derped. Please suggest something for it.
Pain Split here is a semi-reliable way of healing as Dusclops has a low 40 base HP, even though i added 252 EVs into it. This move brings walls down to 284 HP, which is easy to deal especially walls with high HP but low defences like Blissey.
Seismic Toss is pretty much my only high damage move. This move deals exactly 100 damage, which is used mainly to bring down weakened pokemons.
Curse forces everything to switch out, as it drains a huge 25% off every turn, in exchange for my 50% health, which can be recovered back easily with pain split when the opponent switches out.
Will O' Wisp is just to status anything that can be statused. This gives me a passive damage on walls, and cripples physical attackers.

terrakion.png

Terrakion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

I noticed that the common tyranitar and the not so common darmanitan when banded, does quite a chunk to my Dusclops, so i decided to add Terrakion, which STABs are super effective agaist both of them, and promptly outspeeds and OHKOs them.
Close Combat is a very powerful move that almost 2HKOs everything even when unboosted.
Stone Edge is for coverage, against those that are immune or resist Close Combat, such as flying and ghost types.
Substitude allows me a free boost and gives me more survivability as it allows me to take and extra hit.
Swords Dance is for boosting, and a +2 Close Combat almost OHKOs everything, so once i get this set up, i can almost sweep.

2818512.png

Zoroark (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Illusion
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Focus Blast
- Trick

Zoroark is a very gimmicky pokemon, and hardly anyone uses it even though it has boosting moves for all the offensive stats, high offensive stats, and a decent move pool.
Dark Pulse over Night Daze for the possible flinch and accuracy, and i dont want my opponent screaming "you lowered my accuracy. Its not fair!"
Flamethrower is for coverage period.
Focus Blast is for more coverage period.
Trick allows me to trick walls or physical attackers, making them cry.

479-wash.png

Rotom (Rotom-W) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 184 HP / 4 Def / 144 SAtk / 176 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

This is a bulky attacker Rotom-W, since i decided a tank Rotom-w would be next to useless in my team. This guy is to cover up some of my general weaknessess in the previous few pokemons.
Volt Switch is to keep the momentum going, and its also STAB, and its pretty useful for water types too.
Hydro Pump since Politoeds are as common as rabbits, and with the rain boost and STAB, it will rape quite a lot of things out there since only a few types resist water.
Will O Wisp is to burn things and residual damage and a crippling physical attackers why not.

381.png

Latios (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Trick
- Surf
- Psyshock

Paired up with Zoroark to make the Specially offensive core, Latios and Zoroark covers different types with different moves. It is similar to my Thundurus-T and Latios in my Man in Blue RMT if you remembered/saw.
Draco Meteor Rapes everthing out there with a high base power, STAB, specs, and only 1 type resisting it.
Trick is for the same reason as zoroark minus the magnezone fooling part.
Surf is a very good coverage move and it also bites politoeds in their backs.
Psyshock is STAB and for specially defensive pokemons.

467.png

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 HP / 84 SAtk / 172 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Light Screen

First thing you might think is "this magnezone is different". Well yes, it is. The EVs are specifically for killing genesect, with just enough SpA to 1 shot genesect, and enough defensive EVs to make its Flamethrower a 3HKO, and if the genesect turns out to be a rock polish genesect, its gg for it.
HP Fire is for of course killing steel types
Thunderbolt is my stab and allows my to paralyze the opponent sometimes if i am stalling for some reason
Flash Cannon is also a stab SpD drop may also be useful sometimes.
Light Screen is what i would usually do if my opponent decides to lead with a genesect. If they U-turn out, i get a free Light Screen. If they decide to attack for some reason, they have a Light Screen blocking their path on the next attack.

Yeah i was about to say ive never seen a magnezone so id definatly suspect something was up, and Zorark is dark, so a fighting move would seriously hurt, as well as Zoroark being frail, so a EQ or any offensive move in this harsh metagame, will hurt. So I second Red in putting Latios at the back of the group.
Also id change your magnezone set, to a sub charge beam one, making ferro absolute set up fodder (ferros usage will rise too) giving your new mag more oppotunities to sweep and seriously hurt a lot of dangerous pokes, that could cause harm to your team.

