Possessing a strong, Adaptability-boosted U-turn, a monstrous 150 base Attack, and a Speed stat eclipsing that of even Zeraora, Mega Beedrill makes for a serviceable offensive pivot in the metagame. This fast, strong U-Turn and its meaty Poison Jab pressure many of the tier's popular Pokemon, such as Mega Altaria, Primarina, Slowking, Zarude, and the aforementioned Zeraora. It's also fast enough to revenge kill Mega Altaria after a Dragon Dance. However, Mega Beedrill's defensive utility is nonexistent, as its bulk is appalling, making it struggle to take even resisted attacks. It's further weak to Stealth Rock, which also significantly cuts into its ability to pivot, and the many Pokemon like Skamory and Moltres that commonly run contact-punishing items and abilities, like Rocky Helmet and Flame Body. Mega Beedrill is also vulnerable to the tier's many priority moves, such as Urshifu-R's Aqua Jet and Scizor's Bullet Punch. It also sports an underwhelming STAB combination, which leaves it walled by the numerous Steel-types of the tier, such as Melmetal, Scizor, Celesteela, and Skarmory.
Knock Off allows Mega Beedrill to punish common switch-ins such as Celesteela, Melmetal, Moltres, and Skarmory, as well as removing Rocky Helmets, which might deter it from using U-turn as often. Pursuit allows Mega Beedrill to trap and KO Pokemon it normally forces out, such as Slowking, Roserade, and Azelf. Mega Beedrill also separates itself from other Pursuit users by being naturally fast and not having to be Choice locked, unlike Choice Scarf Krookodile and Choice Band Bisharp.
Mega Beedrill fits best on bulky offense teams that appreciate its incredible Speed tier and strong pivoting, as well as having the room to support it to the fullest. VoltTurn support is necessary, as Mega Beedrill struggles to enter the battlefield safely; good partners include Moltres, Rotom-W, Rotom-H, and Gligar. These four are especially noteworthy for their entry hazard removal, since Mega Beedrill dislikes Stealth Rock. In exchange, Mega Beedrill lures in Steel-types for them to pressure. Rotom-W and Hatterene are especially amazing partners as Rotom-W pressures bulky Water- and Ground-types like Hippowdon, Rhyperior, Nidoqueen, and Jellicent, and Hatterene deters Stealth Rock due to Magic Bounce. Besides Moltres and Rotom-H, other wallbreakers that appreciate Mega Beedrill luring in Steel-types include Urshifu-S, Buzzwole, and Mienshao. Spikes setters such as Skarmory, Deoxys-D, and Roserade are great to wear down Mega Beedrill's checks, such as Hippowdon, Melmetal, Buzzwole, and Scizor, since Mega Beedrill's frequent pivots force them to repeatedly switch in.

Other Options
=============
Drill Run may seem like a good option against Steel-types, does not deal enough damage to them to be worth a moveslot, especially since Knock Off cripples Steel-types for teammates.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Steel-types**: Although many dislike Knock Off, Steel-types such as Scizor, Melmetal, Skarmory, and Celesteela are able to pivot into and wall Mega Beedrill. Skarmory is especially annoying because of Rocky Helmet chipping Mega Beedrill.
**Bulky Water-types**: Gastrodon, Swampert, and Alomomola are difficult for Mega Beedrill to break through, as well as threatening to burn it with Scald. They all dislike losing their items from Knock Off or being poisoned from Poison Jab, however.
**Bulky Ground-types**: The aforementioned Gastrodon and Swampert, Hippowdon, Rhyperior, and Mega Steelix are able to switch into and check Mega Beedrill, although all of them bar Mega Steelix do not appreciate Knock Off.
**Entry Hazards**: Spikes and Stealth Rock severely cut into Mega Beedrill's longevity and pivoting capabilities, especially given how often it will be using U-turn.
**Priority**: Mega Beedrill's atrocious defenses leave it KOed by most relevant priority moves, such as Urshifu-R's Aqua Jet and Scizor's Bullet Punch.
**Buzzwole**: Defensive Buzzwole chips Mega Beedrill with Rocky Helmet and doesn't take much damage from any attack.
