ORAS OU Mega-Absol Offense

Faime

Banned deucer.
Hey! Welcome to my second RMT here on Smogon. I decided to build a team around Mega-Absol as I think it is very fun and interesting to use. I would like some further help to improve the team though thus coming here.

Absol-Mega (F) @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Sucker Punch

I always start off with the Mega I want to use, here being Absol. Swords Dance is used to increase Abol's already high attack stat. Knock Off is Absol's main STAB move hitting hard as well as knocking off the opposing Pokémon's item. Superpower is a strong fighting move to hit things such as Ferrothorn and
Tyranitar. Sucker Punch is a strong priority move that lets Absol hit Pokemon faster than it. Max Attack and Speed with a Jolly nature is used to hit as hard and as fast as possible.

landorus-therian.png

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Next up I wanted a Stealth Rocker and a Defensive Wall. I chose Lando because it can utilize a slow U-Turn to get Absol in safely. Earthquake is Lando's best STAB attack which has perfect accuracy and nice power.
Stone Edge is used to hit flying types, (specifically Talonflame). Max HP increases Landorus-T's longevity and, 8 EVs in Special Defense, allows him to survive a Hidden Power Ice from Mega Manectric at full and retaliate with Earthquake. 8 Speed EVs allow him to outspeed Modest Magnezone, and the remaining EVs go into Defense with an Impish nature to optimize Landorus-T's physical bulk.

clefable.png

Clefable (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moonblast
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled

After adding and Defensive Wall I needed a Special Wall, so Clefable was the choice here. Lando and Clef compliment each other by Lando dealing with the Poison and Steel types Clef has trouble with, and Clef dealing with the Water and Ice Lando has trouble with. Calm Mind is used to increase Clef's Special Attack and Defense making it hit harder and increasing its Special bulk. Moonblast is Clef's STAB attack hitting hard just after a few Calm Minds. Thunder Wave is used to cripple Pokémon such as Heatran, Mega Scizor, and Talonflame. Soft-Boiled gives Clef a needed longetivity on the field. Max HP, Special Defense investment, a Calm Nature, and Leftovers allows Clef to take special hits pretty well. 172 Defense is to avoid the OHKO on Super-Effective physical hits such and Banded Scizor's Bullet Punch.

talonflame.png

Talonflame (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- U-turn
- Tailwind

Next I needed another Physical Attacker, Talonflame being the choice here. I think Talonflame is a great offensive partner for Absol. It resists every type Absol is weak to, and can easily revenge kill Fighting-types such as Keldeo, Conkeldurr, and Breloom. It also functions as a switch-in to defensive Fairy-types, such as Clefable, which Absol dislikes. Flare Blitz allows Talon to hit Steel types such as Skarmory and Bisharp.
Brave Bird is Talon's strongest Flying STAB move allowing it to be a strong revenge killer. U-Turn is great on Talonflame for keeping momentum and hits Tyranitar for a lot of damage. Tailwind is a last-ditch move to increase the team's Speed and generate a sweep from one of Talon's teammates. Max Attack and Speed along with a Choice Band and a Jolly nature to hit as fast and as hard as possible.

keldeo.png

Keldeo @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind

A strong Special Attacker was needed for the next slot, so what's a better choice than good ol' Keldeo. I thought Keldeo would make for an excellent Talonflame partner, as it handles Heatran, Tyranitar, and Hippowdown. In return, Talonflame beats Celebi and other Grass types such as Tangrowth, which Keldeo dislikes. Hydro Pump is used to break past Pokémon such as Clefable and Jirachi which are rather bulky. Scald is Keldeo's main STAB move as it is very spammable. Secret Sword is Keldeo's best Fighting STAB move as it can break through Chansey. Icy Wind allows Keldeo to hit Lati@s and Dragonite. Max Speed and Special Attack with a Life Orb allows Keldeo to be as fast and powerful as possible. A Timid nature is important to outspeed base 100 Speed Pokemon as well as Garchomp.

latios.png

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
- Defog

And for the last slot we have Latios as our Defogger. I chose Latios over Latias because it puts on more offensive pressure. Draco Meteor is Latios's strongest move, dealing great damage to Pokemon that don't resist it such Slowbro. Psyshock allows Latios to hit Pokémon such as Chansey and Assault Vest users. Thunderbolt is to hit bulky Water types such as Suicune and Manaphy. And the final move Defog for removing hazards for its teammates, most importantly Talonflame. Max Special Attack and Speed with a Life Orb allows Latios to hit as hard and as fast as possible.

Thanks, and let me know what you think! :]

In my opinion, you should give Latios Choice Scarf instead of Life Orb because it is outsped by quite a few Pokemon that can threaten it; Weavile in particular. The advantages of giving it
choicescarf.png
is that it can outspeed physical sweepers that usually use Life Orb. The downsides of giving it
choicescarf.png
is that it won't be able to use Defog, unless you use a different set, like the one below:

Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Defog
- Trick <- key move

Also, on Talonflame, I recommend giving it Sharp Beak
sharpbeak.png
or give it no item, and instead, give it Acrobatics, which will have boosted damage (and no recoil, unlike Brave Bird!). These are just some of my tweaks to my team; if you want, you can implement them, but you aren't obliged to do so n_n
Good Luck :]
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be sure to try them out. :]

You can use
choicespecs.png
on
keldeo.png
because help you to do OHKO to
heatran.png
, deal with
ferrothorn.png
and do a lot of damage to
clefable.png
with hydro pump, with icy wind and cspecs can make a OHKO to
garchomp.png
.

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind

Latios can carry HP fire to hit very well pokemon such as
scizor.png
,
ferrothorn.png
and
skarmory.png
better than talonflame ignoring the residual damage from flare blitz and rocky helmet.

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog

If you don't wanna carry HP fire on latios you can carry fire blast on absol to hit many steel types.

Absol-Mega (F) @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 200 Atk / 56 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Fire Blast
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Sucker Punch

I hope you like :D