The Sets

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Timid : 180 SpA | 176 Spe | 152 Hp
Substitute | Charge Beam | Flash Cannon | Hidden Power [fire]

These Evs let you ouspeed skarm, so you can sub on the taunt or charge beam on the whirlwind. The Hp investment means that A max attack Ferro cant break your subs with Power Whip. And the rest is just dumped in Special Attack.

The moveset can be altered.

Flash Cannon or Thunderbolt

Hidden Power [fire] or [ice]

Depends on what you hit and want to hit the most!

Good luck with the team

Hey,

Original team you got there. Even though not running Stealth Rocks may seem non cliched, it remains a move every team must have. Slashing it on your team can be fairly easy by changing Terrakion into a Focus Sash lead set. This way you can always get Stealth Rocks up, while Swords Dance still allows a possible sweep if you're able to save Terrakion till later in the game. Next up, I'd advise still running Night Daze > Dark Pulse. Night Daze with specs allows you to outright ohko and outspeed every Deo-D set as the only poke in the ou metagame. Seeing how you lack a spinner, this can be really useful. For the evs on your pokemon, I'd advise everything that hasn't already to put the remaining 4 evs into Sp Def rather than Def. This gives Genesect and Attack boost instead of a Special Attack boost, making it easier to deal with for Magnezone. Giving it a Attack boost doesn't really matter since either Terrakion or Magnezone doesn't mind taking a +1 U-turn. Your team also lacks a choice scarf user. Without it, fast sweepers have an easy time sweeping. The biggest threat out of those looks to be Venusaur. If you put a choice scarf on Latios, you should be able to outrun Adamant +2 Dnite, Standard Venusaur and scarf Salamence, all of which may turn out to be a problem to your team.

I suggest making Dusclops more specially defensive and switching Rotom W for WishMence. You only have Terrakion for physical attacking so far and Salamence has a good defensive typing for your team considering that you have 3 good ice resists.
Wish really complements Dusclops, your choice users and Magnezone. It still allows you to keep momentum like volt switch. Plus a physical-special defensive core is always a nice idea.
You can even use Aqua Tail or Hydro Pump on Mence if you still want that water-type attack.

252 HP/252 Attack/4 Def or Speed
Dragon Claw/Outrage/Dragon Tail
Wish
Aqua Tail
Earthquake

Gives you a wider range attacking options, wish support and a bulky offensive mid-game pivot

Hey!

At first glance, Dusclops is a little concerning. Dusclops is a pretty bad Pokemon, and seeing that you have no hazards, I have to recommend that you replace it. In my opinion, your team would really benefit from having a powerful sweeper that lures Genesect. My suggestion for you would be Dragon Dance Dragonite. There isn't a single better sweeper and mid-game wall breaker than Dragonite. It lures Genesect because people almost exclusively rely on Genesect to beat it. Magnezone comes in, gets the kill, and then Latios, Dragonite, and Terrakion can sweep unimpeded.

My second suggestion is a small one. Why not switch to Salac Berry on Terrakion? Life Orb will kill you off too quickly in my opinion. Salac Berry will give Terrakion much more longevity, and it also has a lot more potential in sweeping. Whereas LO Terrakion might be more powerful in the short term, Salac Berry can defeat entire teams. Even cooler is having Dragonite to partner with Terrakion. Not only does Dragonite lure Genesect, it also lures Scizor for Magnezone! That means your opponent is going to have to sacrifice a key member to beat Dragonite, and that leaves Terrakion (along with the rest of your team) wide open for a sweep.

Good luck!

Sorry. Was a little busy and could not find the time to comment.
I guess I would have night daze over dark pulse.
Magnezone set
Scarfed latios.
Latios at the back of the team.
Salac terrakion.
Rotom-W --> wish mence

I want to keep my dusclops. Yeah.
I don't really expect more comments from this unintentional bump, but you are welcome to.
