Keep Mat Block as is but with additional EN cost.

NOTE: Protean+Rare Candy Slates will be voted on in a different thread as I feel like they are a separate enough issue to have their own thread

Voting: Behavior+P/E Slates first. If Additional EN cost for behavior wins, vote on that next

I just want to hammer the crap out of Mat Block but that is just me. I prefer the in-game effect for Mat Block since it is balanced and means the opponent does not have to sub for it after its first use. And if they have not, then putting it in the Protective Move sub class will save that since most of the time you want to abuse an opponent's protect to chill when you are low on Energy or to use a high powered attack to punish the opponent by draining their energy, which is why I am in favour of an additional EN cost. Also brings it completely in line with moves in the Protective substitution class. These solutions will in my opinion completely put Greninja in line and make it balanced because what pushes Skill Frog over the line in my opinion is a move as poorly designed as Mat Block.

Majority on both. What changed my mind is the fact that in Doubles and above, you don't get additional subs. And those formats are where Mat Block outshines any comparable moves. Thank you for your time, mods may close this thread at discretion before editing Handbook while I go edit NDA. Oops apparently I forgot the formula vote sorry.

What should be the EN formula for Mat Block?
