[SET COMMENTS]
Offensive Mawile acts as a great wallbreaker in PU. Sheer Force gives an extra boost to its moves that makes up for its otherwise mediocre Attack stat. Swords Dance adds to Mawile's breaking power while Stealth Rock is a good option to take advantage of the switches that Mawile can force. Play Rough is Mawile's main attacking move, being its strongest move boosted by Sheer Force and hitting Pokemon like Throh and Appletun extremely hard. Thunder Punch allows Mawile to hit most Pokemon that resist Play Rough for at least neutral damage, notably Mareanie, Klinklang, and Fire-types like Flareon though the latter two threaten Mawile. Iron Head is an alternative hard-hitting STAB option, but doesn't add much to overall coverage other than Roselia. Finally, Sucker Punch allows Mawile to revenge kill faster threats such as Raboot, Alolan Dugtrio, and do a large bit of damage to Galarian Rapidash.
Offensive Mawile fits well on offensive teams that rely on multiple breakers, or more balanced teams that can wear down its checks for it to sweep late game, though this is mostly if you're using Swords Dance. Spikes support from Sandslash or Crustle can help bring Pokemon in range of Mawile's attacks, Sandslash in particular also helps check Pokemon like Klinklang and Alolan Dugtrio that can otherwise threaten Mawile. Fire-type checks like Flareon or Heatmor help to check opposing Fire-types and also help threaten aforementioned Steel-types.

move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Play Rough / Iron Head
move 3: Toxic
move 4: Knock Off / Super Fang
item: Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
ability: Intimidate
nature: Impish
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
Mawile's defensive typing in addition to the ability Intimidate gives a unique set of resistances that allow it to check several Pokemon in the PU tier including Unfezant, Leafeon, and both Silvally-Rock and Ice. Play Rough is the main attacking move chosen as it helps threaten Pokemon like Throh, Appletun, and Morpeko, though Iron Head can be used to threaten Mr. Rime and Galarian Rapidash. Toxic provides some team support and can help wear down common switch ins such as Stunfisk and Sandslash. Knock Off can be used to get rid of some Leftovers and Eviolites so that Pokemon like Stunfisk, Klinklang, Type: Null, and Hattrem are more easily worn down by Mawile and its teammates. Alternatively, Super Fang can be used to immediately do a large chunk of damage to these same kinds of Pokemon, making them much easier to manage. Mawile can either use Leftovers to gain slight passive recovery and increase its longevity, or Rocky Helmet to further punish the physical attackers it can switch into.
Mawile should be paired with Pokemon that appreciate its ability to check physical threats like the Silvally forms and Unfezant. Some of these Pokemon include Appletun, Mr. Rime, or Gourgeist. These Pokemon can also be strong breakers that appreciate Mawile's ability to wear down bulkier Pokemon like Lickilicky and Dusknoir with both Stealth Rock and Toxic. Faster revenge killers like Boltund, Morpeko, and Choice Scarf users like Manectric and Mr. Mime also appreciate Mawile's ability to wear down Pokemon like Stunfisk, Sandslash, Appletun. Mawile likes to be partnered with specially defensive Pokemon like Type: Null or Vespiquen that can take on more specially offensive threats like Calm Mind Galarian Rapidash, Manectric, and Mr. Rime more consistently. Mawile can also be used with other hazard setters like Mareanie, Roselia, or Sandslash to even further wear down these bulky Pokemon.

move 3: Toxic
move 4: Pain Split
item: Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
ability: Intimidate

evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
Mawile's typing allows it to not only be a good physical wall, but also a good special wall with its resistances to Ice, Grass, and Psychic. With Intimidate as well, specially defensive Mawile can act as a sort of mixed wall that is able to check Appletun, Galarian Rapidash, Mr. Rime, Roselia, Unfezant, and Silvally-Ice and Rock. Iron Head is preferred to better hit Galarian Rapidash, Silvally-Ice and Rock, Mr. Rime, and Glaceon though Play Rough can be used to beat Appletun and Fighting-types more reliably. Toxic wears down common switch ins to Mawile like Stunfisk and Sandslash. Pain Split is used in the last slot to increase Mawile's longevity when switching into Pokemon like Appletun and Mr. Rime. Leftovers provides additional recovery but Rocky Helmet can be used to deter most physical attackers from hitting Mawile.
Specially defensive Mawile likes having support from Pokemon like Mareanie and Sandslash, who are usually more physically defensive and can check Pokemon like Throh and Klinklang that Mawile may have more trouble with. These two in particular can also form a hazard stacking core with Mawile and appreciate Mawile's ability to check special attackers like Mr. Rime. Pokemon are threatened by Galarian Rapidash like Morpeko, Hitmonchan, and Falinks really appreciate Mawile's ability to switch into both physical and special sets. Similarly, Mawile handles Grass-types like Appletun, Leafeon, and Roselia quite well, so Pokemon like Drednaw, Golduck, and Alolan Dugtrio that have a hard time with those Pokemon are easily supported by Mawile.
