ORAS OU Mega-Absol Awesomeness! (Top 50 in Ladder)

Intro:
My last RMT was on Mega Gallade, so I decided to go for one of the old Megas but I've tried all the megas in OU, so I went to UU were I landed on Absol. Awsome Stallbreaker because of his Ability and awesome typing. In this team I've given him the right Support to shine against all Archetypes.

I added the glue of my team, M-Absol,

Then, to cover his main weakness to U-Turn Spam, Fighting and Fairies I added Talonflame,

To check Rotom-W, Heatran and Ttar, Talon's biggest counters, Breloom was slapped on,

To cover all of Breloom's weaknesses and deal with Talon, I added Heatran,

Absol-Mega @ Absolite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

THANK YOU ORAS AND GAMEFREAK PLAY ROUGH AND KNOCK OFF TOGETHER IS NOT ILLEGAL ! Anyway, my favorite Mega. Non-Existent offenses upset it, but with Dual Screens support, it gets at least a 68/120/120 bulk if I am not wrong, so it can setup SD on HO teams as well. Standard set, Dark+Fairy is only resisted by Klefki, and you should not be staying in on a fairy unless your +2.
Knock Off can do a lot of damage and screws Eviolite Pokemon. This thing is the perfect M-Sableye counter, and has done a lot to my previous teams. I almost always Lea with this thing to make sure Hazards don't get set up and set up SD to try and attempt a instant sweep.

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost

Talonflame. The Pokemon that can basically be added to any team and work. In this team, it beats Breloom and Scizor, which threaten Absol. With Swords Dance and priority Brave Bird, Talonflame can take the role of a sweeper. Brave Bird is fairly powerful after a boost and OHKOes most offensive Pokemon. Flare Blitz takes care of Steel types, while Roost gives some use to Talonflame in the early and mid-game, as it can throw a couple of attacks, recover off the passive damage and recoil, and set up later to attempt a sweep. Roost also allows Talonflame to deal with the Pokemon it checks, such as Scizor, Clefable, Mega Venusaur, and Volcarona, for an extended period of time.

Breloom @ Life Orb Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Tomb

Breloom is used to deal with Talonflame's 3 checks that anybody who plays Pokemon will know. This set aims to take advantage of Technician and utilize moves that will leave the opposing team extremely worn down. Spore is one of the moves that set Breloom apart from many other attackers, and it could potentially incapacitate a foe for most of the game. It can also be used on a predicted switch to ease prediction, unless a Grass-type or Pokemon with Overcoat are still alive. Bullet Seed is Breloom's most powerful STAB attack after Technician and is useful for breaking through Sturdy and Focus Sash. Mach Punch is a STAB priority move that is useful for hitting weakened or faster foes, and hits really hard after Technician as well. Finally, Rock Tomb is a very useful attack for slowing down anticipated switch-ins for Breloom to take down later; it can hit many common Breloom checks such as Talonflame and Dragonite really hard. The EVs of this set are maxed out in Attack and Speed to capitalize on Breloom's offensive presence. Jolly is mandatory as the nature to avoid Speed ties with Bisharp, tie with opposing Breloom, and a slew of other threats including neutral-natured base 80s, slower base 100s, Adamant Gyarados, Gliscor, defensive Landorus-T, Adamant Mega Heracross, and Adamant Diggersby.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 Sp Atk / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Lava Plume
- Flash Cannon
- Stone Edge
- Earth Power

Heatran deals with my fairy weakness, and all of Breloom's weaknesses.Lava Plume allows it to fish for burns which is very helpful, but Fire Blast was taken into consideration for power.Flash Cannon is a secondary STAB move that hits Fairy- and Rock-type Pokemon for super effective damage. Earth Power offers nice coverage in general and allows Heatran to nail Fire-types like opposing Heatran. Stone Edge allows Heatran to revenge kill key threats such as Volcarona, Talonflame, and Mega Charizard Y. Naive is the nature of choice for this set, as the set needs as much power as possible to clean up late-game.
488.png

Cresselia (F) @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Bold Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Moonlight
- Lunar Dance

Cresselia is a very important member of the team, as it can get up Dual Screens for Absol, and also Revive Breloom and M-Absol with LD. Moonlight is so it can set up Dual Screens continuously. First Latias was in this slot, but as it runs no offensive moves, I found Cresselia better as almost no attack can KO her through screens. the EV spread makes her as Bulky as possible from both sides.
381.png

Latios (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Memento
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock

Latios is my supporter to Talon, as it Defogs hazards off the field while using Memento to give free setup chances. Please do not ask me to change Memento, many of my games have been won because of it. Psyshock deals with Conkeldurr and Draco Meteor nukes stuff. It does, however add a Azumarill weakness. Ouch.

