Hi friends, this is going to be my 2nd rmt. I put this together around a sd mawile set and it seems to be working decently well for me so I thought I'd share it.
Lastly, here's something to back up what I said about stone edge lando being effective for zapdos as people never expect it to be that set.
Now, I shall talk about how the team has been faring for me on the ladder.
Went from 1850-1950 and settled for top 20. Here are some victories.
Can't win them all so here's the wall of shame.
An importable as follows.
To end it off, hi jordy only friend I have on this game that I say anything to, not that I ever have much to say.
Onto the sets...
Mawile-Mega (F) @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
I built around this. Play rough is stab, sucker is priority and knock is good general coverage with benefit of removing items and checking for z. 164 speed is enough to outrun uninvested skarmory, rest I put into hp for some bulkiness.
Landorus-Therian @ Rockium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
Offensive lando with standard max max evs. General idea is to smash holes into first and foremost opposing defensive lando, then 2ndly, into unsuspecting zapdos which more or less always works on ladder coz ppl don't expect or scout for it which benefits mawile a decent bit. Also a good wallbreaker for bulkier teams that use clefable/celesteela/ferrothorn/toxapex type teams and gets rocks up vs stall.
Tapu Koko @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
Scarf koko used to revenge kill stuff and serve as an offensive pivot all in 1. It works well with mawile and lando as they pressure ground types heavily so this mon can use its electric stab more freely. Helps with rain too if that's a thing as it outspeeds common rain sweepers like swampert and kingdra.
Rotom-Wash @ Wiki Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Defog
- Will-O-Wisp
Defogger + 2nd volt turner all in 1. Checks defensive lando and also mega swampert which helps with dealing with rain teams. Not the best defogger but it gets the job done for me.
Blacephalon @ Choice Specs
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Overheat
- Trick
This is great. On paper, it looks like it's bad coz it loses to mainly spd pex, ttar and is super easy to force out in general but spd pex and ttar hasn't been the most common sight on the ladder for me. On teams without those 2 mons, it usually will always get the chance to nuke something every time it comes in. It pairs very well with lando + mawile and koko as they pressure/remove ground types for koko to volt switch freely. Grass types are koko checks and blacephalon gets to come in then.
Tangrowth (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Def / 228 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earthquake
All in 1 blanket check for ash greninja, tapu koko, tapu lele and mega alakazam I included to round team off. Not the best for dealing with tapu lele and alakazam some pivoting will be required and if tapu lele is specs, it is a massive threat that will destroy something everytime it comes in so the solution is to win before tapu lele destroys the entire team.
Mawile-Mega (F) @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