461.png

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance

This poke deals with Flying types, and also weakens Absol's checks as they have practically the same checks.Icicle Crash is now compatible with Knock Off and is Weavile's hardest hitting Ice-type STAB move; however, it only has 90% accuracy. Knock Off hits most Pokemon hard due to its heightened power if the opponent is holding an item. Ice Shard is priority for finishing off foes and helps with revenge killing frail and fast offensive Pokemon. Swords Dance raises Weavile's Attack by two stages and can be used when predicting switches so it Weavile can be used as a late-game sweeper. The EV spread gives Weavile the most power and Speed needed for hitting hard and quick, a dire prerequisite due to its frailty. A Jolly nature lets Weavile outspeed other fast Pokemon such as Starmie, Latios, and Gengar. PickPocket allows it to steal an item if it is hit with Knock Off.

Threats:

479-wash.png

Volturn-Core Based teams are really annoying, I normally wear them down enough with dual screens support, but some people can take down Cresselia which is when I lose.

azumarill.png

OUCH. BD. CB. I'm Dead.

Absol-Mega @ Absolite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

Talonflame @ Sharp Beak
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 72 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 180 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Roost

Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Rock Tomb

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Lava Plume
- Flash Cannon
- Stone Edge
- Earth Power

Latios (M) @ Leftovers

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pickpocket
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

- Swords Dance

As said before, I havecame to top 50 on the ladder, but any suggestion is welcome. ~Activates Criticism Shield~

Yo. You seem to be using Talonflame without defog. That is plain stupidity. Pardon me for saying so. I would recommend using latias instead of cress. This gives you both revival and defog support. Though the screen set is sub-optimal. You actually don't need to set screensize to set up. Most people switch to their respective checks and counter when it comes out. Also life orb on loom is not useful change it to sash so that you can kill tflame if your sash is intact.

Seeing your problem with Conkeldurr, latias's psyshock will take care of it. Lando-t does indeed seem to be a huge threat to your team with u-turn/knock off.
Weavile deals with lando-t effectively but if it's hit on the switch then it's good bye weavile. And without weavile lando-t will wreak havoc.

Hope I helped glhf battling :)

Don't worry, I have activated the Shield. HW or LD was not very useful, but after using Latias with Memento I have increased to top 40. Can you please nominate my team, please? so many non-smogoners have praised my team. How is my Profile Picture, by the way?

I fucking love Mega Absol, but tbh, you don't support it well. Your team is extremely weak to Fairy Pokemon in general, and not jus Azu. Heatran and Talonflame are cool and all, Have no problem with them. Except Breloom, which extremely scares me for the sake of your team. He has no benefit to it, and unbalances your team, having 4 Physical > 2 Special. So I would try Sylveon. This let's you wish pass into Absol if needed to restore his rather frail HP. Yes, this may seem like Hyper Offense, but Absol can't run in it efficiently since he isn't too speedy, aka Lopunny or Diancie can come in and sweep. Oh, and Rock Polish Diancie kills your entire team. So, I would make Heatran a Scarf set so you can kill w/ Flash Cannon. Next is that you should need a Rock Setter, HO or not. So I would replace something with Ttar or Lando.

Hope it helps.

Breloom has made valuable contributions to this team and I cannot replace him. I know every team loves Rocks, but I did try Rocks, but they hardly had any effect on my battles, really. I do want a Wish-Passer but I do not really know who to place. Oh yeah, Breloom also checks Azumarill, so yeah. Thanks for the Rate, but in what way am I not supporting Absol well, many of my losses are due to hax, others due to very good predictions made by other players. I will though, scarf Heatran.
